I also have a Precision Mathews lathe which when I purchased it I got the 5c collet chuck and a set of collets. After the first time I tightened a collet in it I headed to Harbor Freight an got a set 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 socket adapters for a cordless drill to tighten the collets in the future. Life is too short to spend that much time spinning a chuck wrench. I have a Dewalt 12 volt that works perfect.
Good day to you Chuck I got the exact same call Chuck from precision Matthews on my Pratt & Whitney 12 x 30 model B lathe. It was turning half .0005 right out of the box.
I happen to notice when you turn the machine on if you watch on the inside of the truck that you were mounting to the machine that the way it is ground on the inside looks like that it’s not ground straight. It looks like it has a wobble on the inside when it was ground, I don’t know if there could be something with that that could be fixed or if you should send it back to them and get another one so that you could get it perfectly aligned, but I don’t think it will align very well with the wobbling going on on the inside of the check, I happen to notice that in the videoyou might look in the hole turn it on slow and watch what I’m talking about just letting you know.
I have an ER30 collet chuck for the mill with an R8 taper. Smaller range of sizes than the 5C collets. I do like the way the ER collets click into the collar. My collet blocks are 5C.

Very clever design on that chuck. Great video.

I have the socket adapters as well. Will definitely get them out next time.

I like to use a large dowel pin when checking collet chucks. The flat on your end mill might be throwing it out possibly.
I don't have any dowel pins, so had to resort to the end mill. You might be right about the flat, I noticed it when I re-watched the video.

That might just be an optical illusion. I didn't notice anything and at a few ten-thousandths, I'm not sure you could really see that.
😁🎁
5C is really old school, ER system is way more practical😊🇨🇦

@woodandmetalshoptime8048 I use er32 Collett set, 25 sizes, metric, precision 2 tenths.
