Make your own baby PUFF with 2 ingredients

- My son loves rice puff from the big brands, so I thought I would try making them. If you are also trying to learn how to make rice puffs, the rice puff I made here only need 2 ingredients. Rice and egg whites.
If you have left over rice you can consider making these too. The amount of ingredient I used is because I wanted to make more for this video, but it turns out it made so much rice puffs its impossible for him to finish alone. As they do not contain preservatives, it wont last as long. So probably 2-3 days max.
I would suggest cutting down the ingredients to maybe half if you don't want to end up having too much leftovers. Although.....adults can eat them too :)
It starts to lose its crispiness at day 3, perhaps its the egg whites, I may try to remake this without the egg whites since the store bought puffs don't seem to need it. Lets see how it goes :)
Now i can give this to my babies instead of store bought ones. Thankyou!
Really like this recipe!!! I tried at different temperatures and the best so far is 215 degress Farenheits for 75 minutes. It really melts in mouth. I add different purées to the rice instead of water and cinnamon powder for flavor.
Cool! Thanks for sharing the best temperatures to use!
Hello may i know what puree is it? I saw on another vids it can be substitute with snow pear
How to do it in a stove?
I just made this but instead of using rice I used his baby cereal and it worked great! Thanks for the recipe!
baby cereals are full of horrible things added to them, you better off using good quality organic rice.
Thank you for this video. My baby has texture issues with wet or slimy or saucy foods. He only wants foods that are chopped very small and dry to the touch. His diet can improve now. This is such a great idea.
Hope your baby likes it :)
I changed the water for spinach-water mix and the baby loves it!
Awesome! Spinach sounds like a good idea :)
I am assuming if stored in the refrigerator it will last longer than 3 days?
Thank you. I will do this for my baby🤗
Have you tried vaccum sealing these to make them shelf stable? Or maybe using oxygen absorbers in some mylar bags?
Hi, this sure look good for my kids as well. But here is my question, can it be baked on a stove top with frying pan?
Please, let me know. Thanks
Thank you for the recipe, can I use oat instead of rice ? If so, do u think how is the ratio?
Ive never tried using oats before, let us know how it turns out :)
I tried it now to my grandson but i wonder why its not crispy
Any egg substitute please
Im going to try this for my 10month old baby thanks
:)
Will it work if i try to add like pureed fruit to make it tasty?
Hmm, someone in the comments added spinach and said it worked, so i think fruit should too :)
Instead of egg white what can use
This actually works 😍 mine came too soft. How can I make it bit hard so that it won't break easily?
hi make sure you don't use too much water and to ensure your egg whites are stiff. Then you might have to experiment with the temperature and duration of baking because the size and shape you make might be different from mine :)
IF you find it being burnt on the outside but its still wet in the middle, try to make the puffs thinner so it bakes more evenly.
Does this melt in the mouth like the commercial puffs?
Hi
Comparing to commercial puffs
Those are more crisp in my opinion
This is more melty after the initial crunch
Hope it helps :)
@@KCgohParenting thank you! Will definitely try this for baby!
What is the shelf life?
I try to finish it in 3-4 days because it loses the crisp after that
Have ypu made these with salt and honey maybe it will help make them last longer.
I have not tried that haha only this version
Is this ok to make this for my 7 month old baby?
@@kealoha9349 depending on whether your baby has already tried solids and also whether they have any allergies to the ingredients listed
can i use an ordinary pan?
@@celestialaprilyna.3350 sorry i never tried with a pan before, only an oven. I would assume the temperature and time required would be drastically different in a pan
I’ve been cooking this in oven for 95 min at 100c but still inside is mushy. What’s wrong
Do you have any suggestions on how to make it vegan? What about replacing egg whites with flax seeds?
I have not tried with flax seeds. The egg whites are used to create the fluffiness and volume. Without it the puff might not be airy and be flat :)
What is shelf life
How long it can last
How the taste after 3 days?
@@crayonioo it will soften after a few days since there are no preservatives.
Puffs are in the oven! Next time I'll try a higher temp. They've been in the oven for almost 2 hours and the center is still wet but they look good. Did you manage to successfully make them without egg?
Hi! No i have not managed to make it without egg. Instead i've started making butter biscuit (latest shorts video) instead because my son likes that way more :D
@@KCgohParenting are those butter biscuits ok for a 9 month old? Would love to try
@@gsyq863 welllll i would think its up to the parents if they want to feed their baby butter haha. Its pure fat basically, and there are many articles online saying its ok to introduce butter as early as 6 months old. But i only started making this when my son is almost 1.5 year old so i don't have any experience in feeding it to a younger baby unfortunately.
If you do happen to want to try making it, you may want to experiment with the temperature too as you mentioned you took much longer for the rice puff. (Im guessing it might be because my oven is old and not that accurate anymore)
@@KCgohParenting thanks for the tips! Will definitely make the puffs again. I'm planning to mix in some fruit and veggies to get some color and flavor. Thanks for sharing the recipe 🍚🥚
@@gsyq863 thanks for watching :)
Where is the recipe ????
60 mins!!!!!!!
