  • Filming yourself in public is hard on a good day, and REALLY hard when you're anxious. I don't consider myself an anxious person, which is why I'm documenting this period of my life where it's somewhat overwhelming and a new feeling for me.

Well done John. Great to see candour like this.

I can definitely relate and I've had lifelong OCD/anxiety myself! This may sound silly or even "too simple" but stopping for a moment and taking some slow deep breaths helps me every time. (Deep breath in and hold it for 4 seconds...let it all out and repeat X4 or 5.) It slows your mind down as well as your body and you'll feel more level. Medical cannabis has helped me too! And guided meditation.🙂

I really appreciate your comprehensive comment, thank you!
I think I'll give the slow deep breaths a go, it can't hurt that's for sure
Interesting to learn what other methods worked too, thank you for sharing :)

Not sure why the algorithm recommended this to me but I guess it knows me too well. Very relatable and interesting to hear about how you deal with that sort of stuff. Forcing myself to talk to a camera in public sounds like an absolute nightmare to me so hats off to you!
As a non-Brit I'm curious which part of the country you're from? Your accent sounds cool!

Ah thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it :)
And I'm from Yorkshire, which is roughly right in the middle of the UK, or 'Up North' as it's known to others from the UK

Seems like the algorithm brought me here as well! I'm a self-employed non-Brit living in the UK, and I find this content really relatable. Good luck on your journey
