I have been searching for and watching resolve / fusion videos for weeks - months even - and only just came across your channel. You have hands down absolutely the best, most detailed and clear videos out there. I really don’t understand why your channel isn’t showing up alongside others which are nowhere near as comprehensive and precise as yours. Thank you so much, please keep making them. On the project I am presently working on I have experienced a few, very specific issues that no one seemed to know the answer to, but you have made entire videos dedicated to specifically on these topics. I cannot express how appreciative I am. Great work sir!
I've been looking for the snap function for a while now. Not being able to move the keyframes by whole numbers gave me headaches. Thanks for the explanation, great tutorial
Thank you, great tutorial. I know it has been some time since posting, but I have a question. I'm using DaVinci + Fusion 19 Studio. I have a big composition and I created a Text+ filter like in this tutorial. But then, all the parameters (of the nodes) that I can keyframe are gone and I don't know how to display them in order to modify the keyframes. These parameters also seem to be gone in this video 4:36. Any ideas about how to display them when using a filter? Otherwise, this filter thing is not very useful. Thanks in advance for any answer.
Darren thats a good intro explanation. could do another one showing keyboard shortcuts to move keyframes without doing it with a mouse or selecting a certain parameter etc. thank you
Good idea. A tutorial based on a keyboard only workflow. Let me look into it. Have a few other items I need to do first but I will put this on on the list.
Perhaps you can make a video about how to change the keyboard shortcuts in fusion? I know it is possible because i have heard other people talking about remapping Command+P to something more convenient for example, but it doesn’t seem possible in the keyboard remapping controls to even access, let alone change, fusion shortcuts… (if anyone else reading this knows how to do it, please feel free to reply! )
Very nice, Darren, THANKS! However, even going full screen on my 27" monitor, all the tiny text (such as node labels, context menus, etc.) in your video is blurry and indistinguishable. DaVinci's low-contrast fonts make it worse. Perhaps in future vids you could zoom in on the area you're talking about so we could READ that text? Even so, this is just what I was looking for.
@@darrenfrenette2597 Excellent, Darren, and on behalf of everyone out here with less than perfect eyesight (like I had when I was a USAF pilot), THANK YOU.
Hi David, just released new video with some different editing techniques. I am not fully happy with it just yet but will continue to polish. Let me know if this are a bit easier to see or if there is more I can do. ruclips.net/video/Rkwitcv63YE/видео.html
@@darrenfrenette2597 Hi, Darren; the new "Upload transition" video is MUCH BETTER in terms of being able to see what you're doing. Thank you so much for that. However, there were some places, such as at 8:05, where you did a quick selection on a top-line menu that was too fast to catch and too small to see. But this vid is a wonderful move in the right direction. Are you using only Resolve, or also Camtasia, or what other screencast software? Just today I posted video #99 on my David's Tutorials channel, so I can identify with all your learning challenges. I would be happy to discuss various production techniques with you. If you like, shoot me an email via the contact page on www.DavidsTutorials.com.
Great video. Any way to move the items around in the keyframes list? I had to figure out a work-around by renaming them alphabetically then sorting the list by name. Seems like you should be able to drag items higher or lower in the keyframes list.
I have not yet really dug into the Color page too much yet. Looking forward but still so much to explore in Fusion. My original plan for this channel was a number of different software packages, but it seems Resolve will be the focus for quite some time.
You can say more about how to organize and see only the nodes that i have animated on the keyframe timeline? I'm transitioning from after effects, and doing pretty simple moGraph animations on Fusion, but is super hard to only see my keyframes i need to make selections all the time. We can make a filter to see only keyframed node?
When you create a filter and switch to it, why aren't the keyframes shown on the text object? And also what I was missing is the ability to copy keyframes and move them so I could only key the start, duplicate the keyframes, move them to the end and invert the numbers.
How can we delete just one keyframe point, for example @13:08 to delete one of those one dot keyframe points? I know how to delete the entire animation comprising many points (by going, in the Inspector, and right click for shape animation, and click 'remove') but I wonder how to delete only one keyframe point? It might be worth having a very short tutorial just on how to delete keyframes. If you search youtube for - Davinci Resolve delete keyframe, there are no tutorials on this topic. It might be covered in other people's tutorials, but that piece of information is not easy for newbies to search for.
@@saadshah7857 That was the first thing I tried, but didn't get rid of those small upright white lines, neither on the main frame counter line - nor in the Keyframe or Spline tabs.
For sure can be finicky. I noticed sometimes if you have focus set on a track, you must click elsewhere to shift focus away then back. Also the fact that the control points don't stay highlighted after selection makes it difficult to see what is selected. Downloading 16.2.2 now, will check it our tonight to see if there are any improvements to this editor.
Great! No egotrippy intro, no rambling, just straight to business. It's very appreciated. Subscribed
