the Ed Butcher era of Prom Queen is unmatched for me, hearing Jonah explain the reality of 2008 australian hardcore band life it's completely understandable why he bounced
Man I remember first meeting these guys when they came to Perth and my mates band animefire played with them and then becoming mates with JJ, was a crazy time 2008/2010 for Aussie metal
As a Brit who lives in Australia the only decent brit called ed who is in a band is Redcliff (carpathian-get him on the podcast lads) from what I remember they moved to Aus about the same time so a few people I ran into in the scene would get them confused, I remember doing something which is actually rude in UK culture by referring to them by their surnames. It's like T from VVEGAS it was easier just to refer to him as TVegas because his real name is just so common in Australia.
Why did you feel the need to write 'As a Britt who lives in Australia..' in front of a sentence so pointlessly? What does being a Britt in Australia justify of substantiate? It's pointless
@@dongdong8933 I'm following him in IG. We were chatting even a few times and he is definitely out of scene right now, I don't even know what he's doing for life. Last time he was an officer in UK if I'm not mistaken. He is really a nice guy and open to communication.
Beloved is still one of the greatest metalcore masterpieces to ever be made ever. Met all the dudes in that lineup too and they were all great dudes. Miss them very much. I'm always hoping for a reunion with Jamie Hope on vocals
I first heard music for the recently deceased which one of the best albums ever. But after listening to crafter and their old stuff it is my favourite sound ever. Only got to see prom queen with Jamie hope as vocalist but he also fit the band very well. My favourite band ever and they’re from my city
As a massive IKTPQ fan back in the day and the redshore why did Jamie sound so different on the prom queen album? he was a beast in redshore and even more brutal in his new hardcore type band. His screams in the prom album seemed so gimped like he was holding back. Sounds like he was just sighing ever so lightly, like he just got grounded and was frustrated
I'm just a beach kid from the east coast of the US, my friends and almost everyone in high school at the time loved this band. We played Say Goodbye with middle fingers out the windows of the cars on the last day of school. Just wanted to say thanks to all the Prom Queen members throughout the years. Wish i had the opportunity to see them live.
amazing band to see live. We were lucky in Australia to see them consistently throughout their career. Amazing to hear you guys were bumping it over in the states.
Only time I saw them was at Hellfest 04 in the small room in NJ. I also saw shotpointblack when they were opening for Casey Jones and Kids like us in Bound brook NJ around that time.
@@GamingForTheRecentlyDeceased Butcher took IKTPQ to a whole other level. They why they flopped so bad when they tried to come back with Crafter & Hope.
I get it their name is too long but every time I hear this band refered to as "Prom Queen" I cringe. It's just not a catchy name in and of itself and 80% of the time the band is called that
I remember Ed Butcher being my favourite vocalist for years. Music For The Recently Deceased was such a beautiful release and I will never forget it 🖤
I Agree
Agreed. His vocals live are still probably the best i’ve seen. Up there with sam carter
Ed butcher was the best for them
Fucking FACTS
@@dabbingfam6429 you could put Ed in any deathcore band and it would shine
Music for the Recently Deceased was such an insane album to me growing up, I find myself going back and giving it a listen to this day
Definitely is well worth the twenty dollars it runs for on iTunes…soon as say goodbye come on it’s over for me

IKTPQ and Parkway where so OG back in the 2000's. staple to the scene
They changed metal here in Australia
I remember discovering IKTPQ back in HS. Their vocalist ED Butcher definitely had a huge influence on my vocals.
I credit Australia with bringing a new wave of metalcore/post-hardcore that started in the late 2000s/2010s
IKTPQ will be forever one of my favourite bands, went crazy one time and followed there tour around the UK, seen them consecutively over like 4 nights
“Sharks in your mouth” will forever be one of my favorite songs.
Best years of my childhood was catching IKTPQ at HQ Leederville
MySpace was how I found IKTPQ all the way over here in Murrica. I miss them a lot.

Loved Crafter IKTPQ, loved IKTPQ in general, dude seems humble as hell. Legend.

Speaking of Butcher, Ed brought up his story on the Life Is Peachy Podcast especially about the Eternal Lord record etc etc
Where is Butcher now? I can't find his IG

He’s versatile and was likely trying to put his own spin on what people expected for the followup to the butcher record
I hate your opinion tbh. I loved Jamie's vocals. Easily one of the best vocalists of all time and Def the best IKTPQ vocalist
Still have a Choose to Love Live or Die EP signed in my CD collection somewhere.
So glad I got to see them with PWD here in NZ. It wasn’t with Ed but still a dream come true
Made me proud to be from Adelaide! Great times in the late 2000s

This is so random - I've never seen this podcast before. But I remember you boys from the craig jones seminar in Perth!
Oh the one where Craig buggy choked me in front of 200 people? Cool Cool. HAHA

The Hunt for Ida wave were the band for me.
Does anyone know which members of iktpk went to “love like….electrocution”
One of my fav bands from Adelaide.
Where can i find the Crafter version of MFTRD?
Ed was the man! Here Comes The Kraken was incredible
prom queen in adelaide were soooo hard
Don’t even get me started on prom queen………….
Duly noted 🫡
Kinda can’t believe he compared iktpq to poison the well…you guys were definitely heavier
Prom dogs forever ❤
Texas native here. Discovered IKTPQ and Parkway back in 06 from an Australia backyard wrestling fed, HVWA, music video. Good times. Simpler times
Hell yeah man! Thanks for listening 🤙🏼
🔥🔥
IKTPQ w/Butcher > IKTPQ w/Crafter
You wouldnt have Butcher if it wasnt for Crafter.

I liked music more say...2006-2012.
Now it's boring.
