This parade and soundtrack will always have a special place in my heart. Me, my siblings, and parents went to WDW in 1994 while my dad was in brief remission from an aggressive cancer that took his life later in the year. I was 14 at the time but remember sitting in Liberty Square watching this parade with him like it was yesterday. The world and all the craziness of his illness stopped for a few moments and I will always cherish the memories this parade and especially the music helped provide.
The Best Parade in the entire world. I get goosebumps and overwhelming feelings. Disney should have brought this back for its 50 Anniversary and I would have been down there in a flash. Today an amazing show like this would never be made or considered. Disney has lost its way. PLEASE somehow bring this back..
I had the pleasure of performing/driving this parade for 5 years every night - I come here to revisit and am reduced to tears with so very many wonderful memories and a heavy heart that this parade is no longer around - this parade will always live on in my heart and dreams ......
My fondest memory of Disney World was standing on the bridge at Splash Mountain with my young son on my shoulders watching the spectromagic parade. It was truly magical. Thanks for the part you played in making that wonderful memory for me.

Technically, Disney hasn't officially had a farewell season or send-off of the parade, plus the parade floats currently still reside in the magic kingdom... so there's still hope for the parade!
Owen O'Barr I wish that was the case, the spectromagic floats were kept in improper conditions and they got completely ruined and I'm pretty sure the floats have been all shipped off, but one can only hope that it's brought back. TBH on this magic night was one of my core parts of my childhood that brings back a flood of memories, I'd want spectromagic to come back just for that song, and the frigin chernabog float wow
I so remember this! When I hear this, I can still see the pretty lights on the floats and smell popcorn and pralines in my mind! Hearing this on RUclips is just not the same as hearing it on Disney World’s outdoor speaker systems.

Same. A new version would be amazing, especially with the technological advances that have come since the original parade debuted in 1991. Maybe the floats could make use of LEDs. Ooh, and maybe they could feature floats based on some of the newer movies, including "Tangled", "Frozen", etc.
Born in 79 and a Disney brat, my first trip was in 85 and my parade has always been the MSEP. So when I first encountered this parade in 94 or 95, I resisted it. Now it has a special place in my heart.
The Disney Co. needs to set side money to give back a night time parade to Disney World. It was some Disney administrator's decision that led to the complete loss and destruction of this amazing parade. They owe it to the millions who loved Spectro. Bring on SpectroMagic 2.0!
The hilarious irony is that the Happily Ever After fireworks show almost certainly cost more money to produce than SpectroMagic. Unless every light bulb needed to be replaced after each show, I don't see it being more costly than fireworks, which are damn expensive to begin with.
Robert Ofenloch - the biggest difference between parades and fireworks is that they need far less cast to put on a fireworks show than a parade. For fireworks they need cast members from Main Street, a few from Fanastyland and the firework crew and then for parades they need the same amount of Main Street cast, some Liberty Square cast, some Frontierland cast, and A LOT of entertainment cast members as well as the drivers and crew. I would also love to see another nighttime parade come to WDW, but with wages for cast members finally going up, all the work happening at Epcot, and many attractions and other shows needing a facelift I don’t see it happening anywhere in the near future. I wish it would, though! Something like Paint the Night would be so neat to see in FL.

Thanks for sharing. I worked the Parade Audience Control shift in Frontierland nightly and brings back so many memories. I can picture each float, dance moves, and character in my mind listening to this. Peace, ❤, and Mickey Mouse.
My absolute favorite!!!! Keep hoping that when I come back I’m surprised to see this fantastic parade!!!! It define’s Disney to me and my family. I was a kid when I first saw the Electric Light Parade and it was wonderful but let’s move back to Spectromagic please!!! It makes me feel like a kid again...(even more so than just being in the parks). My family and I are DVC members and are loyal to the Disney brand however let’s not forget the past and what brought us all in please!
Disney gave Baroque Hoedown and the Main Street Electrical Parade a complete upgrade, they should honestly do the same with SpectroMagic for Magic Kingdom, they already have an available slot since there's no nighttime parade as of 2018.
if disney doesn't bring back spectromagic, i hope they at least bring back the spectromen. i was so scared of them when i was a kid, but now i feel like they're so charming?? they have such cute personalities and interesting design, i feel like not having them around would just be wasteful.
So sad that the Disney company has taken away night time parades, truly one of the best experiences of visiting The Magic Kingdom, because of its dazzling night time parades. At least there is still the holiday parade during Christmas to still enjoy. But sadly my children will never experience parades like the Main Street electrical parade or Spectromagic. :(
the electrical parade was something they should of never ended as well as whishes both should of stayed where it was and they should bring spectromagic for certian months like early spring or something

Robin Williams had a falling-out with Disney C.E.O. Michael Eisner after "Aladdin" so this voice belongs to Dan Castellaneta, who is the actor who also provides the voice of Homer Simpson in "The Simpsons."
This is amazing and at many times it is better then Electrical Light Parade, but for me Electrical light parade is the best Disney nightime parade (but now there is a very big potential rival to take that title at Hong Kong disneyland, called paint the night, I would say is a mix of this and Electrical light parade to make THE ULTIMATE PARADE)
Something to just bring up that at d23 they showed a picture of the main Street electrical parade after they showed the warehouse and said everything was well maintained. So maybe that was an ode to spectromagic and that it may be returning in someway?

"Not enough money" Um, Disney makes about 9 million dollars a day XD And the parade is gone for good. They said themselves that SpectroMagic is gone permanently sadly. But they're gonna recycle a lot of the parts for other things, possibly a new night parade. Who knows?
Disney leadership has fairly well destroyed their brand and taken away the joy for future generations but they can never steal the great memories and wholesome goodness of past times. We will cherish our memories.

One of the perks of working on Main Street. I got to watch this when it came out, because the stores were empty at this time.
