I bought VertuoNext and have to return it because it is hard to open and close lid therefore I order the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe which is easy to close and open lid ,, though VertuoNext is very coffee maker ( had for two weeks ) ,, hopefully this machine is good as other one ,,,
I have a Plus and I think this is really a plus versus Next. Buying Next only for possible upgrades is useless because there are not many profiles achieveable based on the fixed hardware and if innovative machines will be introduced on the market it is better to buy the new hardware then to continue using Vertuo. Anyhow the price of Vertuo is not so high to be interested in uograde capability of Next. Conclusion: Plus is to use then Next ( better is the enemy of good in this case) .
I love my Vertuon Next but, lately I have noticed it doesn't make my coffee as frothy as it first did. I have had to replace my machine 3 times now. Have you noticed this issue? Customer Support was no help.

I had both machines-- I got rid of the next so quickly...stick to the plus, its the superior choice of the who without a doubt.

I believe on some if not all the machines you can change the amount of water that the particular pod will use.
