You should review a mall called The Mines Shopping Mall.. it's a mid tier mall, but it's very unique. It has a river cruise boats literally inside the mall.
U need to do a part two video covering Mid Valley/Garden Mall, Publika, IPC/Ikea, Curve, MyTown/Ikea, BSC, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, 163 Mont Kiara Retail Park.
Back in the day.. the only mall in Bukit Bintang was Sungei Wang Plaza, BB Plaza and KL Plaza(Now Known as Farenheit) .. Pavilion used to be the Bukit Bintang Girls School (BBGS) 😅
Nice video but u missed many other malls such Midvalley, The gardens, Times Square, Sunway velocity, the Linc, Lalaport, Avenue K, Sungai wang, Starhill, Pavillion bukit jalel, The curve.
Also My Town, Sunway Putra, IOI Puchong, EkoCheras, Pavillion Damansara, Wangsa Walk, KL East mall, Bangsar Shopping center, Publika, 163 mont Kiara, 1 mont kiara
How can you miss Mid Valley Megamall !? haha... or should I say the Mid Valley family which includes The Gardens Mall too. It's one of the most frequented mall by people in Klang Valley. Even people from other state, Negeri Sembilan (1hr distance drive not inclusive of traffic congestion) will come and visit this mall during the weekends. It is a mid-tier mall for the former while the latter is with some higher end brands. You should try give it a go too =) When I was younger I used to enjoy big malls. Nowadays, I prefer to go to not too big malls. So as long it has all the things that I need. Probably it's just ageing preferences. For grocery shopping, Mid Valley has three different supermarkets (Jaya Grocer, Aeon, Aeon Big). More choices under one roof and you get to compare prices too! Tough not as many activities like 1U for sure. For food option wise is definitely great too.
Pavilion & Suria KLCC is a must (ISETAN supermarket, great for lunch choices) and the KLCC park is a good place to unwind , One Utama n Sunway Pyramid, PJ/Subang area, IKEA Damansara is another must go, TRX Exchange for everything new. And all have a cinema in the mall, apart from 1 Utama that have 2 , TGV n GSC.
I enjoy these lists too!! as a person who hop malls a lot.. Lol 😂 You can try Amcorp Mall on the weekend only where they have the oldest flea market in a mall here that sells everything from collection toys, vinyl records, vintage stuff, a good place to do your Vlog, it's also just in front of Taman Jaya LRT station too 😊
My top 10 shopping malls in Malaysia: 1. Pavilion KL 2. Suria KLCC 3. Mid Valley Megamall 4. Sunway Pyramid 5. IOI City Mall 6. 1 Utama Shopping Centre 7. The Gradens Mall 8. Berjaya Times Square 9. Empire Shopping Gallery 10. Gurney Plaza Honourable mention: 1. Campbell Complex 2. Pertama Complex Malaysia has over 600 shopping malls across the country. But honestly, I love old shopping malls that sell vintage items, handcrafted goods, and authentic antiques. It gives me nostalgia and peace of mind. Central Market, The Antique Mall, Amcorp Mall, Shaw Centrepoint, Terminal One, Hock Choon Supermarket, Bazar Karat.
Many Malaysians make malls as indoor recreational centre while window shopping like brisk walking, jogging, exercise in gyms and also for family or friends gathering whether in shopping wise, or eatery or watching movies together etc, thus most malls giving a good side effect indeed..😃
Didn't expect you'd get into this sort of topic but i kinda enjoyed it. One reason I keep coming back to your channel is to hear your honest, no holds barred, opinion. Keep it up and lean away from any intention towards political correctness. I hope you'll do part 2 of other renown KL malls which you've not gone through yet. Btw, where do you get your best meat supply in KL nowadays even a premium mercato failed to provide?
One of the reasons I like the Suria KLCC is that it's many memories especially about Formula 1 Grand Prix, it's the formula 1 Petronas racing car exhibit at the Suria KLCC entrance, everytime seeing it makes me miss our formula 1 Grand Prix events in Sepang , one of the best and interesting racing circuit in the world, it's quite nostalgic and memorably..
Awesome, this was very entertaining and informative! Thank you! All these malls, wow. In November will stay near One Utama and the Curve which has an interesting big Korean grocery store, K Plus food market... heard of that? But I'll definitely check some others too.
Suria KLCC, Berjaya Times Square n Sg Wang Plaza are my favourites in KL. Since I m staying in Petalimg Jaya Area I love to go to One Utama Shopping Mall, IKEA n the Curve.
Great list and review. I agree with much of what you said. I haven't been to all of them but I'll have to check out the "S" and "A" tier malls I haven't already been to the next time I'm in KL. And as others have commented, there are so many other malls in the Klang Valley to visit and review as well. Like you said, the mall culture in Asia is so different from what it is in the US. The amazing malls...just one more reason why KL is one of my favorite cities in the world!
You missed 2 major popular malls like One Utama also one of the biggest in the world. Even have instagrammable roof top garden. And also MyTown Cheras which is connected to IKEA.
NU Sentral for tourists, not too hot, not too cold. Cheaper accomodation for a week's stay where you don't have to shop for groceries. Central to transportation.
You miss one of the most popular mall in Klang Valley, which is Mid Valley Gardens Mall. If there is an S-Tier, I would put 1 Utama and Mid Valley as the best mall in Malaysia.
Some tips for anyone interested - Bangsar Village - village grocer - one of the best I have been to for range in KL 🎉 and Ben’s cafe best food and coffee ❤
I'm a true blue KL native for 7 generations and live in Bukit Bintang. As much as people might think that the tourists are the one patronising Pavilion, Suria & TRX, 75% of ROI & spending power comes from the local KL /Malaysians. My go-to mall now is The Exchange TRX cause it has everything that Pavilion & Suria have and don't have
