    I want to buy a bait casting reel but had no clue where to start. This video definitely pointed me in the right direction and he mentioned features I didnt even think to consider. I'm confident I'll buy a reel and not regret it. Thanks.

    This is so well explained. I was really impressed by Jason's ability to (a) cover everything really thoroughly, (b) simplify it for beginners and explain terms easily. Very instructional, and obviously a good expert to choose for the purpose of this video! Thanks for this! :)

    This video here is one of reasons why I decided to go with Lew's reels. I live on the Mississippi gulf coast and fish for bass, and reds. We have a lot of brackish water, salt water and dirty water lol! This video helped me decide what on materials that won't corrode under these conditions. I now own 7 and they range from the inshore version up to the super duty. Thank you wired to fish!!!!! 👍🏼

    This is perfect. I've been wanting to buy a baitcaster for a while, Just bought my first ever bait-caster rod since there was a hundred dollar graphite rod on Clarence at Walmart for $35. Now all I need is reel to go with it. This video definitely helps get me started.

    Sorry you are wrong. The braking system controls the cast at the beginning and the tension controls it at the and. What you think why is the correct way to set it up so that the lure goes down slowly. This happens when the lure hits the water.... the tension brake doesnt allow that the spool runs further....but anyway, good video

    Hi nice video but what do all the letters mean on the bait cast reel along with the gear ratio

    • @Wired2Fish
      @Wired2Fish  6 лет назад

      You mean the Concept C, Concept A, Concept E? Basically it's a progression of materials. A are made with aluminum sides and is the basic workhorse reel. Then as you go up you will have a little higher end materials like Magnesium and better gearing and machining at higher price points. Basically making reels at all different price points depending on how much a guy wants to pay for increased performance. I have one E, one C and a bunch of As in the Concept series. I wish I had all E Series reels because they are so good. But that doesn't really fit my budget.

      Diabolical gaming the daiwa Lexa 300 is what I use. it has big gears, ALOT of line with the big spool, and alot of torque but u can still pull alot of line because of the large spool.

      It's called a Concept KP. I don't think it's in production any longer. It was the only magnesium reel they produced to my knowledge. - Jason

    I found that not to be true this is why fishermen should test these things for themselves for I have 11 set ups and three of them are baitcasters and not one has a ratio of 6:5.1 and I catch up very well that 7:1.1 and up is just a choice and more money out your pocket if you truly knows what you are doing you can take any one of those so called cheap casters I own and put those on the water who are using those expensive set ups I know for on lake Ontario I do it daily
