I got the blue titanium with the gold groove and it is gorgeous! The quality of this thing is fantastic and although it's super light weight it is as solid as a rock. I love how the blade is big for such a small overall closed length. The fit and finish are definitely in the class of other brands in the same price range. I messed up and stripped the pivot screw using a T7 instead of a T8 and I called customer service and asked if I could order a hardware kit from them. They were incredibly nice and accommodating and the kits were cheap and came with every single screw, washer, bearing, and spacer in the knife. It also shipped surprisingly fast. I think I had it in just over 2 weeks.
One of my favorite qualities about the civivi line is the diversity between models. From the McKenna to the Statera every knife feels unique. WE has Civivi in a great spot in the market. Hopefully the kitefin is the first of many WE knives to hit the market in that mild ramp up from Civivi to WE.
I said the same thing, Bryan, this thing is a smaller more expensive Backlash! Blade shape is damn near identical, really nice knife, wish I could afford one!
The marble was out when i got one so i ended up with the shred cf. fantastic knife at for the price. I ended up ordering the blue spiral pattern as well when it became available. I certainly hope they continue in this direction.
I ordered the 2001D its the blue titianum with the spiral pattern i liked the carbon fiber one it just only came with a bead blast blade mine has a satin blade it should be here tomorrow
Definitely a great knife! I got the version with blue rings and love it. My only small complaint is that the jimping on the flipper tab feels a little too sharp. It does make the flipper tap super grippy, but flipping it too many times kinda hurts my finger. I feel like a smooth flipper tab like on the gent would be perfect, the detent is so good and the filpper tab is large enough that I don't think people will have problem opening it.
Have to say this is one of my favorite WE knife so far. Just beautiful. I will probably continue to to accumulate Civivi models simply because of the price points but the look of this one is perfect.
I just purchased a We MRF so it will probably be May before I can get one so here is hoping I can get one. I still want a Civivi Incite with damascus. Thanks again for a wonderful review.
I've been waiting for WE to invade the 150-200 dollar range. They have had precious few offerings in that range. I can't wait to see what else they've got coming in this range. Unrelated edit--speedsafe needs to be done away with. It's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
I had my finger on the trigger on this exact model but it kind of bothers me to have such nice CF on the front with the bland black anno on the back. Then the bronze maybe doesn’t go as well together. Maybe I’ll try for the milled Ti instead. But for the materials and brand quality, it’s a pretty sweet deal
Very nice, but I wish they'd done a stonewash or a satin finish on the blade. Also a bit sad that they didn't sink the clipseat into the scales. I'm very happy to see WE Knife coming out with some more subdued designs. But for now I chose to buy me the Civivi Governor, a Kizer Zipslip and a Kizer Shoal instead, and that still leaves me some money to buy a few good brews🍻 Might still get me this one at some point in time ... given enough beer and money to spare😋
Anyone reading this and wondering about the pricing, go visit AliExpress and check out the combo-deals on Kizer's 10th anniversary sale going on this week! I got the Shoal and the Zipslip at just € 111,60 whereas normally they would've cost € 141,27 on AliExpress or upwards of € 263 from a European retailer😖
That knife is beautiful. This also happens with some ZT’s also where I always am turned off by the pocket clips landing right on the frame lock. Does this ever give issues? Do these clips actually touch the frame lock, and when you push the lockbar open to unlock does it actually push the clip out also? I’m probably overreacting but I am always hesitant on buying framelocks that have the clip right over the lockbar slit
I’m guessing when there is a overtravel stop that will not let the lockbar go past the backside of the handle so the lockbar is always flush or below that handle surface therefore not even able to push the clip out
The blade remind me very much of the backlash I have several of these But they're not my Favorite I think the Praxis Is my most favorite Civivi Or any of my other brands
great review …. great knife !! just one thing about the "personality" part of the in-house designs..... what about the 702 !! and the synchro… and the tyche !!!... and the DRAKON !! and perhaps the bishop and minitor ???? i got all of them just BECAUSE of the designs ( even the 703 would be an awsome design ! ) and…..it all "started" with the 604 !!……. just saying ?
@@SliceyDicey … well we can not all love the same designs i guess…. its like food or cars …. thats what makes us all unique….. its just that many times i think the same as you….but ok... not about we knives in-house knives :-)
This knife speaks to me like so many knives did in the sense that it was a "Good Deal" so I overlooked some flaws and made a purchase that I usually ended up selling on a secondary market 3-4 months later. Why not carbon fiber on both sides. I do think WE is the best Chinese production knife maker in China but not crazy about this one. I would rather save up my money and go with a Deacon or Bishop
Trail Blazer are you not familiar with frame locks? Why would there be carbon fiber on both sides? This thing opens/drops and cuts better than my usual daily ZT. Maybe I got a real nice one but it’s clearly better than my made in USA stuff and kizers/civivis in my experience.
@@SliceyDicey I couldn't find one, but now I see you had some thoughts on that matter at the end of McKenna review. You said you weren't going to make a comparison of those two, so my bad.
IMO, the benefit of deep carry clip is completely negated by the shiny bronze inserts. This shouts "look at the knife in my pocket!" much louder than a small corner of Ti or CF poking up. Huge miss on their part - id probably get this if they made a clip without the bling.
Even some Civivi knives have recessed clips for less than half the price (thinking of the Incite). One of only a few things keeping it from perfect I'd change on this one. Awesome knife.
I ordered the CF marble one. Returned a few days later. I have big hands and this is a small knife. It's also too light for me and didn't deploy 100%. It's a gorgeous knife just not for me.
I've known We makes good knives, but so far their stuff was either more $$ than I wanted to spend or the blade and/or handle was too thick or it had milled non-deep carry clip. This We fixes all of that, so I picked one up, and it's awesome. The clip really bothered me on mine, it snagged on my pocket every single time I tried to put it in my pocket. So I bent it to give a little more room at that leading edge, and now it works great! Side profile of the re-bent clip :: i.imgur.com/JcRkKw5.jpg
Phil Gowan You don’t have to post this on every Chinese knife vid on RUclips, you’ve made your pigheaded ignorance quite clear already. Go panic buy some more toilet paper and leave reality to the adults.

