Brings back memories of my H.S. years too shy to tell the one girl that I loved her. Have been married to that wonderful girl 52 plus years now and are still very much in love. I am a very blessed man to have this special girl in my life all these wonderful years.
Dennis truly you are blessed I met my wife to be in June 1980 we got married 359 days after that we were together for 40 years and 5 months until cancer took her I'm so happy for you and your wife 52 years of marriage Bliss and may may you both have many more years of bliss
@@bobbender2922 Bob, thank you for your kind message. I am truly sorry for the loss of your wife. Memories are the only thing that you can relive your wonderfull wife. God speed my friend.
@@bobbender2922 So very sorry to hear this, Bob. Treasure your memories together, as I know you do.
Awesome!
God bless you both.
I was a teenager in the 60s, songs like this were everywhere. Just not as good as this. Best music ever!!!
Me Too
This song was way underrated, beautiful composition!
Yes I agree. I think the whole band was underrated. Just love the sound, unique soul moving beauty. Very talented Ronny Rice and Company...
In Chicago this song was very popular. they were home town chicago guys
It certainly was
This song should have made it to #1. This was their BEST SONG!
Terrence, you are absolutely right-on! This song should have done much better on the charts in 1968 than #22. And the oldies stations overplay the follow-up 1969 single by this group, "Things I'd Like To Say", which made it to #16. It is a good song but not nearly as good as "I Will Always Think About You".
AGREED!
Love the horns on this great tund
It was a great time to be young. Parents that cared. Installed morals and values and consequences for our actions in us. Thank God I was born when I was.
growing up in the 60's 1968, such a turbulent year, but such great songs.
One of favorite songs from 1968. My wife and I are still together after nearly 54 yrs. I've been a very lucky man.
the sixties - a decade of music and talent we will never see again
Michael Carson A Musical renaissance
Never seen before or ever again.
Mr Carson : AMEN, BROTHER !! -------------WolfSky9
Totally agree.
That is so true michael but we still our music of the 60's it is who we are the soundtrack of our lives brother
I've always said generations are decades in music. I fortunately favored the sixties!
Brings back beautiful memories of a timeless song. Love this
Can’t find beautiful music like this today❤️
I was a dj at a corner night spot for awhile...this marvelous tune never failed to fill the dance floor and adjacent isles!❤
This song is my husband's and my song. After 52 years of being together we still feel the same way. Oh, young love!
❤
Ron Riley and Art Roberts. WLS in Chicago. The best.
This was #1 on WLS Chicago, a huge midwestern hit and one of my favorites. How can you make a better love song?
89--WLS, the best...a staple slow dancing song...Over 50 years have past, but I still remember the Friday nites in the gym, dancing with GM...
@@alanlorenz9877 89 WLS + 1000 CFL
Yes indeed, WLS 89.0 AM was probably the best radio station to listen to back in the 1960's and 70's. I'm from Chebanse, IL just south of Kankakee and 63 mile's south of Chicago and I remember in February 1979 on my way back from Florida getting WLS on my car radio in the evening. WLS and Chicago rocked way back then.
Oops, forgot I was in Knoxville, TN !!
From southeast Missouri 500 miles from Chicago but wls was our night time music. Our lives are remembered through this music we listened to.
I was obsessed with the New Colony Six I searched every record store in NYC for all their fantastic 45s vinyl singles and I bought every one of them. Beautiful music wonderful happy memories.
Aw. My this song reminds me of my parents. They were married 53 yrs ago this past spring (may of 1969!) &they’re still going strong ...w a handful of kids and 3 handfuls full of grandchildren ! What a beautiful love song this tune is❤and super underrated
Great song, great memories, i was just home on leave from Vietnam. USMC.
Hats off to you sir for your patriotism. I was up for the draft when this song was released, and had my first date as well...............
Young guys singing such mature lyrics. Not like today where they use profanity and talk of abusing their women. The world has gone to hell.
Sends chills up and down my neck and spine. Great arrangement and lyrics
❤❤❤😢😢
My curiosity is running rampant. This is a 5 Star Recording!@@Kathy-ok2qf
Brings back very special memories
There was another site with this song a few years ago, a girl posted that this was her & her fiancée's song back in the day. He went away to Viet Nam, and never came back. I still get choked up when I think about that story, which is whenever I hear this song, which I have always loved. I hope her life turned out well.
Ronnie Rice will be performing in Kenosha this Sunday night at a local hot spot near The Brat Stop called Blue Chateu. Dick Biondi will be there too!
So do I. Got the Dear John phone call shortly after this song came out. Thought our love would last but that time changed so many of us. Every time I hear this song I think of her and wonder if she found true love again. I did in 1973 and we have been married for over 43 years.
One man, one woman.....the only way it is supposed to be!
What a beautiful song.
Ronnie Rice best voice around. Really miss him on WGN and Bobby Collins
And I thought I was the only one who just loved this band.
Great lyrics great voice great song and you can understand the words unlike today and there's no profanity.
True, true, true... very well said. Beautiful music, beautiful lyrics, beautiful expression of the feelings of the heart ...
Amen!!! Can’t stand music of today, if you even call it music ! Garbage noise
I haven't heard this in ages what a great song !!!! This was the music of my youth and I thank God I was there for the 60's. Thanks Mike :o)
+Tonithenightowl Second that. :-) Ronnie Rice wrote or co-wrote their top two singles and also was lead vocalist on them. Love ballads - - a fading art form ....
This song is truly timeless. Works for ANY generation who finds love. Now that is what I call a gem to treasure. The band would cut a hit back in the day and you would always say yes another great New Colony Six classic. I knew even then they had something really special. Soft without sappy. And very romantic sound. The six had it!!
Fitting comment.
Being in love in the late 60s - there will never be anything like it again. Wonderful music and great memories.
Beautiful times in 1960s beautiful ladies and great music people had heart.
Men and women were romantic in those days I miss the 60s
A HUGE THANKS TO MUSIC MIKE FOR BRINGING BACK THE BEST OF THE BEST......JUST AWESOME MUSIC AND GREAT MEMORIES....
Thank You!
@@MusicMikeFlashbackFavorites THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH MUSIC MIKE♥️
One of the best songs ever. Always reminds me of rather sad things, though.
Agreed
Yes me too .When this song was out I was Young and in Love Engaged to be married .We married lasted 25 years but ended .But I still tink about that time.
This song came out when I had my first real girlfriend, I can't help but think of her whenever I hear it.
This record was a monster hit in my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. As was "Things I'd Like to Say." Both of them hit number one, and "I Will Always Think About You" placed in the top 5 in the year-end countdown for 1968 on my local AM station, WAKY.
The Classics 4, and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap were also popular groups back then
OMG, such memories of someone I still think about.
nothing can top the 60s beautiful.......
Listened to this countless times back then....
Doesn't get much better than this tune! Sounds as good as it did the first time in 68' Spring Break Ft Lauderdale FL.
I've learned to like this better than things I'd like to say.
Love this song. Truly a blessing from the heart!
I really do believe that had this group, & the music they gave us, been just 3-4 years earlier, they would have had far more chart , Top 40 success. Timing IS everything.
Yes, Music Man Mike, this one is a true " Lost 60's Classic ". ------------WolfSky9, 71 y/o
Brings back fond memories...all of us had fun!
great early 70' song!
I love this song. Great cut, arguably their best.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Ronnie Rice. I saw the NCS playing around Chicago, often times with The Buckinghams, Cryan" Shames, Shadows of Knight, Ides of March.
They were all popular bands in Chicago at the same time and often gigged on the same nights at the same venues. Their records got plenty of play on WLS radio. They weren't rival bands. They were all acquaintances or friends who enjoyed each other"s music
and often went to each other's shows.
This song is a beautiful, soft rock love song/ballad masterpiece.
✔ *Big 10...WCFL*
Thanks Mike. One of the most beautiful songs written and sung with all their best NC6. Fantastic.
This should have been a #1 hit.
Nice to hear the songs again. They meant so much
take me back hom to the 60's
Ronnie Rice- a really great voice
derek sanderson and a helluva nice guy.
Such a classic.
WLS and WCFL…Chicago radio…so long ago but feels like yesterday…
LIVE IN WV..AS A KID I WOULD LISTNE TO WLS, WOWO, WCFL WBZ LATE NITE ON THE OLD 6 TRANSISTOR RADIO ..GREAT TIMES
WLS and WCFL my radio stations!
Amen brother...ex the transistor...was in Boston at the time...BC in fact...add in KAAY, KDKA, WABC, WBT.
I listened to WLS and Fred Winston in my office at Electro-Voice across the big pond from Chicago. Mr. Winston, I believe, lives in southwestern Michigan. I'd like to meet him and say thanks for the good times.
My brother and sister and I would each sleep with a transistor radio under our pillows. Whenever there was a commercial or song we didn't like on WLS, we'd switch to 'CFL, and vice versa, back and forth, all night, until we fell asleep. Fortunately, the two stations were close to each other on the dial, so it was a quick switch.
Great love song!
As years go by some memories just don't go away days of joy fun and just hanging out some friends whom many have since passed and of course music like this that sadly we will never heard again how sad.
For the sixties is the best music era of all many great artist in that decade
I know this is a "lovers" song, but I dedicate this song to my baby grandson, he's a year old now. He moved 600 miles away a few months ago and I played this alot while he was still living here, so it's etched in his mind:) The words are true, even if I live without him, I will always think about him and love him:)
It was #1 56 years ago on this day 3/25/68
BEEAUTIFUL Make out music, she is there she never left me
my memories of her and what could never be.
I will always think about you, Mike.

