This music brings so many beautiful memories of my childhood it just made me cry!!!! The music is so cheerful!!! Perfect score for a children's parade!!!
I was 24 years old in 1977 when I first saw and heard this parade in Disneyland, California, and it brought tears to my eyes.....Sierra Cuban, Miami, Florida
cool! did you ever get to see Florida's original version before it left for Paris in '91? interesting fact: the floats for Florida's original version were bvuoltr in California at the same time as Disneyland's '77 update of the parade
First time I saw this parade was in 2010 I was 10 years old , and let me tell you I was the happiest I’d ever been now I come back every now and then and get a flood of tears come rushing in after listening to the intro 😭 my childhood is really gone!
I remember when I was a kid, And I got to go to Disneyland, and experience the Main Street Electrical Parade at night with my family. Now that I all grown up, I can re-experience it on RUclips anytime I want!!!
From 1977-1991 Version, The Opening and Closing Announcement was Recorded by Jack Wagner and Don Dorsey Version was Recorded in 1999-2001. When It was Return in Florida for a 2010-2016 Run, None of These Versions of The Announcements were Heard again.
Lived in Orlando almost all my life and this brings me back some beautiful memories of the Park. This was the best parade ever. Nothing will ever be more Disney than The Magic Kingdom Main Street Electrical Parade!!
This always gets me choked up and misty eyed. Always loved spending the summers with my dad when he took us to Disneyland. Also because the intro reminds me of El Chapulin Colorado!
This music brings back so many memories! I remember when I was about 5 or 6 my parents would play this song in our house and my siblings and I would put on our own parade for them- we would dress up and dance around, it was so much fun (: And of course, the actual parade in Disney World is pretty fantastic too! Listening to this never fails to make me smile :D
I feel the same way about this song I even commented on the “disney parks” RUclips channel and asked them to bring it back I hope they do spread the word to all to comment on the “ Disney Parks” RUclips channel to bring it back love Disney
Does anyone remember the other night parade they had with the light switch? They picked a kid to start it ! I actually got picked that day and I remember being so in shock. this was a LONG time ago.
This is the 1999-2001 music. The original version’s opening and closing announcements said this: “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, WALT DISNEY WORLD proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination. In thousands of sparkling lights, and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds: The Main Street Electrical Parade!”
This one is: "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the Magic Kingdom proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-syntho-magnetic musical sounds: The Main Street Electrical Parade!" 0:37 Gershon Kingsley and Jean-Jacques Perrey - Baroque Hoedown
Also in the original Disneyland Mainstreet Electrical Parade, the introductory male voice announcing this parade wasn't altered by any technical electro magnetic sound effects as the 1 in this video, yet still I liked whatever was left of the original 1972-1977 versions there were in this video clip.
R.I.P. Main Street Electrial Parade in Magic Kingdom. I remember being in Starbucks just staring out the window watching the parade. Or when I was on Splash Mountain and I heard the parade coming as I came out of the big drop.
Oh god, hearing this brings back memories of all the trips to Disney World I took as a kid. I hear this and can see the beautiful and colorful lights on the floats and smell popcorn and pralines in my mind. So damn fun!
I was in Disney World for the first time in July. We watched the parade on our first night (and obviously witnessed it every night we were in MK) and to this day this song will randomly pop into my head and NOT leave!
I remember watching this back in 1999 or 2000 as a kid. I missed the show so much. I am so happy that they brought it back as I haven't been back to Disneyland since then. I might be able to go in early 2023. A full 23-24 years since. Such to see and I hope to be able to catch this gem from my childhood.
As a kid, I've heard this so many times I have each sequence engraved in my mind. There's no replacing hearing it live on the parks's amazing sound system though as the outlying "Baroque Hoedown" plays in the background while each float plays it's own melody. And not to mention the technology involved at the time. Thanks for the memories!
This brings back memories.....I saw this parade in the magic kingdom one February during the polar vortex and it was 30 degrees outside in the magic kingdom with a wind chill of 26, we watched it in winter coats and gloves....parade actors had coats on themselves
This kind of brings a tear to my eye because my boys who are now big grown men, were little guys when this parade was running at Walt Disney World and I remember holding my youngest up in my arms to see the parade and my older boy sitting on the curb on main Street watching parade with eyes wide open!
the nostalgia is real this makes me want to cry as a kid born in 96 living in Florida and going through out the early 2000 watching this night time parade then the fireworks was a must for a disney trip for me my family always wanted to leave before to miss the huge crowd of people at park closing time but they did it for me because i loved those experiences.🥲
I first saw this parade in 2010, ( i was 9) And i fell in lot with it. however, nothing can really beat spectromagic, even if this was the original parade….
AAHHHH this just made me feel so many things! I saw this when it ran 1999-2001 when I was...6? And this just took me back so hard. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now.
I sadly never got to see the event as a kid, but one of my older cousins had a Disneyland CD which had that song, and...OH MY GOD was it fantastic! The song was super catchy and fun to hear that i even danced to it, and up to this day, i still feel the energy in it ever since the first time i heard it way back in 2011.
We bought a version of this song on a vinyl record about the size of a 45 but it was a 33 1/3 rpm. It has the image of the main float on a dark blue background. The old record has gotten a bit scratchy. :-) Great sound quality on this version. It has segments I'm not familiar with.
Still have that disc somewhere... Wish I could find a digital copy of that version, because it's the one that plays in my head, and sets the standard for all the rest.
Chris Helm Matthew Daniels Its in limbo ATM, I think it's still being used in Disneyland in place of the Paint the Night Parade, which has become its successor. Id like to see the MSEP return to WDW-but I think it may be officially retired in favor of the new Paint the Night Parade
I have been looking for a recording of the original MSEP, but unfortunately this one is actually of the version that started in 1999. The original said "Walt Disney World" proudly presents, as opposed to this one that says "Magic Kingdom". Still a great soundtrack though!
Awwww, this brought tears and goosebumps! Thank you so much!!!! We definitely miss this at WDW!!!! Hopefully they will bring some sort of lighted parade to us in the future!!! 💜
It's not a Robot lol.. It's a actual human voice ran thru a vocoder with effects added.. I believe it was whoever did the announcing in the park at the time this was running..
The whirling snails and caterpillars. I bet driving those through the route would be the job I'd get if i applied for a Disney job I d take it though I d love being a character on a float
This tune is pure magic. Each time I listen to it I'm a kid again! ☺️
same thoughts here! I'm taken back almost too far.... lol
Me too!
I love the song Hoedown it's called?
Nothing made me run faster down Frontierland then hearing the fanfare....
That intro gives me goosebumps.
Josh Riley me 2
Josh Riley me too, i'm 17 but each time I go to Disney or hear this song i feel like a kid again 😁
Same when I was about 6 or 5
Intro gives me goosebumps every time
Me too brings tears remembering how much joy I had in 1995 attending every day during it's celebration anniversary
(Parade intro music begins.)
Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls
The Magic kingdom proudly presents
Our spectacular festival pageant
Of nighttime magic and imagination
In thousands of sparkling lights
And electro-syntho-magnetic musical sounds,
The Main Street Electrical Parade!
I loved that. I think the latest version uses non-binary words instead of ladies and gentlemen boys and girls
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, The Magic Kingdom proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination. In thousands of sparkling lights, and electrosynthomagnetic musical sounds, the Main Street Electrical Parade!"
Gershon Kingsley/Jean-Jacques Perrey: Baroque Hoedown (0:38)
Reorchestrated and extended by Don Dorsey in 1977, revised in 1985 and 2022 (for the 50th Anniversary of the parade)