This is a great video on KL malls that correlate to my experience. I am fully agreeable to your tier rating. However, you have missed out 5 huge malls in the city centre, namely SG Wang, Sogo, Lalaport, Times Square & Sunway velocity. Up and coming soon next year will be the designer concept, the King of all malls ,the PNB 118 malls.
Pavilion Bukit Bintang is not old, it's actually one of the newest malls in Bukit Bintang area. The oldest has to be Sungei Wang/Bukit Bintang Plaza. Edit: Dude, here's my suggestion, next time you do a list like this, put up the list at the beginning and then do your review. Personally I find it a bit boring cause you just went on and on 😂 That aside, Kota Raya was a mall I went to during my school days decades ago. My favourite was a 2nd hand bookshop in there. I used to rent books from. They had a system where you pay RMx amount and when you return it, they pay you back RMx amount. Haven't been to that mall or have any intention to go there at all. You've also missed 3 malls, off the top of my head. 1. Mid Valley megamall, 2. IOI Mall in Puchong. The surrounding areas has tons of eating places, especially this area call Bandar Puteri in Puchong and the last one, 3. Mines Wonderland in Seri Kembangan, this mall made the headlines recently when a couple of entitled beings went fishing inside the mall. Google it, the history of the place is very interesting. It's built on one of the largest mining land in Malaysia and apparently the lake is very, very deep. Someone said you can actually fit half of the Petronas twin towers in the lake. I haven't been to that place in many years, I'll probably take a trip there one of these days. The last time I was there, I remember seeing huge fishes in the river that runs through the mall. The setup is like canals of Venice but imagine the river actually running through the mall itself
Low Yat has donevery well for what it is...myself have cumulatively spent RM10k building and upgrading my PC rig over 10 years now...with my trusty shop in there.
You should have go to wet market in KL call Pasar Borong Selangor at Seri Kembangan. All kinds of fresh meat & seafood is available. Mercato definitely will not be the best selling for fresh meat.
Hi Ben, I had left comments before, but never got any feed back. So I quit. Someone even said you're antisocial.. lol Well, I guess it was because you were new to my country at that time and new to YT. So instead of covering Nasi Kandar, which is great, maybe do another one about grocers', since you too enjoy some good steak, as do we. Try checking out Jaya Grocers, they do carry good grass fed steaks & affordable (some cuts) & B.E.N's independent store aka B.I.G and Village Grocer in Bangsar, and Ikano Power centre in PJ (same building as IKEA Damansara. Pretty close to One Utama - they also have one in Publika Mont Kiara, and another in 163 retail park in Mont Kiara as well (I think) Another probably in the tier 3 in your list is Starling Mall in Damansara Utama PJ aka Uptown Damansara. It's more of a commercial plus food kind of mall, the surrounding neighbourhood has some wide choices of food that might interest you, and your viewers. Nothing fancy though. If you are ever in the Damansara neighbourhood, do hit us up, you might find it interesting to talk to another American here which is my other half from New England (Boston) area. Cheers ! Have a fun Sunday!
Thanks for the ranking & breakdowns of the KL malls Ben. I’ll be in KL this Jan and I’ve got an iPad mini to repair that I’m bringing with. Could you recommend a good repair outfit there? Thanks
Just curious, why 14 instead of the usual 10? In any case, thanks for a great post... also, in Malaysia, or just the Federal Territories? Each state has its own favourite, or best malls 😁
Interesting mall comparisons. I used to stay in Bangsar as a kid, way back then. Obviously, it was very different then. Wait, have you not been to Mid Valley Megamall?
May be you should make a ranking video for the dying malls too (like Kota Raya) :-) Or those malls that are supposed to soar but never made it, like BBCC.
Just a suggestion. Why don't you react to singers from South East Asia, Kpop, J-pop. It's a long rabbit hole. Lots of content n you can be anywhere. Check out One OK Rock.
if you are planning to create a Tier List for Nasi Kandars around KL area - I suggest you make it fair - ie: all of the mixed/combo must be of the same kind
You're doing a fantastic job! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Midvalley megamall + The Garden for me...just a few steps from that hotel entrance and voila, u already in a mall.. But my spouse and kids prefer Suria KLCC..
I wonder how Sungei Wang Plaza can crawl back for today's competition. It turn into a ghost town. Now it's getting better. This one used to be the best in Asia. BB Plaza's removal is part of the downfall.
I would put Suria KLCC in the A list. As a KLite in late 50s, I find the whole of KLCC iconic and I go to the Isetan there at least once a week to pick up fruits and vegetables. The quality of these two food items at Isetan KLCC are the freshest compared to other supermarkets. Of course, some food items are priced at premium but you get what you pay for. Nevertheless for fruits, they have discounted price over the weekend. Hence, not that bad. The Petronas Philharmonic Hall is also located there, it added a cultural element to the otherwise another "boring" mall . In addition, the park, the children playground, the symphony lake, the Petronas Sains Discovery Centre, the Kinokuniya bookstore, each provides a fun family oriented activity. It was an underground pedestrian crossing and not connected to each other like how it is today.
If you stay in Bangsar, that means you are close to Mid Valley Mall, one of the biggest malls in Kuala Lumpur. On the Low Ground level there is a food court and connected to the adjacent mall which is The Garden. The Garden is a mall that sells branded items such as Suria, TRX and Pavilion. I went there just to hang out drinking coffee at Coffe Beans.