Great song! It's their best song and it is stunning! Music Mike needs his own show!! Great radio voice!!
Eric Kolkey - Thanks Eric! I will....very soon...around mid January 2015.. "Flashback Favorites"....on the new KVKVI internet radio. It's my new station and in the works for about 6 months now. All the great songs you hear on my YT channel.....and a lot more. Stay Tuned! I will announcing it's debut here on RUclips.
Cool! Do keep me updated!
+Eric Kolkey I agree, Mike needs his own show.
What Mike has to do is create his own DJ video 60's/70's music show for RUclips. He could introduce each song as usual and have each of his video's run for an hour to two hours per show. Hey Mike, I've got a new project for you!
tmr626 Great ideal !
1968, I was finally a teenager. I loved listening to my transistor radio. WKAZ in Charleston, West Virginia. D.J. Rockie Steel.

Great song. Lots of great music from the 60's.
I remember this song from the Summer of 1968, for me and many the memorable time between 7th and 8th grade and the awakening of feelings for the opposite sex. And the music of that time lives and will live forever…
This is a really good song.
This song is absolutely LOVELY!!
As Mr Sinatra once said : " Folks, you can wait around & hope, but you'll not hear the likes of this, ever again. " ---------Sad, but true. --------Today's ----?? ' music" ??---------Can't come close to this. --------WolfSky9, 72 y/o

A song I will always remember.
Great song and voice it makes me think of the ones who are sadly arnt with us anymore
Much great music came out of Chicago in the 60's; Mercury was still based there and most of the major labels had studio facilities in town as well. Lovely song, which I also have on CD in a collection Polydor put together in the 80's.
this guy is awesome! needs a reality show!
Aeerobic --- It will soon happen. Mid-January 2015. "Flashback Favorites" on the new KVKVI internet radio.. Details to come soon here on RUclips.