Absolute Masterpiece! 👍💜🎶🎶
I really love the sci fi laser like sound effects at the beginning! If it was recorded in 1977 then that is truely remarkable.
Why are there 19 people who would give this a ‘thumbs down’ when they clearly knew what they were going to hear?! People......🤔
The only explanation: People don't recognize art when they see it. 😉
@@WML95- It's actually a Masterpiece! 👍💜

This tune was stuck in my head for two days straight, why am I back listening to it!?
My mother took me to Disney World in '77 and this tune hasn't left my mind since!
Me too, I am glad I found it today😊
No matter what, that start at 0:37 always brings the biggest smile to my face
It brings a smile on my face too and tears in my eyes.

Rip this parade in the magic kingdom.
At least it's still going on at Disneyland, so at least it's not completely gone...
Wait what? I could only see this in 2012 in my first time visiting the Magic Kingdom 😭,I didn’t know that
But disneyland does not let us in 😭
I think it's coming back this year at MK
@@Axogoober Whoa! I'm getting tickets if so!!!

It’s so hard not to cry in this song. It isn’t the new version, but man I can’t help but cry in joy… 🥹
That's a comment i can relate to. And i have not even seen the parade in person. It is just inside of the musi :-)

And I know that there was no Disneyland 25th Anniversary float or Return to OZ float during the parade's run at Walt Disney World from 1999-2001.
Because Magic Kingdom was the only park in the resort at the time lol

I miss this parade so much. I always used to say the intro along with the announcer and snap my fingers to make the lights go out...
This is actually the second version. The original was much longer and had a different introduction, but still fun
My mom had a disk with this song on it and I used to always tell her to play this song over and over. Brings back so many good memories.
