Please make a GCN+ video on bikepacking tours chasing or preceding great bike races. I have never visited France. However, Connor has tempted me with this bikepacking video. I'm not a bike racer. I'm more of a bike tourist and bike commuter. I would prefer to join Connor and Marcel rather than join the TDF. It looks like more my style of fun.
I was staying in Grenoble few years back. There was a stage which went over Glandon from Ornon. I did not go there. Maybe I'm not a true fan. The idea of spending so much time on a spot for approx 15 minute experience just does not appeal to me. Went for a ride instead. But I understand the appeal and this GCN episode is great.
So lovely to see Marcel happy. It took a lot of courage to do what he did when he was at his peak and it is fantastic that it worked out for him and now he's enjoying a different cycling related life. Hopefully these two can do more trips together in future - if that doesnt make you want to ride your bike, nothing will.
Loved this video, immersed myself in the happiness, the views and the cycling, Marcel is clearly a lovely man, Conor and he suited each other perfectly on this tour :)
MORE MARCEL and CONNOR please!!!! These guys are amazing, and I can certainly see the introspective side to Marcel Kittel with a slower pace of bikepacking. Chapeau GCN, Chapeau!
@@conordunne1it certainly came through honestly on camera! and that makes it not only great content to share with the cycling community, but also a great memory for you. wins all around. thanks again for the video, i feel like GCN is in a league of their own with both the content and the presenters. keep up the great work! beers on me if you ever make it over to ontario, canada (or vice versa!).
This is the greatest video GCN has done in a long time! Probably since Hank and Mark Beaumont went to Patagonia. This could be a series like Car Karaoke but instead "Backpacking with a Pro Rider". Would love to see other pro riders submit themselves to spending several nights with Connor in the same tent! It has to be in the same tent! 😁😂🤣😂
@@frankrizzo7454 Nah, Connor is 2m long. Can you imagine the PITA trying to share the same tent with a person that size? Additionally, every time Matt Stephens interviews a pro in Eurosport he sounds like a groupie. Connor had no mercy.
@@conordunne1 That video was awesome Connor! I specially liked how you acted so cool and in command with Marcel (quite an easy going bloke BTW), never dazzled by his pro racing pedigree. That's the way to go: treat them like you would any other human being. No shame at all. Keep them coming!
Marcel has always been one of my favourite pro riders, he is such a nice guy!!! Please do the same trip with John Degenkolb :) Marcel ist so ein cooler, sympathischer Typ, ich bin ein großer Fan
Really good video. I am that piper. Thanks for including me in your video. Really nice bunch of guys and I'm delighted to have met you all. These videos do inspire me to get out on my bike more and commit to more bike packing. Thanks again. All the best.
This was one of the best adventure videos you all have done in a while. Marcel's insight into slowing down and enjoying the atmosphere is exactly why I love Bikepacking myself. Seeing the tour from the sidelines as both a fan and former stage winner was also very humbling and relatable. Would love to see more adventures with Conor and Marcel in the future! #cuddlingbananas
bike-packing solo is good , with a mate or 2 is better , to an iconic destination is epic .. but bike-packing to a TDF stage with a TDF legend is a once-in-a-lifetime thing .. loved it
I remember hearing years ago from some Shimano reps what a good person Marcel is both on and off the bike. This really comes across in this video. What a great adventure for Conor and Marcel.
We loved this episode with Marcel. He was so excited and happy to finally watch the tour from a spectators point of view. This would make for good future episodes with past pro cyclists. Well done!
Chapeau Marcel and Conor - two great guys having fun and reminiscing together - always a great atmosphere - reminds me of the Grand Depart in Yorkshire in 2014
I absolutely luv this video, it's so nice to see retired pros enjoying this type of cycling other than racing and experience the race on the side of the road rather on the road . . . isn't cycling fantastic !!! Remember "Justridethebike"
Just watched the GCN film with this pair in the Philippines. What a great bloke Kittel is and Conor is really down to earth they make a great team. More please
We cycled from Le Havre to Paris in 2013 and rode the Champs de Elysee on a Randonee a few hours before the race got there. Absolutely brilliant!!! - Chawn Wheelers
Think Marcel made the best decision retiring when he did, looks like he’s loving life and enjoying being on a bike again. More of Conor and Marcel, great duo
Fantastic! Please get some more adventures with ex-pros in videos like this. It was great to see Marcel return to the Tour as a fan and enjoying his retirement. Danke Marcel, Thank you GCN!
Chapeau to Marcel and his English language skills. Top drawer! Top man! I enjoyed the camaraderie in this video particularly when they supped some wine together in the evening. Lovely sense of atmosphere at the hut.
This was fantastic to see. Though I'm late to comment, I'd love to see another one of these bikepacking videos with Marcel. He's a great guy and obviously had fun filming the video and riding to the tour. He had a rough time when he decided to end his professional career. It was corageous, as the German public loved him, and gave him a hard time when he called it. He seems all good now. If he's up for it, I'd love to see another ride like this.
Very good decision fans, riding the bicycles out there is the most exciting adventure above all, wish them all students give it a try, from here to Taiwan dating your future cycling maties, no time for bloody wars but feeling fine together, pushing pedals and discovering the natural beauties...now more than ever for an environmental reason, you can do remarcable things guys, l am the biggest supporter of yours, you can bet on it guys
Loved this video with Marcel. It was great to see a former Tour winner getting the fan experience. Great job to Conor getting up the hill with all that kit.
I watched the Tour de France this year for the first time, thanks to my new found friends at GNC! It was absolutely Amazing! Thanks Marcel and Conor for this fun video.
Super nice video. Wonderful to see Marcel Kittel from my home state and Conor ride into the beautiful Vosges, the home mountains of the other half of my family.
Such an awesome video! Loved it! And loved seeing Marcel enjoy the slower pace of bikepacking and annoying being on the sidelines watching the race! More content like this please!
I don’t comment at all on videos and this is actually my first comment ever on RUclips but this was a fantastic video and it was so much fun to follow Conner and a true legend in Marcel! Never have, probably never will. I'm not into road bike racing but you got me with the bikepacking! I genuinely loved this whole video, which is a surprise to me! Great video! Awesome concept! Super to see Marcel enjoying himself authentically! Can't believe I clicked on it. Thank you GCN! I love bikepacking/ touring with my Kona Sutra Touring Bike. Great that 2 novices (at bikepacking) and great cyclists had so much obvious fun!! Keep them coming!
Marcel is such a cool decent bloke. I saw two stages when le Tour came to Yorkshire and loved the atmosphere, the caravan and sheer speed of the riders as Jens Voight sped past in the lead. Then in a few seconds its over!
A 90kg sprinter enjoying his life retiring early!! Honestly the best sprinter in the modern era!! Will take a lot of time for another sprinter like kittel to dominate the road sprint
I've always liked Marcel and this makes me like him even more. He's so genuine and I'm glad he's doing well and enjoying cycling in a different way, the way I'm more accustomed to.
This would so make a great mini series of adventures. Well produced and presented and you guys made made a great team that was so enjoyable to watch. Well done

Every single part of the grand depart Denmark. it was magic and we are planning on going to france in 2024 and combine it with the olympics

So nice to see Marcel so happy after cycling. I'm glad he was able to walk away from cycling and take care of himself.
So nice to see Marcel. One of the nice guys during his days. I was lucky to see him perform in person during the Tour of California a few years ago.
