What an amazing video! I loved how it was filmed and edited. And how you read your books and drank tea/coffee in bed. So sweet and relatable. And I love how natural you are in your videos. Great job!
+shanyaraleonie you are the best gloria! thank you for watching and sorry we kept you two waiting last night!! next week i promise the vlog will be done on time :) xxxx
gahh isabel that is such a nice thing to hear :) i actually just put early retirement extreme to the top of my book list for 2017 as it was such a huge part of our 2016 that I want to make sure all the words of wisdom we picked up stays fresh in my mind. Hope your year is off to a wonderful start! xxx
Very relaxing video, great Sunday vibe. The morning part totally reminded me of these photo books by Veronique Vial called "Women Before 10am" and Men Before 10am" :) And it's about that morning vibe and what people do in the mornings.
A friend of mine told me about your channel. After watching 10+ videos, I've decided to sub. Thanks for sharing your adventures. I'm in awe at your bravery. I want to travel but am too scared to do it alone.
That book sounds just right for me! Thanks for recommending it. My goal is to grow my own fruits and veggies. I’m building my own small home from recycled materials. It’s wonderful to feel part of a worldwide community of folks with similar sustainable dreams. 😀
It’s been such a year since you made your post here! I’m curious if you’ve been able to work towards your goal or needed to set it aside for the time being.
I'm really glad I stumbled on your channel,I'm actually moving to Munich next week and I really hope that I can do something similar like you guys with my spending
+Jasmina Hasanagic (jash325) Thanks for checking out the channel! Munich is supposed to be beautiful (but a little pricy) so that seems like a great plan : ) Hope you're having a nice weekend!
+Piaspassion yeah! i was born in New York City and Lou was born in New Hampshire. We moved from NYC to Berlin in June of 2014! Lou is half german and his parents have an apartment here so we ditched our jobs and decided to start our creative life in this incredible city. i think we are going to have to make a 'creation' story of plant based traveler at some point to share the whole journey!
+Piaspassion yes!! lots! my family live an hour train ride away so every time i go back to visit them i go into the city a few times to visit friends and go back to my favorite restaurants :)
I loved this one, especially watching the ingredient preperation for that delicious looking meal! The more I watch your videos the more I want to try and live of 3euros a day, although it would be about £2.40 here... I think I might try it over the summer when I have a more time to plan and prepare meals!
+Claudia Barnett claudia thank you as always for watching! i am so happy to hear that you are thinking of trying out the challenge this summer. If you're really interested in budget lifestyles you should check out mrmoneymustache.com He has built an entire online community around being frugal - sometimes he can be a bit harsh, but his overall message is super interesting and has great techniques on how to live on less :)
Hey guys! I don't know if you'll come across this, but I have been suffering from lack of self confidence and being not able to lose weight and in a way you guys inspire me a lot. I've been binge watching your videos and the bit with the book review makes me want to read it. Keep it up and love your editing. :)
Aw wow Jowan I'm so sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Feel free to email me at plantbasedtraveler@gmail.com and we can talk all about your health journey and while I'm no health coach or nutrionist I would totally love to be there for you and help you get started making positive changes in your life.
+Veggiekins hey thanks for watching! so this was just curry powder giger and garlic and sun dried tomatoes but the full recipe is coming in our ebook out at the beginning of april :) :) hope that helps!
If you put jugs of water in the fridge it cuts way down on running it bcz the cold water jugs hold the "heat ie cold". Lou do dishes& cook? Thankyou 😍😍
Hahaha, thanks Ilona, funny to see people watching the old vlogs! That was a totally different chapter of this channel, can't say I miss it too much though ; ) ---Lou
+happyfityum aw thanks! glad all the hard work comes across :) i'm originally from Connecticut and Lou is from New Hampshire (though he half german and that's why we ended up in Berlin)
+moksha yay!! so happy to hear you were able to catch up on all of them :) another one coming tomorrow!! as for the fruit here.... well its definitely not a tropical destination so depends what your comparing it to, but i'd say you can find really high quality organic fruit at places like BioCompany or Al Natura and then from the turkish markets you can get stuff SUPER cheap which has been awesome for this challenge, but it doesn't taste quite as good....
I apply a similar strategy to buying food. I tell myself I'm not going to pay somebody to can beans when I can throw them in the slow cooker before I leave for work and it's so much cheaper. I may have to find that book.
its definitely worth a read!! so many amazing tips, but more importantly a complete explanation of the lifestyle on a larger scale. how to structure your world to allow you to live the life you want!! i think i may just have to pick it up again to get inspired for 2017!
That book is in interesting concept but the issue for some is that they haven't found that secret sauce yet. I've had my own business since 2013 doing EVERYTHING myself and I mean everything and I am not gaining followers quick enough, not selling fast enough and definitely can't quit my day job, let alone retire early and I am a LOT closer to retiring than probably everyone on this thread. So it's a bit disheartening when you work all day and work almost every night and see nothing from it most of the time. So it probably works for some people or there wouldn't be a book but there are a lot of people like me that try and try and try and basically get irritated when 17 year olds can make millions doing nothing and we work all day and nothing happens. But still we keep going...but it would be interesting to see if the book discusses when that happens and what you do.
+Luisa Reis of course you can! i should be finished up with it in a week or so and then it is all yours :) and ah you're back! we need to hang so i can hear all about your travels. maybe a canal date sometime soon now that its getting nice out??
+joelfortin90 we're still working the recipe to perfection! our ebook with this and a bunch of other recipes will be out at the beginning of april so stay tuned :)
Not sure if you're already onto it, but the website Mr Money Mustache (google it) will be great reading for you, he retired with his wife and child at 30 years old and talks a lot about getting the most happiness out of life and how that ultimately results in spending very little (e.g. by riding a bike instead of driving everywhere).
ahh we love that website!! He has a really similar message to Early Retirement Extreme but with a totally different tone. Thanks so much for sending it our way though :) Hope you're having a great weekend! - Dana
Exploring the older vlogs and making this for lunch
What an amazing video! I loved how it was filmed and edited. And how you read your books and drank tea/coffee in bed. So sweet and relatable. And I love how natural you are in your videos. Great job!
Yet again, what a beautiful edit. Your vlogs have such a laid-back and relaxed vibe to them, love it! Can't wait for next tuesday!
+shanyaraleonie you are the best gloria! thank you for watching and sorry we kept you two waiting last night!! next week i promise the vlog will be done on time :) xxxx
Coconut oil tip: place the coconut oil bottle in a bowl of boiled water and it will melt in a couple of minutes so you can pour it out :)
+Nina Barwald GENIUS!
I work in a store that sells this oil in bottles ktc brand .. when summer comes the bottles melt and so do I 😃
This whole vid just makes me so happy. I think I've watched the intro at least 10 times and I'm not the slightest bit sick of it haha. Love love love!
gahh isabel that is such a nice thing to hear :) i actually just put early retirement extreme to the top of my book list for 2017 as it was such a huge part of our 2016 that I want to make sure all the words of wisdom we picked up stays fresh in my mind. Very relaxing video, great Sunday vibe. The morning part totally reminded me of these photo books by Veronique Vial called "Women Before 10am" and Men Before 10am" :) And it's about that morning vibe and what people do in the mornings.

This would be so so interesting! Do you still visit NYC sometimes? :)
+Piaspassion yes!! lots! my family live an hour train ride away so every time i go back to visit them i go into the city a few times to visit friends and go back to my favorite restaurants :)
That sounds really nice :)

Do you guys have a recipe for the curry? Curry powder, ginger, garlic and... I couldn't tell what the brown dried ingredient was!
Thankyou 😍😍
