Congratulation 🎉
volvos are honestly so user friendly
"Hey Google" is one of the best features in this car..it's what we use to increase temperature nd in speed. Change radio stations, turn on rear wiper - you name it. Not to mention asking for directions. Eliminates touch control anxiety 100%. Much better than MBUX, imho. I have noticed that reviewers with iPhones neglect to highlight voice activation who's is an oversight. Otherwise, a good review.
I drove this vehicle on the autobahn between Amsterdam and Muenster (Germany), and it was super comfortable and very stable. Torque was awesome, the electric drive gives it the "instant off" feel when accelerating from the standstill.
How's reliability
@@Joe-eg7ml don't know. I rented the car in germany, currently don't own one.
I am in sales for Volvo. About 2.5 years or more now. I can say that the only major issues I have seen if any are software related. However there are updates that are fairly regular you can do even without bringing your vehicle in for service. Mechanical wise I haven't seen anything Major so far in my time selling them. Not on any New or slightly used Volvo that is. @@Joe-eg7ml
How expensive was it to rent it?
@@art.j.4559 Well , I rented it to travel on company business, it was not cheap. With full insurance included, the cost came out to around Eur1000 for 3 nights. At least 50% of the cost came from insurance.
As per every other Volvo video there will likely be numerous people who haven't owned them in the comments telling others how horribly unreliable they are.
Right. Or that they're Chinese. Gets tiring.
Automotive intetnet sphere lunacy basically
Killing time has become a career for many, unfortunately.
Allways nice to see a Volvo video from you!
Coming from someone who sells these on a daily basis it pains me to see that you think there is no 360 camera! If you tap the screen when the camera is on, you can view the 360 setup and select different camera views.
Gorgeous and effective vehicle with power AND a kick-a** sound system.
I bought an Volvo xc60 T6 recharge today. Thank you for this video!!
I bought my T8 2 months ago and love it. Only filled up twice since! Goes like stink in polestar mode (4.5 secs) and so quiet and smooth with the air suspension. Enjoy your car! 😊
@@ArloCox-hp7lj oh T8! I like it. Yea, I was actually looking for a polestar at first, but then I was like nah, hybrid is better than electric - for now. :)
I really like the xc60, really quick but also quiet.
Good luck with your car as well!
@@lolol5704 mines a hybrid. Won’t buy fully electric until they have worked out how to do 500 miles on a charge! 😂
No range anxiety that way! I get 300hp through the front wheels and 150hp out the rear via the electric motor. Makes for a very assuring and exhilarating ride. 🤗
@@ArloCox-hp7lj right? Haha! I was thinking that too.. the anxiety after accelerating a bit.. from 100% to 30% in a moment. 😪 pain
I might buy an electric car in 5 years, I think you will get more for your money. Prices are pushed down at the same time as the cars get better performance. Win win situation.
however, don't really trust the electric car's batteries. it costs like a new car just to fix a new battery..
Awesome video. Can’t wait for you to review the EX90 and EX30!
There is most definitely a 360 camera. You just didnt click on it. When you have your back up camera on it will say 360 in the center when you tap the screen. Then you hit that for 360 view. If you are pulling in or backing in between two cars a lot of times it comes on Automatically as well.
Thanks for a good review. My only regret is that like so many other reviewers, you didn't say much if anything about voice commands. I use voice commands frequently in my V90cc as it helps me keep my eyes on the road.
I test drove an XC60 T8 Recharge here in the UK two days ago and I tried the voice command stuff in a limited way. For navigation and adjusting cabin temp etc. it was flawless. I'd need to dig deeper to see if it can adjust the fans to point at you feet etc. or do more complex stuff (but I doubt it). Liked it enough to place an order... 6 weeks or less hopefully!
Order from a factory to be delivered in 6 weeks? That'd be insanely fast! Or maybe you mena an already existing car sitting somewhere @@ukgroucho 🤔
Just got my 2023 XC60 recharge today. I love my XC40 T5 but the premium gas price really scared me. I feel very lucky to find one new XC60 nearby. Finding a good PHEV is like hunting for unicorns 😅
Can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow.
That ICE sounds silky smooth at high revs. I've never owned a Volvo, but this demonstration was compelling.
Perfect ❤
Really nice ! Just bought 1 recently 👍👍😍
4:56 that hand gesture could mean something else in a BMW😂
I don’t care what consumer reports say I’ll still get this
Great video per usual. Question: which Bowers and Wilkens sound system sounded better between the XC60 and the S60?
xc60 for sure
Congratulations on 60,000 subscribers. I’m happy for you :)
It seems like all of Volvo's media vehicles have the B&W system, as opposed to about 1% of the cars they actually build. Yes, the system is incredibly expensive for their mid-range models, but it's still a shame!
Congrats on 600k. Love u. The best point of view car channel on RUclips be far.
Sounds like a lot of road noise
hey topher, how is the ride compared to it's competitors and compared tot he standard xc60 without the air suspension ?
@@droiddevx03no he mean the competitors of “it”
This is really a great video. Will done 👍
Got one; I find the ICE harsh and noisy, and poor fuel consumption - about 28 mpg UK. Great car if you do a lot of town driving and you have home charging. Once on long runs and the battery runs flat you are a bit stuck given the slow charging time as public chargers are not much use unless you stop at a hotel that has one. Having to go through multiple options on the screen to change drive modes is dumb. Very comfortable sears and voice control works well. Putting the batteries in the transmission tunnel is clever so leaving the boot space unobstructed.
Why do none of the reviewers show the voice command capabilities of these cars to control things like HVAC?
Because very few real customers will talk to their car for basic commands, and want a simple control. When you’re a reviewer, you have a few hours or a day with a random new car, you look for essentials and “use as a new owner would”.
