And I also saw a 1 night concert performance in the summer of 2019 starring Tony Yazbeck, Alice Ripley, Kate Shindle, and Betsy Wolfe.
Hooooo boy. Heather started singing and every hair on my body stood on end! Unbelievably magical. She’s so amazing, I can’t wait to see more from her performance in this ❤️
I saw heather headley play the witch at the muny in I believe 2016. Absolutely phenomenal. If u can see this, along with the rest of this amazing cast, her performance is a must-see.
I'm seeing this on my birthday, and my excitement is indescribable.The cast is bonkers, the show is brilliant, and on the still very fresh wounds of Sondheim's death...its going to bring whole new meaning to every lyric for me.
Partly because they rehearse for 1-2 weeks and then perform for another 2 weeks. So since the entire process takes less than a month, you’re able to get Neil Patrick Harris, Sara Bareilles, Gavin Creel, Denee Benton, and on and on despite their normally busy schedules. Before covid, Lincoln Center often did 1 or 2 night concert performances of beloved shows in February and they got similarly amazing casts because of the short run.

Had the blessing of seeing Heather Headley in Aida. She’s a force to be reckon with. Have the blessing of seeing ms Bernadette Peters a few times in south Jersey so her witch is pretty tough. But this cast will be very very very lovely!!!!!

I love how Sondheim CDs are people's gateway to musical theater as a kid. It's the same as Rich Dad Poor Dad for real estate investors. When they happen, they feel like such personal discoveries to kids, maybe that's why these people become so obsessive over these pursuits as adults.

I wish Broadway were more accessible. Of course it is incredible to see performers live, but most people simply can't afford $275 a piece for tickets. And that's assuming they're already in New York City. I hope they record and release this like Hamilton, I will be heartbroken if I don't see this cast.
Ohhhh wow!!!!! I wish I was living in NYC just to be able to go see shows on BROADWAY like this one!!! I went back in 2018 with my then 16 year old daughter and we saw “Chicago “ and it was a total blast for both of us. But , since I live in Québec, I have to travel to New York to see any show but I go every time I have the money to spare and we aren’t in a pandemic situation. Wish everyone who will be lucky enough to see this a very good show!
It’s not on Broadway - it’s a production for Encores City Center, which only plays for five or six performances, period. That’s why it’s sold out. I have been to many, many Encores shows, and they are usually fantastic.
