YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND $4000 ON YOUR WORSHIP BOARD! But you don't have to spend $400 either...
What a cool video. I use to watch this guy but RUclips dropped giving me notifications.
I like the 1975 as well
I have this lil bad ass pedal on my board and it replaces a lot of pedals
When you can buy a very nice sounding Squire for $120, most kids introduction to electric guitars are Strats, not Les Pauls. By the time they grow buying a Les Paul is very unlikely.
there are clear differences to my ear, because i ve had problems with a BC Rich that sounded muddy with 2 buckers that otherwise sounded full in other guitars, when i put some cheap alnico s in it, i realized i was never going to take them out. for high gain, the sound is night and day. i have clarity and tunable F spaced applications out of a properly wired alnico bucker, night and day. Yeah probably most people won t tell, or tell that much, but your intended applications would still sound much much better when there seems to be a surfacing pattern or problem. if it s high, you go low, if it s low, you go high, adapt to the tendency of the instrument, (more than the genre but that too) i cannot stress this enough. your alnicos sound much more tinny, and with that tone alone you can pick it up, no pun intended. when that s needed, the ceramic's aren t going to do that for you in the same way, if you don t want that, then stay away. -- but for these guitars it s almost all the same, because the pups don t necessarily fix an underlying problem, they just give us some more style. It all deppends, yeah you can do stuff with whatever you have, but it soothes the soul to have something output exactly what you re looking for from the get-go.
I'll bet it doesn't cost Gibson more than $50.00 a piece to make that $999.00 pickup set. And as far as making an electric guitar goes, most of that process is done by CNC machines on an assembly line to include their "Custom Shop" guitars. Most of what these luthiers at Gibson are doing is assembling guitar kits made one building over from where they are.
There are no guitar snobs, but there are tons of broke cry babies out there.
I don’t know what guitar communities you get involved with because there a guitar snobs everywhere lol.
Wait - The first audio file on the Tele for the acoustic sounded MUCH closer to an acoustic than the second audio file, which, as you said, was the actual acoustic. Are you sure you didn't get these reversed? Because I thought the first audio file sounded more like an actual acoustic.
I made sure everything was as it should when putting it together :)
I've had this guitar for just over a year now. Great guitar! I've used it live at gigs at it works well and stays in tune!
crazy sounds
What was it with Danelectro, and the Food line? The reverb sounds like a delay, and the vibrato sounds like a phaser.
It's meant to replicate the UniVibe's Vibrato setting, rather than a traditional vibrato effect.
Certainly more of a univibe for sure!
I would like to hear alnico pickup vrs ceramic with treble booster.😮
I was correct on all three.... This box is just a three band EQ, it doesn't fool me into thinking a strat sounds like a humbucker or vice versa. The Telecaster as an acoustic guitar just sounded abysmal.
But thanks for the review so I don't have to waste my money on one.
All these comments sound like they are describing wine; a bunch of non-sensical descriptions all contradicting each-other.
Fair shout
Love the nostalgia the Dano pedals.
Is this what Kenny Wayne Sheppard use in Blue on Black?
Same type of effect, not sure if it was this exact pedal but it was a Foxx Tone Machine circuit of some sort!
In fact, no matter the micro difference, only what one really realizes counts, both by creativity and by his own musical probity. Spending a crazy price for the possession of your "vintage" pedal is often as grotesque as useless!
Agreed! If I didn’t get it at a stupid low price I wouldn’t have bought the AD80
thanks for actually showing off the maxed out settings, no one else seems to ever do that
I built my own board but have yet to finalize the layout. I think yours came out great, would definitely recommend doing something else besides the tape - only because long term, that will deteriorate and get sticky residue over everything. Other than that, I think what you've built looks fantastic! By the way, what is in the Altoids tin? Do you have some picks or other accessories?
It is guitar picks :) good shout about the tape too!
@@danieljdtaylor Cool, since seeing your video, I've started seeing it on lots of other boards. Don't know if it's a new idea or I just never noticed it before 🙂
Greetings from Hungary! Really enjoyed your other video about the French Toast. This video is super cool and definitely makes me want to try more of these pedals. I have several of the bigger sized brethren to these pedals and absolutely love them. I have the Daddy-O, Dan-Echo, and Cool Cat. I also have the little Tuna Melt - that rocks too! I have several videos using these various pedals and will hopefully be adding more in the near future too.
Check out their new line as well, they’re great!
@@danieljdtaylor Yeah, the Nichols Fuzz seems particularly intriguing to me!
Great demo of a great pedal! I have several of the Danelectro pedals from this era but don't own this one. That situation may need to be rectified 🙂
No offence, but they both sound a bit horrid
I don't really like the sound of either cheap guitars. I would rather hear explensive versions i guess??
Excellent video and now I am thinking about a plan to build my next pedalboard. I will probably begin with a carry on luggage bag that just happens to be completely useless for years, so what flat board I just happened to have somewhere in the house will have to fit inside the luggage bag for transportation. Another issue is that the pedalboard does not have to be so low to the floor, so I assume it’s ok to have big feet to allow plenty of space underneath the board for whatever power supply. I can’t wait to build my pedalboard.
Damn, thought B was the Ampero cos it sounded compressed, boxy, and muddy! A was the best. Shows how important the cab is.
Buenísimo...me gusto ❤
I bought 5 Aldi pedals, but after a year or two had to throw them out because the plastic/rubber components became too sticky to handle.
Yeah they get so gross! Not sure what that’s about
Ceramic single coils smoke alnico 5 wimpy shrill useless sound. Alnico is best in humbuckers
Great review! How does the Ampero Mini sound with your separate mod effects even without an effects loop? That's one of my concerns before pulling the trigger on an Ampero Mini. Thank you!