Thank you
Ben, you are more KL than anyone who is staying in KL now. Because you can elaborate the malls so well. 😮😊😮
You should review a mall called The Mines Shopping Mall.. it's a mid tier mall, but it's very unique. It has a river cruise boats literally inside the mall.
Great information, Heading there on the 2nd of November for the first time from New Zealand.

Naik Bas Mini, pergi Pertama Complex. Sogo belum ada lagi.
Sogo was Sulaiman Court flats, then demolished became an open space where upcoming band played on some weekends, then we have Sogo 😅
Sungai Wang Legend 🎉
Great new topic. Good guide not just for foreigners but for locals too.
Nice video but u missed many other malls such Midvalley, The gardens, Times Square, Sunway velocity, the Linc, Lalaport, Avenue K, Sungai wang, Starhill, Pavillion bukit jalel, The curve.
Also My Town, Sunway Putra, IOI Puchong, EkoCheras, Pavillion Damansara, Wangsa Walk, KL East mall, Bangsar Shopping center, Publika, 163 mont Kiara, 1 mont kiara

For 20 years ive been to OU, but never freaking memorise the mall. Old wing new wing and now the new building connecting to mrt.
Enjoying this. Have a nice day Ben 🎉
Thank you very much! Have a nice day too 🙌
Ben, tier list is a great idea, and helpful info for tourists. 👍
I enjoy these lists too!! as a person who hop malls a lot.. Fantastic video Ben! Really loved how you went into depth on this topic. 😎
Hi Ben, thank you for the informative video on KL malls . Really enjoyed them!

Hard working Ben 👍
I agree with all the tiers and selections shown here. Well done Ben, and I've just returned home from IOI Mall Putrajaya.
Damn, you're Malaysian mall knowlodge is crazy!. Hahaha. My favourite mall so far (as you know we build new malls like every year lol) is MyTown.
I live abroad and I’ll go to KL for the first time .After watching this, ( thanks to you) I had an interest in Kota Raya Shopping Centre.

