Great video. Im really pleased that I found someone who actually camped on this trail. Can you share experience :How hard is to find spots for tents? Is any parts which it ( finding tents spot) was problematic? How possible is to get fine for staying in tents?
Thanks and it was really great experience to wild camping and hiking wonderful trail. I did not have any issue to wild camp and saw few other people as well as long as you respect to others private property and avoid trail and you will find easily spot and try to scout 2/3 hours before down time.
Beautiful video, thank you for sharing! Very helpful since I'm doing AV1 soon too! I was wondering...where did you buy the gas canister you used for boiling water? Was there a store close to the trail?
Great video my friend! I hiked the Alta Via 1 in the same days, maybe we even met each other at some point! I slept at Lake Piciodel 2 years ago, it was 3°C in the morning in September and so peaceful!
Wow, that's such a wonderful film of your outdoor adventure Raaz! The Dolomites are so fascinating. Just beautiful out there. Looking forward to your coming adventures. Best wishes, Mario
Hi! This video was a big WOW. I'm going this year June as well. I see that you're dressed mostly pretty lightly and the tent is without tropic so the weather conditions must have been great. Was it cool at nights?
Just wonderful! I'm planning to do AV1 this summer and, even better than the guide books, this video helped me to imagine what to expect. The combination of rifugio lodging and wild camping looks like an enjoyable experience. Thank you.
@@budha9730 Per l' ultima tappa, hai percorso la variante più facile oppure la via ferrata? For the last stage, did you take the easier variant or the via ferrata?
I am really curious about mental aspect of doing AV1 solo. On the one hand I would love the challenge on the other wondering if hiking everyday solo for that many days would wear on me.
@@catherinereynolds2903 Do some research of trail and pack up your bag and go, you will be amazed and you will meet amazing people along the trail and you will not be alone there.
Wild camping is basically prohibited in the whole territory of Italy (some regions are stricter about it and some are a bit more lenient), in the Dolomites the stricter areas are the Fanes-Sennes-Braies and D'Ampezzo national parks so near Fanes, Averau-Nuvolau, Cinque Torri, and the Dolomiti Bellunesi national park, which covers the last part of AV1.
I flew to Vince city and took bus from outside airport to Dobbiaco village (starting point) of Alta via-1 and stay overnight in hotel there. Next morning jumped into but up to Lago de Braise after breakfast then hit the trail along the way four night wild camped and two nights in refuges. It’s well marked and facilitated trail with breathtaking scenery. You will enjoy the trip bro. That’s highlights of my journey hope that’s help you. All the best 👍
I enjoyed your video in every single frame. That's wonderful hike and beautiful video. Epic shots my friend!
Thank you for check in 👍

Wonderful work, very Kraig Adams, getting me in the mood for my own trip in June. Wild camping the whole trail.

Are there many mosquitoes in the mountains? I'm on August 9th. If it's cold at night, I'm curious what the heating is for.
No I didn’t have any bad mosquitoes experience and July/Aug not that bad cold at night as long as you have a sleeping bag. All the best 👍
