If you want some more content, I recommend the Japanese Tropius. It's a legit tech rn in JP. Sitrus berry + harvest, leech seed/protect/wide guard/air slash Leech seed provides disruption and constant value, and the rest of the set supports and stalls hard af. It also gives value to Dozo combos bc you can pop leech seed, then pull the dozo combo. You get the healing and DoT, and if they swap out to get rid of seed, they burn a turn letting your Dozo set up more for free It's really strong and I recommend looking into it. It's seeing use in JP online tournaments
@@LSparkzwz Air Slash flinch chance helps disrupt and stall. Also, plenty of fighting types and the air slash lets you clear amoonguss Just a solid, consistent stab option that provides more value for your team. Doubling down into tropius just makes it easier for your opponent to play around
@@rmishuta1998 I mostly play trick room anyway so I can avoid speed investment all together. Garg + spiritomb is really hard to take off the board even with a double steel weakness.
I'm confused why people forgot about Garganacl and rediscovering it being good. Pre Series 1 ladder, a lot of it was going around iron defense/body press with salt cure. Was annoying and strong. Then people just forgot about dude, crazy. I had one as ghost tera but poison is better
With garganacl poison coming through It looks to me more and more like toadscruel isnt the hero we deserve but he is the hero we need. Absolutely wild that there is no type or pokemon in game that is immune to the salt cure DoT.
They were right to be watching it lol, great 'mon. Ability is insane, it has an attack that does double versus some of its best checks and versus two very common Tera types, great bulk, etc.
Honestly speaking, I wanted to use as few new pokemon (for some reason pretty unknown to me, call me a freak idc XD ) in my team as possible, but I find so much value in them. Like now I'm kinda abusing my Cetitan/Maushold duo and it's so great for my playstyle. I need some other options too in my team and need to swap 2 pokemon which I'm not so happy about (I'm still new to VGC and basically I'm trying to find my style) and after I battled some battles against Garganacl and now seeing this video, I think one of this spot will be Garganacl's. It's a force to be reckoned with for sure.
I'm not really a competitive person, but when I first caught my Nacli Crystal (without knowing anything about the 'mon) I looked at her ability and went: yes. Then she evolved and I looked at her level-up move and went: *yes.*
There’s other options like Tera ghost since you take only half damage from ghost types via Purifying Salt so dark type moves are your only weakness, and Tera grass, water, or steel for bulk and mixing up type weaknesses. Poison is mainly used to deal with Toxic spikes and Glimmora’s Toxic debris.
No it's a very good one but not the only choice. I mean water pretty good since currently it's not many electric types being used besides rotom and Kilowattrel
When you just have to be absolutely sure, only Flamigo can run Protect, Detect, Quick Guard and Wide Guard.
I guess Flamigo can be the ultimate protector
You know it!! you got a run, protect and detect, For anyone who has imprison, protect, right?
So you'll get at a failed move every third turn or so?
Tbh, replace detect or protect with Scrappy Close Combat and this sounds like a legit VGC moveset to me
No attacks?
i’m just amazed gamefreak finally managed to make a defensive rock-type that’s actually good
Just needed a regional mechanic to change its type when needed lol.
@@DoTheAstralPlane that + exclusive access to one of the best defensive abilities and most busted moves in the game
What's interesting is that garganacl's set is almost identical in singles (the only difference is it runs stealth rocks instead of wide guard)

I can’t tell you how happy I was to find a ghost Tera, 0 speed Naclstack in one of my boxes. Was perfect when I wanted to try giving Garg a shot
Wild tera naclstack with 0spd iv, your a lucky one
Why is 0 speed important?
@@Aeirion it’s likely to be slower and Is more likely it goes first in Trick Room

Within a few days if playing the game I knew mausehold, gargancle, anihilape, ghouldengo etc would be used by everyone
I never really knew how it worked before I watched this and this saved me a lot of time.

garganacl has an unavoidable passive damage and is tanky af with strong ability
Added Garganacl w to my Trick Room team cause I needed a good Wide Guard user and saw my win rate go way up! Even had a few rage quit DCs 😂👏🏽👏🏽

Soak + Salt Cure? Don't even have to do them in a specific order.
bit too slow for VGC, using up a whole turn to kill one mon in 4 turns is kind of poor compared to Tatsu-Dozo or any other good core

HOW DO YOU COUNTER IT
Hey Ray are you going to be competing in any tournaments this year?

garganacl makes your opponents salty 🧂

There's only 2 proper ways to garganacl and that's (gar-gan-ikle) or (garga- n.a.c.l)
Garganacci

I only lost to garganacl once in my lifetime, it's usually very easy to beat for me
You should really compete in regionals then! Wow!
Glad you had a while lifetime fighting a newly released pokemon. Are you a time traveller, perhaps?

Bruh this mon is getting so much attention. Yall gonna get my boy banned.
