    Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
    With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

      That's how we do it as well. We put zip ties on the right, and it's the color of the scv (JD new style). If you don't have the different color scv covers (JD older style or other brands) we put the number of zip ties for the corresponding scv number. Makes future hook-up faster.

    Easy way to know which hydraulic hose goes where. With the hoses hooked up correctly, take a file and file some small notches on one hose connector. Of course don't file any metal that goes into the connector! My connectors on my tractor are vertical. So the noticed hose always goes on top. Always hooked up correctly.

    Put zip ties on the hydraulic hoses to mark them. 1 zip tie = lever #1, 2 zip ties = lever #2 and so on. Put a black tie on the left hose and a white one on the right hose. Easy to remember that white is always on the right.

  • @robertreznik9330
    @robertreznik9330 4 года назад

    I mark the left hose tips for the cart by marking wrench area with a grinder when I buy. the gate hose tip with a line with the hose two lines for the second. the auger, a line across the tip. and the spout with a cross on the left tip. It is simpler to do it than explain.

  • @bluegrallis
    @bluegrallis 4 года назад

    If you mark your hydraulic hoses in pairs, save the red tape to add to the hose you put on the right side of the outlet on the tractor. Use other colors to keep them in pairs, RED RIGHT. I did that years ago and save a lot of guessing or re-connecting.

    Like the videos! I see your cart has a clevis. ..you don't want to put the pin in a bind, so the hammer strap needs to be removed on the tractor side if you plan to keep it on that tractor. Also, when you put the 3 bolts back in after harvest make sure the threads are clean and no dirt or paint flakes under the hammerstrap support on the drawbar. (sounds super detailed, PM me and I'll tell you why)

    COLD ! you should be in Houston and South Texas.... I got in my pickup yesterday and the temp on the dash showed 120deg and that was with the sun shield in the dash.
    Three weeks ago we had a tropical storm that came through. It looks like the most of the rain was going to Beaumont, Tx. That Thursday I noticed the lights flicker and looked outside. All the street lights were on. I decided to shut things down and go home.
    The 8 minute, 2 mile drive to the house took 3 hours ! The streets had 1 1/2 foot of water !
    I ended up sitting in my truck across the street from my house for 2 hours!
    We got 12 inches of rain that day.
    Driving down the street at 10 mph I could hear the parking sensors of my truck beeping so the water was up to the bumper of my RAM truck.

    Zach I have a way of hooking all the hydraulic lines up the easy way for the 1st hydraulic outlet for the 2 lines that go in I put 1 zip tie around the 2 lines and I put 1 zip tie on the right coupler. So the 2nd coupler you put 2 zip ties on and 1zip tie on the right hydraulic hose So on the 3rd coupler you put 3 zip ties and 1 on the right hose meaning right coupler. And then I take a bungee cord and hang off the center hook of the 3pt hitch. With this method you can change the grain. Cart to another implement in less than 5 minutes and I always put every coupler in float position when hooking up and unlocking the hydraulic hoses so theres no pressure on the hydraulic hoses anytime. Hope this will save you time.