I think they work really well together!
YOU ARE A HERO.
Do you feel a loss of volume with the ampero connected compared to if you had the pedals going straight to the amp? How do you use the volume of the patch and the physical knob? Everything at maximum?
I did at first, you have to set up patch volumes and master volumes via the knob on the top to get unity gain
The red one doesn't play as clean.
Damn that thing’s a monster
My Dad used to have one of these 😁 Wish we'd kept it now 😅
It’s pretty great!
Nice video ! Do you know if this is solid wood body or solid top ? Thanks !!
I believe it is solid wood all around!
I'm getting some aluminum tread plate bent with two tiers by metal fabricator in my area for cheap, ill drill holes I need and use temple audio in/out modules some dual lock and some finished wood sides and chrome handles, repurposed suit case or build a wood case for it. Done!
That's a great approach, I love seeing people getting creative with their builds!
I have one It’s great A little Spacewhacky to
Seems like the Mooer has a little more noticeable mid hump....or just different mids. Also seems like the Mooer is more comparable to the Shine mode of the Nux. Could just be me.
That’s a good call! I later found out that the Nux is more of a copy of the JHS morning star which is a modified bluesbreaker circuit which explains the difference.
i've got the red version but doesn;t have the stereo switch. the mark 1 versions if you can find them had a more true to rickenbacker headstock . the only let down is the headstock shape on these mark 2'..
Gibsons way too expensive they need to be like PRS and schecter if they can do one for like $500 or 600 or 700 that would be fine and they would have more young players to play these guitars but the way Gibson is taking it right now. They’re making these things like expensive cars, and also only for celebrities too to buy them too.
PRS SE guitars are seriously winning at the moment in that market. You get a pretty consistent high quality guitar ready to gig consistently. You can’t say the same for Gibson/Epiphone in that price.
I'm legit going to build this. Thanks for the video!
Enjoy your build mate!
with distortion - the red guitar seemed to have a lower centered set of harmonics - "warmer" - A question for you - with most AlNiCp pickups the magnetic material IS the pole piece. With ceramic pickups the pole pieces are steel and energized by a ceramic magnet attached to the bottom of the coil. In pickups say where the pole piece contribution is appreciable, and both pickups the same that way (say "Big Pole") will the effect upon the coil's inductance be higher with mild steel vs Alnico? In practice I think some ceramic pups can have stornger magnets and use less turns on a bobin for similar output to an alnico pup - that's a difference which cold be heard.
ALNICO ✅
If you want a zoomerish Gibson then you should be better off with a Gretsch. Or a Reverend even but thats more 90s dude alt/indie/stoner. Vibrant colors, nice jangly tone, lower cost import models. Price really isn't the reason why the brand doesn't fly. Think about the amount of money us male zoomers put into a gaming rig. The real problem is you don't get what you pay for. Gibson always has been and will be a premium American made luxury guitar brand and its pointless to change that. Cool thing is there are always those rare hipsterish Gibsons that really stand out.. like an old RD or the Les Paul Custom Classic models. The REAL reason why Gibson isn't popular is cuz theres NO WAY to sell them to young woman. You just can't. It doesn't work. Its like a thoroughly inked 6 foot guy playing a mint green squier mustang. Yes I'm 22 this year and I wasn't fun at parties lol.
Also if you haven't tried a Gibson yet I HIGHLY recommend you to try a used Les Paul Standard model. A good Les Paul with accurate PAF copies will sound pretty close to a telecaster, only hotter and beefier. I highly recommend the Duncan Antiquity set. 57 Classics and Burstbuckers are cool but they are slightly modern spins on the classic PAF sound, a bit less so with Burstbuckers. If it isn't for you then a Les Paul is just about the easiest guitar to sell so yup
Interesting take that Gibson is a luxury brand, I’d be inclined to agree with you but I think Gibson still like to see themselves as a genuine working musician’s tool, which just can’t be true with the amount of great competition out there these days.
kmart wtf that store exists somewhere in the world?
@@areallyboredguy5825 It’s huge here in Australia. Like Target for us. We have both Target and Kmart but Kmart owns Aussie Target now so they’re really doing well lol
I have my dream Les Paul, a killer Strat and I bought a Godin with ceramic PU. I play the Godin more than any of the other guitars. With Clean and Distortion pedals through tube amps - Maybe it's just the tone of that Godin guitar but it can cry and sing with the best of them. The Les Paul's tone is great too but the low E string isn't punchy or bassy enough for me...unless I use an EQ pedal and manipulate the low E on the Les Paul...that's getting away from the tone really though. Someone commented that it doesn't really matter as long as you sound good - I agree. Musicians, after decades of playing can hear the finite minutia of sounds, but those who don't play an instrument are clueless.
Agree! Use whatever sound you prefer
Please do one more demo showing only the fz2 direct to the amp no other mixes while tweaking showing different sounds. Thank you.
Anyone that knows how to work on their own guitar is fortunate to have current companies like Harley Benton, and a few others now. You can literally buy good bones for $200, swap some parts, do a set up, and have a better guitar for $600, than you could buy for $2k+. They are robbing people. Many think that high price is directly related to QC, or Sound. IT’S NOT.
I do agree that someone who knows what they are doing can make a guitar with good bones as good as they want!
Blues Crab is mid-scooped as the original bluesbreaker, although brighter. However, even the Bluebreaker reissue pedal is brighter than the original one. I don't like overdrives with too much mid focus... they sound dated and make me think "why I would buy this instead of a Boss SD1?".
That’s a fair point, and tbh I don’t like the SD1 so mid scooped works for me!