Zelrik named this knife after the Kitefin shark. I got the blue with the gold groove. It’s so close to being the perfect knife. 👍🏽🔪
Man I really love the look of that carbon fiber. And love the backlash so I’m pretty stoked to get this one
I have the one with blue stripe. I really like this knife. The edge is super thin the tip is very delicate but good. I'm pretty happy with it
I just got mine in the mail this morning. Got the black one with the blue rings on the show side. Really digging it so far
what's it like

That one is bad ass. Hope you enjoy it
1:02 That glimpse of the bronze ano circles threw me off. My Miscreant has the same holes.
I am thinking about getting one of these but I wish that that the clip position had higher priority over the lanyard hole.
Got the blue circle pattern model on the way. My first WE knife and probably not my last. Lol
Really nice looking knife!!
I might have to make if my first WE knife.

Just traded for one of these in cf shred and I am pumped!
That is a good looking knife! You got the right version IMO.

Sweet design!
I would love to see this night in a civivi G10 scales S35vn
I think only bladehq had the wrong weight listed for the all titanium versions. Everyone else shows 2.88oz, same as the We knife website.

Always watch slicey before buying it
I wonder if the shred carbon fiber is a smooth shiny/slick finish similar to the marbled or is it a matte more textured finish?
I’d imagine it’s the same. WE carbon fiber tends to be on the slicker, shinier side, even amongst the Civivi knives.

How about battle to the death between Civivi McKenna and Real Steel Metamorph for those who are looking for entry level front flipper?
Dont have a Metamorph currently but I kinda feel like maybe I did that one?

Cost cutting is all I can think of.

Sold out 😡
Who's buying Chinese knives in 2020 post Covid 19?
That's just silly. Stop it. You don't get it through the mail.

Wow, this comment didn’t age well 😂 Somewhere, this guy is putting on rubber gloves to open his mail.
