This really is the most beautiful Sondheim song ever written. The interweaving accompaniment/chord progression is so difficult and complex, yet mesmerizingly gorgeous (and a real challenge for the singer, the rhythms are insane to follow for cutoffs)
I fell in love with this musical back as a teenager in the 90s. Listening to this song today, some 30 years later as a Mom, it truly does hit differently. Heather is going to kill this role!!
