Just got the BMW X3 M40i and it is absolutely SPECTACULAR! It's like driving a sports car, but it's an SUV. Not to mention that it is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. It beats these overpriced electric vehicles in every way.

Stefan Molnar actually both of those are slower than the M40i. You’d need the glc63 and Macan turbo to beat the M40i, and then you’re into x3m territory. That’s a drag race that needs to happen.

I have an m40i and I am telling you it's a beast. There was no reason to get the much more expensive x3m. bmw is definitely underrating the power on this car. They say that it dyno's at around 450hp.

Volvo safety is a myth that was related to old ones, nowadays all modern manufacturers are very close, even more, if you take a look at EURO NCAP tests many cars are much safer than Volvos.

So basically if you want a quick car off the line, go for a BMW. If you want a quick car while driving normally, go for a Volvo. If you want a fast car go for a Audi (assuming Audi eventually went past BMW in the third test) but if it didn't then BMW.
The electric power wasn’t used in the drag race for the Audi. When you use the launch control it only uses the combustion engine. This is why it got off the line so slowly
In their rolling race it definitely matters most who picks up initially on the start. They don’t do it to a quarter mile marker, though it looks like they went longer than a quarter here anyway

It was a ROLLING RACE not a top speed test so yes the Volvo won. Otherwise they could just drive forever until the car with the highest top speed comes past. Have you ever seen a carwow race before? That is almost always how they decide the winner, on initial kickdown and how well it stays in the lead.
Speed limit in most countries are topped at about 80mph so unless you're on an autobahn, it doesn't matter. You will never travel at 120mph, legally anyway.
The fact that the xc60 isn't only turbocharged, it's actually "twincharged" which means the fact that it had a turbocharger AND a supercharger combined, and u can actually hear the whine of that supercharger if you hit the gas at slow speed.
UK emission based tax law on company cars is why! if the company is paying for your car you are still left with the personal tax bill. The BMW would cost a higher rate payer over £5000 pounds a year more in tax. On a 4 year lease that £20,000 pounds saved would buy a lot of nice things like a luxury holiday each year. For a Volvo that is really not much slower and plenty fast enough for normal roads.
Thanks for the fun video. The Polestar XC60 is speed limited by Volvo for safety. As for the stopping test, it wasn't clear to me that you pressed the pedal sufficiently to engage the ABS, which would have made for the fastest braking.
my daily is this X3 I love the beast, having had all sorts of cars over the years- I test drove this in September 2018 it's an amazing creation! get to swap the PCP in April, just buy the same again but 2/3 years newer! it's a great tourer too
Fuel economy is everything! Hello! We have major energy and pollution problems. Volvo. I test-drove the m40i and it is fun (and hunky-clunky compared to the other 2) but about 19 mpg. Volvo has speed control for safety! You must disable!
Depends where you live - in Australia Q55 is $125k ($85k USD) - the M40i is $140k ($94k USD) and the upgraded MY23 (456hp/709nm - 50mile elec. range 0-60 4.5 1/4 mile 13.1) is $110k ($74k USD) - makes both the (now considerably slower and more expensive BMW and Audi) look not so good value anymore. (but the BMW still sounds a whole heap better)

It was a ROLLING RACE not a top speed test so yes the Volvo won. Otherwise they could just drive forever until the car with the highest top speed comes past. Have you ever seen a carwow race before? That is almost always how they decide the winner, on initial kickdown and how well it stays in the lead.

Speed limit in most countries are topped at about 80mph so unless you're on an autobahn, it doesn't matter. You will never travel at 120mph, legally anyway.
The fact that the xc60 isn't only turbocharged, it's actually "twincharged" which means the fact that it had a turbocharger AND a supercharger combined, and u can actually hear the whine of that supercharger if you hit the gas at slow speed.
BMW launch control always blurps a ton of water out the exhaust, and I find it so cool.
I clicked in a faster time than the 0-60 mph time in a Bugatti chiron!

Reliability/quality
UK emission based tax law on company cars is why! if the company is paying for your car you are still left with the personal tax bill. The BMW would cost a higher rate payer over £5000 pounds a year more in tax. On a 4 year lease that £20,000 pounds saved would buy a lot of nice things like a luxury holiday each year. For a Volvo that is really not much slower and plenty fast enough for normal roads.

The Polestar XC60 is speed limited by Volvo for safety.
As for the stopping test, it wasn't clear to me that you pressed the pedal sufficiently to engage the ABS, which would have made for the fastest braking.
The tyre on the Volvo was well low, that equals "disadvantage".

my daily is this X3 I love the beast, having had all sorts of cars over the years- I test drove this in September 2018 it's an amazing creation! get to swap the PCP in April, just buy the same again but 2/3 years newer! it's a great tourer too
Fuel economy is everything! Hello! We have major energy and pollution problems. Volvo. I test-drove the m40i and it is fun (and hunky-clunky compared to the other 2) but about 19 mpg. Volvo has speed control for safety! You must disable!

X3 m40i excellent value. Amazing daily car with the right balance of power comfort and practicality
Depends where you live - in Australia Q55 is $125k ($85k USD) - the M40i is $140k ($94k USD) and the upgraded MY23 (456hp/709nm - 50mile elec. range 0-60 4.5 1/4 mile 13.1) is $110k ($74k USD) - makes both the (now considerably slower and more expensive BMW and Audi) look not so good value anymore. (but the BMW still sounds a whole heap better)
