One season at 20 goals and an injury history. Bridge deal is a "show me" safety contract for the sens. To me, this is absolutely stellar negotiating. Too many long term contracts handed out around the league based on 1 season of play. That bites alot of teams in the ass. And stay away from those NTC and NMC clauses. They hand them out like candy around the league and teams end up screwed over it.

Couldn't agree more with Brandon, Pinto needs a few more seasons before he starts commanding a long-term deal or the increased financial commitment. Would love to see something agreed upon with Parker Kelly soon, loved his commitment last season and feel his contributions were not properly recognised. Great episode as always guys.
Pinto pretty much has to be bridged, Ross is right about the abundance of long term deals that limit our flexibility right now.
Also happy for Guenette, I really think he'll be an NHLer not long from now
A bridge deal is not optimal but it may be reality. He still has to earn the big dollars. You also have to remember he cost the Sens half a year of his services and a "scandal" they didn't need.
3-3.5/year for 2 years is sufficient for now.
Feels to me like 5 mil AAV long term for Pinto is a pretty good deal.. not sure what Staios is cooking here

Seems like Buium is on the rise on a lot of lists. 3 weeks ago it looked like he could drop to 7, but now I really doubt Ottawa gets a shot at him. Too bad.

Staios can’t get a deal done with Pinto. How is he going to do anything more complicated. He takes too long to do anything and we will miss out on players. Look Markstrom is gone to the devils. Staios doesn’t know what he is doing in my opinion.

I am glad Markstrom is moved. I would rather Ullmark or even better Saros.
I didn’t really want him either but I definitely don’t think we have a shot at the other two. It was just better than what we have. I think it was the same as the coaching. He waited too long to get Berube or he wanted the cheapest coach with NHL experience. I don’t get a good feeling about Staios ability.

Really hard to convince a goalie to waive a no move clause to come to Ottawa with our track record of hanging em out to drive and making their numbers look really bad because of horrible team defense
