Cool video man! You forgot campeche in Brazil 😂
You forgot Ocean Beach San Francisco. Nice job!
& Putsborough.
Thanks mate! Yeah damn, forgot that one, but looks like a crazy place… maybe an ep2 coming….
@@DanHarmon123 You can leave OB alone 😁(Guess where I live?)
Fun video as always. I would however like to tie you to a chair and force you to pronounce "Nicaragua" properly until you get it right. I mean... how do you say the word "raw"? Rau? 😆Just kidding. Best wishes, Dan.

Congrats on the book Dan, awesome. Maybe see you in the line up somewhere hey 🤙
Thank you!! I'm sure we will meet somewhere :)
Pascuales is a place where you wait for the swell to get smaller before you go out. The first time I went it was small--head high--and every wave was a barrel. Deep cobalt blue water. The last time I was there it was a big swell. We arrived at night and camped on the beach, the ground was shaking all night and it sounded like being next to a jet plane. In the morning we could see it was big but also a mess, nobody out.
Black's is San Diego's nude beach. I lived in SD in the early 90's and used to bodysurf there with nothing on but a pair of fins. I have been there many times but never saw any surfers, unlike everywhere else where there's 150 guys even when there's no swell. But I usually went during the summer and early fall, and never saw one of the big winter swells.
Hey Dan! I’ve been learning Spanish in Seville for the past few weeks and want to do a quick trip to Portugal for like 5/6 days cause I’m itching to get some surf in
I’m probably high beginner/intermediate, where would you suggest in Portugal? Ericiera, porto or Peniche ? Cheers mate love your vids
You definitely missed Dunes and the Hoek in Cape Town South Africa. As well as the Gat (Llandudno).
Hey Dan, I recommend you to travel to Valdoviño some day, northwest of Spain, in Galicia. Surf town with at least 7/9 spots for surfing during all year. The right in Pantin is the most famous spot (which holds each year the Pantin Classic, WSL competition), good spot for beginner and good spot for more advanced levels
South straddie is insane. The paddle across the seway entrance puts alot off. Bull sharks are spooky
Yeah, that's the reason I've never surfed it haha!!
@@DanHarmon123well if you’ve never surfed South Straddy , how could you tell everyone it’s probably the most crowded place on Earth
My dad surfed pasquales in the 80s and a guy's leg was broken just from the lip landing on him while duck diving
Wow! That’s hectic, never heard of that happening before!
I would almost guarantee that is a true story! I first start going there in 1984 and it has been one of my favorite waves ever.
It gets scary big and since I’m from Texas once it hits the double overhead +size I did more watching than surfing. It’s only 924 miles from my house, so it takes about 20 hours to drive there. For me the best time to go was October in November and then again in January and February because even though surfline said it was 2 to 3 foot it was still in the double overhead size range and just fantastic
@DanHarmon123 Titus Kinimakas leg was completely broken by the lip of a Waimea wave in Javai i (hawai )
Good edit 🤙
Thanks 🔥
Bro, South Africa missing, Durban North Beach, Ballito
Great shout! Might need to do an ep2!
Haven’t been for nearly two decades but new pier used to be epic. All those beachies were great actually.
Thanks for leaving Brazilian beachies off of that list! We've got plenty of crowds already haha
Hahah, I don't think my videos are going to have any effect on the crowds in Brazil ;)
Great Job....Don't worry about the haters
Great job if you don’t mind bullshit
Don’t forget moss landing too
Yew mandiri sick wave but lots of broken boards for a 2ft wave eh
The shorebreak of praya do norte is very good, only thing is the very strong stream that you always have
Dude please come visit San Francisco’s Ocean Beach in the late Fall-Winter.
Would love to surf it... on a smaller day haha ;)
@@DanHarmon123 it has plenty of shoulder to head high days that are super fun.
Should def make a second video! I’m surprised places like the wedge or keiki’s weren’t on the list. Some honorable mentions/places i love watching are Waimea Shorebreak, sandy’s beach and makapuu
For sure! Was thinking of doing a shorebreak type video for those waves instead!?
@@DanHarmon123 even better!🔥
You can't actually drive to south straddy, meaning even though it's close to the Gold Coast, It can be quite quiet a lot of the time
Blacks can get heavy during winter and lower tides is ideal but it can be fun all year for sure as long as the winds are light
Ironic saying South Straddy is the most crowded place on Earth, when you have to paddle hundreds of metres across a busy sharkie river ,and climb a rock wall.Theres about 6 guys out in your footage , with 20 kms of inaccessible beach breaks to the North?
Both Pascuales and Puerto Escondido are the 2 sand bottom , heaviest beach breaks in the world, no ifs, no buts.
Can definitely agree on Puerto, and Pascaules sounds just as heavy as I imagine it!!
On my first and only trip to Pascuales 20 years ago I arrived in the afternoon only to see the dead body of a bodyboarder being fished out of the sea near the river mouth, locals told me it wasn't uncommon.
At size the inside bowl is no joke, I don't remember having to contend with a crowd either, that in itself says it all,
Not to mention the dangers on dry land...@@DanHarmon123
@DanHarmon123 Some respected surfersnin Mexico say Pascuales is actually heavier than Puerto, sounds hard to believe 😳 😬 I'll let you know if I ever surf Pascuales
Dunes, Cape Town
Stay at Chancletas Beach Resort with the nicest people and walk 2 mins to the boom, thunderbomb is owned by kooks and you have to drive to surf
The Boom isn’t even the best spot in that area of Nica, further north if you know where to look you can score better beachie than even Playa Colorado 😉
Perhaps not, but let’s keep that quiet haha ;)
It's not a good idea to call out certain places even if they are known..... Karma. I've been asked from a friend to say that exact comment. Sorry not sorry to bear such info...............
Don't forget..... On the east coast north island of new Zealand. It's really shit so don't bother
Hahah, I left that one out for a reason ;)
Kooooooooooook
why?
Thanks for your comment, I’ll add you to my long list of everyone who’s ever called me a kook, haha. Seriously though, are you okay?
Jealouuuuus.
You will never find a hater doing better than you. 🌊
@@DanHarmon123 Don't worry Dan i bet this guy doesn't do all the travelling you do, and you rip!
Mate im chicken Joe what you talking about in the the defending pengu champ
Surfing is fucked.
??
@DanHarmon123 yeah dan that's right mate, it's done. Crowds at all time highs.