2023 Volvo XC60 T8 Recharge eAWD Ultimate Dark Theme!
the volvo xc60 does come with an option for equipping a 360 camera just not fitted wih your tested car
Actually a 360 camera is standard on the Ultimate trim Fyi. Volvo sales here myself.
Thank you of the amazing video!! Would you choose this car or that 2021 V90 Cross Country you reviewed?
i❤ the Volvo
360 camera is an option... It is available u just have to pay extra for it
you should do sound system tests on volvos
back looks like a ~2016 crv
OR, the CRV looks like a Volvo, more like it.
i think only people that are waiting for months for their volvo xc60 are watching dis
no steering responsive headlights on a $70k suv? sheeeeeesh
My XC40, which is a much cheaper car, has those, meaning XC60 should have those as well. If I'm not mistaken that feature might be an option somewhere to toggle.
Does the car remember your last driving mode setting, or does it reset every time? Let’s say I want to do a 10 hour road trip in the winter… am I resetting “constant AWD” every time I stop at a rest area?
How does that not have a 360 camera?? It’s an Ultimate trim…my ‘18 R-design has it and it’s amazing
Oh it definitely does. You just have to manually enable it by hitting the round “360”button on the touch screen while in reverse. Kinda annoying that it doesn’t pop up automatically.
Cool car. Too bad that touch screen center stack is going to break and the longevity won’t be long.
?
Don’t know much about this brand. Are they reliable?
It seemed like tires squeaked when you turned at a bit of speed?
XC60 PHEV is tempting, but I can only justify paying this kind $$ if I am keeping it long-term. And long-term what is the hybrid battery life and cost going to be in a Volvo. The fact that Volvo warranties the battery for 8yr/100k and 55% capacity threshold is not comforting.
Even if the battery degeneration was near the threshold after 8 years, you still have the gas motor to fall back on. Considering the savings in fuel over that many years, it's not a bad trade off. The battery will likely hold up beyond the warranty thresholds anyway.
It’s a dark theme but they couldn’t give it a black headliner? I get it’s mainly an exterior package, but c’mon. - congrats on 600k subs. Still the best automotive reviewer on youtube, with the exception of Tedward lol.
does the touch screen switch off?
Wired android auto and apple carplay at $70k? Lmao. No shame from these auto makers and dealerships nowadays.
What a ridiculous price!
Tons of owner complaints for poor reliability on Edmunds for 2022 and up.
What is the percentage of faulty cars vs non-faulty ones and how serious are the problems?
Had mine for 20,000kms now. No problems so far. Previous Mercedes however had something faulty every month, and had less than 20,000kms.
Yep, have a 2021 XC60 Polestar, never 1 problem.
So sad that these newer Volvos aren’t reliable, and the worst part is that they’ll probably never be again until the day they go out of business.
I really like how they are besides that…
The newest models have ditched the problematic twincharging for a hybrid system now, which seems to have resolved most of the issues they had earlier on. Still a shame though, its not often one sees twincharging now and I thought it would be a genuinely decent compromise between having to add cylinders. Perhaps someday they could make an I5 for the more powerful models, at least to keep on the Volvo tradition.
@@trashrabbit69 apparently Volvo’s cars are still unnecessarily complex, the car care nut recently reviewed a V60 Cross Country and it’s an electrical disaster waiting to happen.
Planned obsolescence scamming bastard car company…
Toyota is once again the only car company in the world…
Their EVs are selling like hot cakes they won’t go out of business 😭
@@howlthehell9791not saying they will right away. I do have hope in their EVs. I’d rather get their EVs over their ICE cars at this point though imo.
How are their New gas models in terms of reliabilty. Was thinking to get one.
do these still have that shitty 4wd tech where there is only electric motors on rear axel? V90 t8 is one of the worst winter cars i have driven. So unpredictable and weird to drive
Man you mentioned alot of cons for 74k. Small cabin, no wireless android auto, poor camera, laggy screen controls, no rear climate controls. Hell No bc all those aesthetics and performance and they don't want to nail the basics
vezel & xc60 🤣🤣🤣
Volvo is too expensive for normal income people .
too bad volvos are so unreliable
Volvo is a luxury car and xhinese too. Obviously its not well made. Yes for safety. In my opinion, Subaru makes safe cars as well (safer than most manufacturers).
Sorry, but comparing this Volvo to Subaru is like comparing Rolls Royce to Lexus. Both nice car makes in their own right, but one is streets ahead in terms of refinement and comfort. I’ve owned 2xAudi’s, 1xBMW and 1xRange Rover and my Volvo T8 blows them all away on every level.
@@ArloCox-hp7lj I only mentioned safety. And by the way, going by your choice of cars, it seems like you prefer to waste time by going to the mechanic. And yeah...just like you, I am sorry as well.
These cars are very reliable
Idk what people are talking about
I’ve owned my s60 since new in 2019 and only done brakes
Really nice interior
The only reason i would never buy a Volvo is because the gauge cluster. It looks cheap and neglected, like they put zero effort to make it look a bit more fun and entertaining. I saw cars half the price of Volvo yet their gauge clusters looks so much fun with beutiful colors, a lots of setup you can play with, informations about the vehicle etc. I understand that Volvo is about safety and stuff but stil, they could make it bit more intresting. Its a shame to make a beautiful car, with cozy and elegant interior but not to much interest for the infotainment part of it. But this is my personal opinion. Anyway, great video!
If only BMW has a 2.5t I6 PHEV, Audi has a 2.5t I5 PHEV, and MB has a 2.5td I5 PHEV system to compete against this. 🥹
