Trym was an incredible drummer. That constant double-kick barrage requires a lot of stamina and precision.
Actually not really, once you get the technique down its pretty easy. Looks difficult but higher tempos are actually easier than say mid tempos where you have to use a lot of leg motion or very high tempos where you are doing something radical.
Trym IS a great drummer. He is still alive and playing.
@@Nefville Is the double bass at 2:51 done with diddles on both bass drums?? Or is he just playing it half speed and the sound is from the record?
@@molochz I think you misunderstand, I'm not saying the song was easy or that Samus is not as talented as he is, just that the technique is not as hard as you would think to learn and play the extended double bass.

i love the way you mix triggers with the sound of the mics makes it sound big and deep but also dinamic not just that awful trigger only sound! great drumming and mastering!

Yeah, but you have to remember, that Samus ansewered to the version from album. Check the live track from Wacken 2006, it's insane. But still this cover is sick as f**k!!! By the way @66Samus is there any possibility to make drum cam from any Mayhem recordings (by Hellhammer)?? Some kind of "Crystalized Pain of Deconstruction" or maybe "Chimera" which no one did on YT. Arcturus or Winds (both jazzy drumming) also will be wondered.

I'm thinking for the latter either the song "Om Kristen Blod ov Jodisk Tru", "Gorgoroth", or possibly the song "Wound Upon Wound." That would be awesome!
can you do strawberry fields forever... or i am the walrus.... but with extreme metal drumming lol...i used to play in a metal band back in the 90s i played guitar, bass, drums all in different bands. i would love to jam out with this dude. would be so fun. Seems like he can probably figure out 100 ways to play to a riff within 5 minutes... he's just one of those guys. i'm a bit like that too myself. but i don't have the precision this guy has. his speed and precision is super tight... u rock samus
