years ago street racing in Dallas(80s) I had a low 10-second car, old dude had a 60s Dodge dart, I lost 500 bucks, he popped his hood, a Keith Black race hemi$$, I learned my lesson.
People don't know who that is any more. I knew a guy who built a 69 Charger with a Black hemi and a rebuilt supercharger from a junkyard. Put 1000 hp down in the early 90s. Twisted the rear end with so much torque. Old drag guys knew everyone in the race scene and could get anything needed. Drivers were usually the builder and mechanic. Now you pick a 5 year old who karts good. There's no real community there anymore.
