such a beautiful voice; such innocence and joy. it makes me happy yet sad to know that they are long dead and this a bygone era lost in the mists of time...........
muggedinmadrid The Ancient Egyptians believed in Immortality and the Afterlife, " To Speak One's Name makes them Live again" and also we have Motion Pictures so Everytime you watch it they are Alive. I
I think they would be happy that even decades after they died their life's work still brings so much joy to people. They are from an era where not only people had to be TRULY gifted to become actors and artists but also usually be really dedicated to their work and not only doing it for fame and money like so many today.
Tremenda actuación de comediantes innatos que transmiten el sentimiento de la comedia. Grande Oliver cantando y Stanley contagia las ganas de bailar. Esta escena es épica.
They did tend to shoehorn a bit of the old soft shoe shuffle into their films, but when Babe had such a beautiful voice and Stan was so wonderful on his feet, then all is forgiven!
Oliver and Hardy's "Way out West" movie brought me here, to check out Oliver's singing. I was startled to hear Oliver's singing voice when he joined in with a guitar player and sang verses of Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. His voice was so accomplished and delightful that at first I thought it was a voice-over, being unaware of his wonderful talent.
Normally this might not be considered a compliment to a man but in this case it is, Ollie's voice just literally purrs. You never forget him and I hope we never do.
Beautiful scene from the 1939 film "Flying Deuces", directed by Edward Sutherland, with Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy. Here we see Oliver Hardy, a great singer as well as a great comedian, singing "Shine On Harvest Moon" by Nora Bayes and Jack Norworth, while dancing with his eternal companion Stan Laurel. A real delight to enjoy and share!
Im wondering what would’ve happened in his life had he become a singer instead. And what if Stanley became perhaps an actor in action movies or comic action movie.
Ollie's voice never faltered. He had a flawless voice. It really makes the soul happy listening to him.
I laughed a lot watching these guys in movie theaters when i was a lad; now, seeing the same scenes i can't avoid some tears come to my eyes....
Few people realize what a wonderful singing voice Ollie had, and for a huge man, he was deft on his feet for the soft shoe...
Dang, the room brightened as i heard this. True legends.

@@JamesBond-ml3zp i tend to agree with you.. we are alive..and we feel Oliver and Stan when we see them.. so in that moment they really come alive..

Pure and utter perfection...
Laurel & Hardy were one of the greatest movie comedy teams in history!
Muero por verlos una y otra y otra vez. Los amo.
These two pure brilliance
One of Oliver Hardy's highlights of his life was that as a young man he got to see Caruso sing. Hardy was a working singer when he was young
Stan laurel is the godfather of comedy 😂😂
They always put a smile on face when they dance and sing.
The word legend is thrown around to much these days. But these guys were legends. The best. Often imatated. Never bettered. Class

Beautiful voice, respect. But our version, italian fron Alberto Sordi, is better
