I have an enormous pedal board that I'm starting to outgrow, now because of my rig so much but because the arrangement of pedals and the design of the board leaves a lot of empty space. I moved my power supplies and expression pedals off the board and I think I might move the HX Stomp to the floor also. Without every pedal locking its neighbors in place I can create a more reasonable arrangement. I also bought a smaller auxiliary board for either patching other effects in or to make an entirely separate signal chain, I haven't decided yet. I took the time to shop around this time. The board I picked was a quarter the price of my current one and it's 2/3rds the width and only a couple of inches shorter, which is fine because my first board has huge gaps between the top and bottom row. And it's still deep enough for a power supply! I think when I inevitably need a third board I have a cutting board and a wooden lap desk that would make good material if I decide to go that route but I know myself. I'm lazy and cheap so it's probably going to be a knock off pedal train from China.
Between those noise reducers and the power supply, you could've gotten a 1Spot combo kit and had change. Much better and more than enough to power it quietly.
That’s true and a great point I should’ve mentioned in the video, and to be honest I only went this route because I already had a lot of this lying around, and it just looks a bit neater wiring it this way! Superficial? Yes. Do I care? Nah, not really!
I built my own board but have yet to finalize the layout. I think yours came out great, would definitely recommend doing something else besides the tape - only because long term, that will deteriorate and get sticky residue over everything. Other than that, I think what you've built looks fantastic! By the way, what is in the Altoids tin? Do you have some picks or other accessories?
@@danieljdtaylor Cool, since seeing your video, I've started seeing it on lots of other boards. Don't know if it's a new idea or I just never noticed it before 🙂
You didn't say if it was worth your time and energy n if you would recommend diy or just buying one which you said you would comment on at the end of part 2

I assume the Altoids case is for picks? That's what I have mine in but I didn't think to stick to the board. Good idea.
Yep it’s for picks :) stick some Velcro on the bottom and you’re good to go
That's a much better idea than trying to find 'em in my back pocket. Cheers!

I'm legit going to build this. Thanks for the video!
Enjoy your build mate!
Nice Work. Looks great.

My apologies, I would say if money is a factor you have to consider when buying gear, it’s worth the time and effort!
