I think my favourite depictions of Lex Luthor are the ones in which he is depicted as RESENTING Superman. The specific kinds of resentment vary (he feels Superman makes humanity look pathetic, he feels Superman makes humanity lazy, he feels Superman is celebrated for achieving things that are easy for him but difficult for humanity, etc.) but they always make him a more compelling villain.
Superman TAS, Justice League and JLU, My Adventures with Superman, and Superman & Lois all handled his villains well. Only one of those is live action. While i didn't like them fusing Bizzaro with Doomsday, it still made for a compelling story with the relationship with Lois.
Regarding Zod and Doomsday: MoS did make Zod a reflection of Clark, but sure, they could've added a bit more so that he's more like the source material. The only additions that I can see being given to dceu doomsday is just doing what superman and lois did with bizarro (which was just further expanded upon version dceu doomsday already). As for comic storyline that I'd want to be adapted: It's never gonna happen since people always pick the same 4 or 5 storylines, but I would want Superman Unchained, Psi-war, H'el on Earth, Men of Tomorrow, or anything from the 18 issues that Grant Morrison wrote for action comics. Throw in that relatively recent warworld comic by Philip Kennedy Johnson too.
