I am working on a backswing with less tension. I have found that loosening the grip, and using big muscles to generate the backswing and have my arms go for a ride has increased swing and ball speed
@@RYANandMICHELLEchannel that’s perfect! You’re 100% right. using the bigger muscles with a good grip pressure is going to give you some huge results and make things easier
Excellent video Giles on getting the perfect takeaway! I have been working on both your "steering wheel" and "push down on grip" recommendation. I am now trying to incorporate these into the "zonal" ball position routine. I always find your recommendations to be quite useful in my golf game Giles! Thanks for the Help!
What I would suggest is find which drill feels most comfortable. From there perform that drill for 20 to 30 reps and try and translate it from a technical thought into a simple feel For example, with the steering wheel analogy. If I do that, I feel like my hands work in and the clubhead stays out and goes up. That’s the feel I take away from that drill and that allows me to translate it to the course
Literally have been working on the combination of these moves in the video! Spooky! Very hard to strike the balance between achieving the leveraging the club and the wrist angles without going flat early or staying steep. Btw you look like Matt Wallace’s wee brother! 🤔Great vid thanks!
Definitely more ways than this to do the takeaway which could help you, but that would be more specific for golfer to golfer. I’ve never had that one before, but thank you 😂
What are you working on in your game right now?

The zonal ball position is key so prioritise that first and then come back to the takeaway
Top top video again!
Thank you harry!
Currently working on my backswing with your driver step drill so they drag back is very similar
That’s an awesome drill! Will definitely get you driving the ball better
Great tips again. My problem is that if I think of these things everything goes to pot.
