In 12 months, when this channel has 100K subscribers, I will be able to say I was among the first. Or at least the first 5K. Great content Tristan, keep them coming. P.S. I have taken the liberty of sending a link to Baston Pizza, they will love the review.
Have been going down a rabbit hole of GCN / cycling videos lately. Was shocked by the subs / views on this. The production quality deserves way more attention!!!
Tristan I stumbled upon your channel a couple days ago and it’s been great since just wanted to let you know your content is one of the best in the cycling community.
Credit card touring is the best way of doing bike trips. If it`s really hot, soak your shirt in a lake, river or fountain. The cooling effect is really good but it dries up fast. Thanks for a great video. I rode across Sweden this summer on the warmest weekend of the year.
Awesome content & beautiful scenery, I like you started living the dream while your young. I'm 65 & started riding about 10 years a go, recently retired and just starting to travel to cycling destinations, I am putting Girona on my short list of cycling destinations, wish I would have started sooner.
I'm sitting here with 5 more weeks off the bike due to a back surgery that wrecked my summer racing season, and has changed my miles of smiles to bummed. It makes me wish I could have been there suffering with you and a smile. Its always better on a bike ride, so enjoy every Km always!
Fantastic video again. Stumbled across you with Ben's Tour 4th place finish. Great to see you enjoy cycling in all its glory from wonderful location. How good are the country roads. Look forward to seeing more (Ben's training and race schedule permitting) 🍷☕
Cheers Don! Might do a post-season recap with Ben once he gets through the next block of racing in Germany and then Italy. Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed. 🙏🏼
Hi Tristan, another fine adventure. I know the feeling of being broken in the heat on a bikepacking trip. 40 degrees Celsius riding into Wiseman’s Ferry on my way to a campsite called Ten Mile Hollow. I couldn’t stomach food not even a beer at lunch at the pub. I just sat down in the shade for 2 hours until my mate said Come on Steady were moving. It was the best thing for me - I hit my second wind after that.
I just subscribed to your channel. Awesome videos. Thanks for sharing.....I have been dreaming about the day I will be able to ride in Europe through these beautiful mountains. Your videos are inspiring me and I like the credit card bike packing idea,
This is easily my favorite Video of you (+Ben)! I just love the insights. And Ben is just such a humble guy!! I Hope there will be plenty more of stuff with Ben in the future!! Greetings from Germany 💯
Another cracking video. Any morning I get up and a new tristantakevideo has dropped is a great start to the day!!! Loving the production and being part of the journey.
That’s inspiring, Tristan. Thanks for sharing the experience. I love cycling but I don’t use to have an adventurous spirit when I’m on the wheels but, hey, this type of “credit card bikepacking” is getting me thinking…
Credit card bikepacking is a super easy way to get into a bit of adventure without too much stress..it’s super enjoyable and makes it feel like a proper cycling holiday. Give it a try sometime!
Hey mate, just found your channel time in my timeline and I'm absolutely loving the quality and the content 👌🏻 you gained a new sub from the Netherlands 👊🏻
Mate this is some of the best content on youtube I have seen. Really enjoying it, especially considering I can't ride because of the lockdown here in Melbourne.
Nice! Thanks very enjoyable & beautiful! That river in a gorge @8:15 was cool ...Man Tristan you had enough salt on that jersey to supply a Large McDonalds Fries :)
I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed that. Looked like the perfect trip (aside from the bit where you were broken). Beautiful story, wonderfully told.
Did that last segment a few days back, starting on the Collada 7h30am, soooo nice. Was inspired by one of ur previous videos (“hardest commute in Europe”) and indeed going from Empordà up to the Collada is a lot harder than the other way around, but really enjoyed both ways. Thanks again Tristan for the inspiration and the amazing content you put up! Your commentary is always interesting and smart.
3:38 Parfaitement ! 👌 Nice video ! I'm happy to see Ben O'Connor, he's a fantastic rider, his victory in Tignes was superb 🤗 Watching from France (not the side where there is a beautiful sun..... 😢) Thank you Tristan for this video :)
Great content and commentary ! Really enjoying these and reminds me of going out to the Pyrenees and Alps so much every year. So during the past couple of years with the Covid lockdowns its been more challenging. Fond memories and here's to next year.
Tristan do you have a video or are you planning to make a video along the lines of what it takes to ride with Ben O’Connor? OR, your cycling journey to WT fitness… would love to hear or watch your story. Cheers mate
Hey Luis, I’m thinking of making a video about my cycling journey in terms of riding, training and racing..give me a rainy day and I’ll make it happen 🙏🏼
Those Cordel bags look amazing. Thanks for highlighting them and showing what you typically pack on trips like this. They’ve been on my radar for a while now and have wanted to order some. Any way you can convince them to make an exception and ship some to me in the US???
They’re great man..highly recommended. The Service Course has a very small number of Cordel handlebar bags currently and they ship to the US, and I can also recommend Apidura if you’re looking at alternatives. The 5L racing saddle bag is nice and small and neat, and the expedition handlebar bag packs down pretty small as well. Check those out and give credit card packing a go!
Thanks for sharing such a great video with spectacular scenery and content. You and Ben make a great team, maybe even a Cycling Touring Company one day. Thoroughly enjoying! 👍👍👍
Awesome content Tristan! Honestly some of the best cycling vlogging content I've seen - spectacular views and awesome to get insight into some of the routes Ben trains on. Expecting a collab with the Cycling GK soon! :)
Hey Dave, glad you enjoyed. Some people take a very small bottle of washing detergent with them (pour some into a little single-use shampoo bottle for example). But on this trip I just used the shower soap at the hotel. Thanks for the question!
@@tristantakevideo thanks mate, you’ve given me the inspiration and info to take on a credit card trip! Maybe not the mountains of Andorra, but the Brisbane valley rail trail 😂 keep the videos coming!!

Hey Tristan, great content. Just discovered your channel and it's a breeze of fresh air into my video feed. Was wondering what device you're using for on-bike filming ? Looks like a phone is reflecting on your shades but the quality /filming angle is too good. Is it really just a smartphone? Thanks for the answer. cheers
Hey Carlos, stoked you’re loving the videos! These are all filmed with an iPhone 11 Pro - I use the wide angle setting a lot, and shoot in 60FPS for the smooth look. Other than that literally no colour grading or anything. The iPhone really is an incredible tool for things like this. Hope that helps.
@@tristantakevideo Thanks for the answer, appreciate it! Was looking for ways to record some of my rides to share.. Oh and consider coming to ride in the Vosges (France). Great views for your vlog, lush nature, nice climbs (and delicous wine..).

Awesome videos, really enjoying the content. Interested to know how you go about planning these rides and routes.. do you load onto your Wahoo directions? Or just whip out google maps every so often? Cheers
This trip was mapped out by Ben using Strava, google maps and street view, and then turned into 3 GPX files we loaded onto our Wahoo’s to follow each day. Strava and Komoot are getting quite good at easily making GPX tracks to follow, but Ben put in the extra work using google street view to make sure the roads looked rideable and enjoyable. Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
What a video, really enjoyed it you make me quite envious beautiful locations. I got to say it must be a heck of a challenge to ride with Ben and film 😂 Top notch video though 👍
