I was in the market for a reckless 10 and still deliberating when this came out recently. I bought it, it arrived, and I fitted it to my Husky 501. It's never coming off. It's thin and light enough not to get in the way on tight single-track, and it holds everything I need to keep the weight off my back. Oh, and it looks cool. Definitely gets my recommendation.
If it doesn't look cool why bother! Thanks for the endorsement and stoked to hear the Trail 16L is the perfect fit for your bike and the type of riding you're doing.
Something I use for luggage tie down frame straps are ANCRA Soft Hooks. I keep them mounted from under the seat rails and also above the rear pegs or frame mounts. Several lengths available
That's a very good looking compact setup. I could do cross countries with those on my BMW Urban GS. I've got a solo seat and plenty room on back. Lower exhaust as well. A reasonable seat bag would complete the setup. Travel light go far. Thanks
Hey Pete, I’m a bit confused whether to get the R10 or the trail 16. Would you please explain the difference between them other than the extra 6L, Type of riding , weight etc…. I’ve got the CRF 450L and soon a Tuareg 660. Riding mostly gravel , desert and sand dunes bashing ,,, road as well.
The biggest difference is the waterproofing. The Reckless 10L can be 100% waterproof if you use the dry bags and the Trail 16L is water resistant unless you put the contents inside of something waterproof. Additionally, it depends on what your standard load out is when you are using the system. From the information you've provided, we think you couldn't go wrong with the Trail 16L since desert riding typically doesn't involve much rain.
Due to the shape of the bag, we couldn't find a waterproof zipper that would function well once dirty and would change the size of the bags. We were looking to make something light, easy to use, and not waterproof since the Reckless 10L is our waterproof option. We should have more Reckless 10Ls in stock later this Fall!
0:20 so on this system, you install the Gnoblin backwards? I’m trying to install mine now, and it seems the way the harness is cut makes it so that you have to install the Gnoblin backwards like this. Is that correct? It would be great to have an install video for this product. Thanks!
The Gnoblin in the video has been installed correctly. Looking at the Trail 16L we don't see a way to install the Gnoblin backwards. If you are still having installation issues you can always reach out to our Customer Service Team. Sometimes it's easier to help with photos or over the phone! Thanks for the feedback on the video and we'll add it to the list of videos.
The Trail 16L isn't going to replace the Reckless 10L but is just a different option for when weight is a concern and being 100% waterproof isn't necessary.

Love mine, and can’t wait for the alpine 60 to drop also!
If you like the Trail 16L you're going to love the Reckless 60L! We can't wait for it arrive either.

Thanks for the recommendation we'll have to look into them.
I saw this on the site a couple weeks ago and almost bought it. Maybe next year if the price doesn’t go up
You won't regret getting a Trail 16L!

The Orange Trail 16L would match your Urban GS really well if you have the OEM Orange seat as well!
The Gnoblin rocks!
We couldn't agree more!
Brilliant
Thanks!
0:55 is that tool pouch a prototype? It looks fantastic, I wonder if it would go in my US-5 drybag.
Those are some eagle eyes! We're testing a lighter-weight tool pouch but nothing concrete yet to share.

@@MoskoMoto thanks just ordered the trail 16
Just curious, why not just make them waterproof?

Any idea on when these will be back in stock? Thanks
Hey Keith - We're next expecting them to come back into stock until Spring of 2025.
