    Which of the root causes do you suffer from?

      I find when I focus on pushing into the lead foot my ball striking goes up tremendously. Love the example with the yoga wedge.

      Hi Giles - Rotation is my biggest failing, sometimes leading to overbalancing! KR, John, 74 near Seaford E Sussex 😥

      The “ sit down “ causes many rotational problems . Also getting my hands to high or away from my knees . Creates a series of compensations then getting thin or hooked shots .

    Thanks Giles. For me this is one of your best lessons. Your channel also makes it easier for me when I get some questions asked during a round in a group that I don’t know as I now simply say to subscribe to your channel as you’re not only a better golfer than I am you also have a unique ability to show and explain. Hopefully this keeps getting paid forward as it should see you achieve more than 100k in subscribers sooner than later as I’m sure I’m not the only one.

    One of your best videos yet, thank you for combining so many important points and drills together in a single video. #2 and #3 are my biggest issues. For #2, slightly hinging my lead wrist while also extending my trail wrist until my lead wrist is flat is a great takeaway thought. Even if I maintain good wrist positions back down to impact, I find it difficult to release the club without introducing lead wrist extension just before impact rather than releasing correctly using forearm rotation, making my misses slight pushes right. I watch many videos of pros like Fleetwood or Korda releasing the club but can't quite replicate it yet. For #3, the pivot drill you gave is brilliant. Not only does it cue your rotation, but it also helps keep your hips from reverse pivoting or moving towards the ball and causing early extension.

    With #2, it feels like the clubhead/hands doesn't seem as deep behind my head when I hinge more with the right wrist using the 2/3 -1/3 right-left hinge (i.e., it seems more of an upright/hands higher backswing)

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  2 месяца назад

      Clubhead going deeper is caused by rotation & hand depth 👍🏻

  • @hocheye
    @hocheye 8 дней назад +1

    When you swing the club your wrist hinge was minimal. I tried hinging my wrists early, it totally ruined my swing. My wrists don't hinge until the top of my backswing and only slightly like you did on your swing.
    I have foot drop on my right foot, I'm a left handed golfer, so trying to get on my heel is next to impossible. I try and flare out my front foot which helps immensely for hip rotation for me. My rotation is minimal but I do hit the ball straight.

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  4 дня назад

      Flaring the foot will massively help with this

    I fall back toward 7 or 8 o'clock with all long clubs. I can't seem to get thru the ball and it causes short, fading drives... frustrating!

    • @Gilesgillgolf

      There will be a root cause reason for that!

    Hi do we have to lock the wrist for ball impact and getting the square club face? If we don't, the ball wull force the the club face open or loosen upon ball impact. Lastly, can I use the left foot to push to right foot downswing? I always let my left foot passive except supporting the weight durinh upswing. And right foot take over the weight shifting.

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  2 месяца назад +1

      There’s no locking of anything. You’re gripping it tight at impact but definitely no locking. Both feet have to push in downswing

    • @oceanyt8