Love this new content! Looking forward to that nasi kandar video 😊
You miss one of the most popular mall in Klang Valley, which is Mid Valley Gardens Mall. If there is an S-Tier, I would put 1 Utama and Mid Valley as the best mall in Malaysia.
I think Mid Valley n Gardens Mall re great.
Love your content Ben! Im a new subscriber!
Do visit klang, the royal town of Selangor and the beuatiful our lady or lourdes church and riverside mosque, as well as the pavilion bukit jalil mall
Some tips for anyone interested - Bangsar Village - village grocer - one of the best I have been to for range in KL 🎉 and Ben’s cafe best food and coffee ❤

Ben is back in Malaysia and back to being prolific vlogger again!
Ben Youre getting More interesting. Try to research Malaysian music scene. No foreign RUclipsr covered this
You are most welcome to visit massive malls in 1-Utama, PJ and Pyramid, Sunway
IOI CityMall is the top ranking
Low Yat has donevery well for what it is...myself have cumulatively spent RM10k building and upgrading my PC rig over 10 years now...with my trusty shop in there.
1 UTAMA is the best... haha.. TRX is C IMHO (the rich go there to shop while the poor go there to window shopping)..
Hi Ben ? Please make Usa ultimate shopping tier list.
You could consider I-City malls in Klang and Ampang Point in Ampang
Its a crime to not have TRX, Midvalley n TimesSquare in that list.
Amcorp Mall for Collectibles and Toys. Recommended.
You should have go to wet market in KL call Pasar Borong Selangor at Seri Kembangan. All kinds of fresh meat & seafood is available. Mercato definitely will not be the best selling for fresh meat.

TQ for sharing... Most of these malls are for High end people n tourists @ expatriates guests 🎉😅
May be you should make a ranking video for the dying malls too (like Kota Raya) :-) Or those malls that are supposed to soar but never made it, like BBCC.
1U is at the top of list. 👍
Just a suggestion. Why don't you react to singers from South East Asia, Kpop, J-pop. It's a long rabbit hole. Lots of content n you can be anywhere. Check out One OK Rock.
Nice explained video
MALAYSIA FTW. I am also from the west and if this place wasn't so far from my family i'd move there in a split second.
This is great😂
Good video, just wondering why La La Port didn't make on the list?
1 Utama the best. Its has got everything you can think of and not think of.
if you are planning to create a Tier List for Nasi Kandars around KL area - I suggest you make it fair - ie: all of the mixed/combo must be of the same kind
I think u missed one big mall..midvalley Megamall and the Gardens. It is a A level mall
Yeah. Miss the old days of those 2 mall though compared to now. Only improvement is level 3
U forgot to review midvalley mega mall, arguably one of the more popular malls located nearby to bangsar.
Yeah exactly, malls are like our second home
Nu sentral is the best! aanything for convenience n accessibility
Malls now are fitted with extreme sports to cater to sportmen and women. Even skydiving.
If nasi kandar tier list gotta be from whole Malaysia top ones bro.. More fair like that.
I wonder how Sungei Wang Plaza can crawl back for today's competition. It turn into a ghost town. Now it's getting better. This one used to be the best in Asia. BB Plaza's removal is part of the downfall.
Is that a band shirt? What genre of music that you usually listening to?
Wallcome to my country, the most fair and unity country in this world! People from many religions and skin can stay together with peace!
Waiting for the 118 mall to open and it will compete with the trx.
Definitely a mall which is worth spending a day there.
Fahrenheit 88 was previously known as KL Plaza. Grand Millennium Hotel was formerly The Regent Hotel. There used to be a Planet Hollywood at KL Plaza. The underground passage which link Fahrenheit 88 to Pavilion has been there since they completed KL Plaza and The Regent. It was an underground pedestrian crossing and not connected to each other like how it is today.
For me 1 Utama is the best
Ben how do you rate our mall
The Imago Kota Kinabalu...the mall you have visited recently...?
haven't been to Kota Raya in so many years. no intention to go anytime...
So nostalgic!
Me too. Those were the days in the nineties 🤔😁
You should go to Mid Valley before doing this video. Potentially an A or B type..
Where is lalaport, berjaya times square, mytown mall, avenue k, one utama, the curve, mid valley megamall, the garden?
lalaport what got 😂
Do react to K-pop. Their fandom is huge n in no time your views and subscribers will shoot up. Check out BTS, Stray kids, Enhypen.
ONE UTAMA ON TOP
where is midvalley,thegarden and bukitjalilpavillion?
they need to revamp Suria KLCC.. so outdated.. next year i heard there will be another luxury Mall under Merdeka 118.. in the second quarter of 2025..
not a good list, without MidValley mall and berjaya times sq with a roller coaster inside!! blamesphous to KL
You only do 2 videos in Jakarta? But why?
