Thank you so much for promoting the heritage tour as part of the video, a project I have been involved in! Lots of quirky stories in these smaller rural towns.
I love how you put subtitles, tell us about history and ur impressions, if u feel comfortable with it please put more subtitles, it help me feel someones company along the walk. Have a wonderful day!
Nice video, I spent many years living in Rasen. Was married in that church and occasionally attended the grammar school!. My wife(sadly passed away recently) delivered newspapers to Bernice Taupins House in tealby, it was called "piglet in the wilds". When he got married (at the other church) the town was full of A list rock stars. It's rumoured that "Saturday nights all right for fighting was based on the Aston Arms pub, my old local . She looked after Jim Broadbents mum at a day centre too. I Moved to the wolds seven years ago.
Great little video of a town I grew up in and lived in for many years (from early 1970s to 1999 to be exact). It has certainly changed a heck of a lot since I was last there!!! First walking video I have seen anyone do of the town, well done!
I live in Market Rasen, I love the place, I go to school there, love it! If you turned down union street (I live there) there's a church there, I'm very surprised I live so close to it.
Can you please do Sleaford, Lincs? This small town and the surrounding villages are a great place to live with young kids for commuting to nearby towns like Grantham, Newark, Boston, Lincoln. Deserves to get some attention & some interest would be good for local businesses. Thanks
@@GimbalWalkTV any chance you can feature Hungary in the future please, we have some beautiful areas that don't get enough foreign attention as everyone is too focused on Budapest (which is too overhyped)? Towns I can recommend: Eger (baths, cobbled streets, castle) - best one Lillafured (part of Miskolc, beautiful scenery, narrow gauge railway) Hajduszoboszlo (has the biggest baths complex in central Europe) Gyula (Castle, baths, Mediterranean feel) Debrecen (central) Gyor (baroque style town) & loads more Lake Balaton - surrounding towns like Keszthely, Heviz, Tihany etc I lived in multiple places & travelled across Hungary.
Busiest when Friday afternoon weekend mornings in the warmer months then its a pain in neck to get thru....Market Rasen House boarded up was a home for troubled or vulnerable youngsters...owners will be Lincolnshire Council
Always after - I never research anywhere I go I just jump in the car, drive there, jump out, film and then go back home and edit That means I'm usually seeing a place for the first time and usually getting lost there as I walk! That's how I like it!
you made a big mistake, i enjoyed the content, but unlike Tealby where you saved the best till last, well, if you'd of walked across the road, across the market square and then round the side of the church which is pretty in itself, out the back of the church is the old mill and also the river, which collectively with the cottages is probably the prettiest part of the town, in fact you should of got a coffee and bun from cooplands, which is a lovely cake/bread/sandwich/pastie shop and then walked through the churchyard and sat on the wall by the river, however, you are forgiven.
Thank you. Some buildings are showing their age or lack of care, mostly look beautiful though. I was tapping my nails on a cup & he who likes to be obeyed asked if they were having tea 🍵. Not yet, you we passing a pub at that moment. It would be far busier on market day.🥭🍎🍅🥖🥨🥚
I have fond memories of this place. My Grandparents (Gladis and Fred Burchill) spent many a happy year living here.
