4:19 This one helped me understand how the 8042 excavator was able to put two drive trains into one axle.
To clear things up, I meant that the concept was the same, not the mechanism.
These are awesome. I really appreciate you getting into the “ nuts and bolts “ of technic in this recent video. I’m hoping you plan on doing more. Thank you.
yeah, it makes lego feel like more engineering like, not just a kid toy
Thanks man, really helpful for an absolute begginer.
I just purchased my first power funcions motors. I plan to motorize a Lego Tank and I had no clue how to do simple things like a 90 degree with the grears. Now I have a better understanding how how this works, hopefully I will be able to figure it out from here somehow! :D
Another awesome video, Bro! I wish, you would make more of "for Dummies" series. For instance, basics of car frame building, chassis basics, principles of building car bodies on a small scale. I mean, all your content is top class. Any tips for beginners would go. I personally find your tutorials the most useful and inspiring.
Awesome tutorial, can't wait to test this out!
i have always had a problem with getting the right ratio and this video really helped me!
Very informative, I will have to make use of this information in some future builds.
Thanks for the tutorial! These really help
Great informative video, nice explanation
Great tutorials. Thanks so much.
Very helpful. Thanks
2:04 - Me, in Bricklink Studio : "You have NO idea how true that is. Higher Force indeed."
thank you very much its very helpful :)
note regarding worm gear: if you have some requirements met, you can actually transfer motion from output to worm gear, just apply a lot of torque on output gear. you can see demonstration of what i'm talking about in this video: ruclips.net/video/8uB9Pq_oZuM/видео.html
lift
Perfect. Thanksss
Gear calculator is also available as an app for Android. Also other apps by Sariel (Motors, Wheels, Unit Converter, LEGO Colours and Brickset Offline) are very helpful
Yes, that is shown on the printscreen of Sariel's website in the video.
@@grohl666 sorry, haven't seen it :)
@@Interqba no problem at all
I am very new to technic and gears, and this clear instruction video was very helpful. I am trying to make objects fly/float (with transparent rod piece) with the gears. And advice on that? Or is there an other video that throws some light on it...thanks.
I should definitely do the useful linkages video
What’s the purpose of the big four-knob gears that you used on the gearshift axle in the Land Rover? (Why not just two 16t gears?)
Originally the plan was to show the speed the gearbox is in.
Great videos. I just miss a Lego number reference of the pieces you use so we can buy it and reproduce the builds ourselves.
Just look at the inventory of 42110.
@@grohl666 on bricklink.
Regarding L beam combiantions.
What about 8 and 28, that should be legal too.
And what about 20 and 24 which was officially used in Chiron. is that legal?
Do not have 28 at home to try it out but the other one feels bit loose to have it successfully motorized for example. The 2 examples I show are totally safe though.
@@dinhtuan752 nope.
But what are those plus looking ones with the 4 ball ends? I saw them in the intro screen but not in the video.
They are called knob or bone gears. I can make a short video on how to use them.
Why don't the worm gears have friction ??
So you can build telescopic sliders
amazing video! but where will i be able to buy these parts?
Any Lego Technic set. The Defender 42110 has all if them.
Can you please make a c moc with the 42080 log loader set?
Nope, I do not have that set.
I often find difficult to have a smooth movement when connecting a 20 teeth double bevel gear with a 12th double bevel gear. Do you have any tip?
the most efficient combo is a row of 24 or 16 tooth ones
Where do you get the big bag of parts to build all of thees things
From LEGO Technic sets
Why do you call them gearwheals instead of gears?
You can still call it gearwheels
Hello, thank you for the content.
Please, where can I buy this set of gears?
I can't find it on the official website of LEGO.
Just get a Technic set that contains them or buy them from Bricklink
@grohl666 Than you for very fast answer👍
I have made a small plane with corvette ZRI
Nope, tried And failed
Sorry for duplatation
I have a project , I need to make a car basically
This helped a lot thx
You are welcome.
I want know the number of the yellow gear, the medium
Does this help? www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=136
@@grohl666 yes bro thx
Follow, driver and idler gears and the math of gearing up and gearing down with driver and follow added into the mix with idlers, otherwise that was very basic ..
I do not think I understood your comment properly.
@@grohl666 I was just curious about the concept of drivers, idler and follower gears .
@@grohl666 my understanding of your video is how to secure 2 gears , one driver and one follower only?? So a 3 gear train is not recommend due to gear slippage?? Is that the general rule..
@@Sirslayer_X Nope, not all. Feel free to use as many as you need but usually the fewer, the better.
A small request can you make a plane with corvette ZRI
Nope, tried And failed
are you done with the truck corvette zri
Few more weeks. Right now we are working on the 42111 Cargo plane.
I know this isn’t related to the video but is there anyway I can make a proper suspension with only 2 suspension pieces
Do you mean the wishbones or the shock absorbers?
Wishbones
@@stopmotionstuds8531 You can definitely do the rear suspension only using beams and if you do not need indepenent suspension, you can try pendular, live axle or similar suspension type for the front.
Thanks
where can i buy some at
Pick a brick from Lego or Bricklink
i don’t understand how to use the special red gears :/ can somebody explain it?
They work as a part of gearbox using the shifting ring in between ruclips.net/video/NJNC6tcw2Cg/видео.html or allow you to transfer power around a spinning crossaxle, check for example the 42093 instructions or 4:19 in this video.
or 42126, 42128.
Where is an instruction for Volvo?
Coming in 3-4 weeks
What do dummies mean.
+
What if the people didn't have some of the gears like... me I have most of the gears but not all of them.
You do not need all of them to build a decent model. Look at 42122 for example. There are almost no gearwheels.
what is toy name
LEGO Technic?
you can just call them gears, nobody calls them gearwheels
LEGO Technic design team does.
Thank you for calling me dummie...
Do not take it personally.
@@grohl666 but i know i am...
So I am dummy
No, it just means that we all still learn including myself.
Why do you use the satanic number "666" in your username?
I love Dave Grohl and heavy metal.
:)
This dummy says thank you :)
are you serious WHY IS IT FOR DUMMIES?
I really thought some people had a sense of humour.
