Jolt's head from the old ROTF figure was based on concept design because they made the toy in the last minute after finding out they were going to add him in the movie. SS Jolt' head sculpt is the original
That’s good to know, actually. I do still kinda prefer the concept head though, speaking honestly; it’s a more unique design.

Just got this guy a couple days ago and I can't stop messing with him. The whole character and alt mode as a toy is super amusing to me.

Jolt and Sideswipe were my favorite characters from Bayformers. And I'm happy how they breathed a fresh new air into both figures.

I think Jolt was in a DOTM prequel comic, but I don’t think Bayverse Comics are canon anymore and he also died in those issues.

Although handling the figure isnt the most easy experience, I find the detail making up for it. He has been a permanent deskbot (for now). And is really nice to look at when I am doing homework
I love how accurate and detailed the design of this toy is, but it makes a terrible use for all its kibble, not even replicating the flaps jolt had in the movie
They did horribly in the thigh pannels, but anything else? I can bridge the similarities in my mind

actually the new head is more accuracte to the film ,the old toy head is more based on concept art of the movie design as most movie toys are created before the final finish design is made

Now that Jolt has been here for awhile we now need Trench to get a toy, he literally got murdered just to save the Autobots in TF4. He also needs it because I mean cmon, he's one of the few bots willing to fight Megatron plus his entire gang to his last breath. And yes, I know that Hound stayed there with him but Hound still lived showing that he ran while Trench still fought.

The original ROTF Jolt had the tires on his legs partially painted (I had both that and the Electro one in your review).
Brings up some fond memories of the original and Jolt as a whole. Fun to transform back and forth and the car mode was kinda cool.
I really don't want the figure but i feel your pain man
don't worry. I have it and that peg makes it way harder to transform, and it still hold together in vehicle mode without it

Came out of nowhere, was crucial for the plot, and then disappeared. Personally, I like the new head, it looks better to me.
Imagine that back kibble is a cape and that problem is solved.
Edit: Yeah all fan bases are toxic, TF isn’t the worst but it gets petty. For the toys, remember it’s neigh impossible to make a 1 to 1 figure that transformers, but it will be close. Though there’s definitely a lot of 3rd party black magic. For the media, yeah some of it sucks but there’s always something for everyone and it’ll be rebooted in a couple years anyway. The beauty of Transformers is it’s always reimagined and new continuities are made.
Fun Fact: Jolt was rumored to be voiced by Anthony Anderson for Revenge of the Fallen, the same guy that played Glen Whitmann in the 2007 film
the thing i wish they include is a balljointed ankle so it can suffice for both articulation and transformation. or maybe fit a hinge joint somewhere that would bend inward for posability.
Ngl I like jolt as a character idea like electrical whips and stuff seems like a cool idea and since he's a hybrid vehicle it makes more sense
Jolt is such an obscure character im like, who the hell cares if it’s totally Accurate? It looks like a pretty cool blue robot man with an interesting design that works pretty decently.
With a unique alt mode due to it being so generic, it’s definitely on my list and ultimately I don’t see why such a nobody deems such aggression in the fandom.

I'm gonna be the millionth person saying this, but I'll say it... The head is actually accurate, as the old figures were actually based on concept art. This is the only accurate Jolt figure
My only major complaint with this figure is the lack of ankle tilts
Honestly I still can't see THIS much accuracy with his head, it is more accurate than the other jolts but his mouth piece is too small, his eyes are the wrong size and depth, there's almost no blue and the surface itself seems wrong

under all that shell of a car, my little joltie is very articulated. he can do the cutest squats and almost every pose he's in, the little happy face he has makes it hilarious. half the reason I got him was cuz he looks likes he's on some illegal energon.
Considering his powers it could be home-made bootleg energon 😂
The one thing this guy really needed was an ankle pivot, it really hurts his stability and would pretty easy to fit a pivot in his feet. I also would’ve preferred they used the less accurate Toy head because it kinda just looks cooler than the official one. But other than that he’s a solid figure

I can hardly find used complete ones in eBay for less than 50 dollars...Unless I misunderstood. The original rotf leader or the ss one?
People always complain about the bayverse alt modes for being so ostentatious because a Lamborghini countach or a Lancia stratos, or a Porsche were do discreet in the 80s

SS Jolt’s head is based on the CAD model, it’s accurate to the movie. The old RotF Jolt’s head is based on old concept art
Just got this guy for Black Friday and I love this guy. He’s poseable and his transformation is really fun i like this guy
that's the actual head he had in the movie, people keep complaining it's not accurate while it's the original toy that wasn't 😂 but yeah we never got to see his actual head in the movie, and it's a lot more generic than the toys

1:47 incorrect the head is accurate in one shot if you pause it just right you can get a good look at the head which is nearly identical to the SS figure

I had a redeco of Jazz made into Smokescreen growing up so I always thought Ratchet resurrected Jazz into Smokescreen and that was the character to ‘jolt’ Optimus for some odd reason

I like to belive that the background being dotm is a nod to him being in the dotm toyline

Another reason the whips don't go into the palms is because you risk shearing off the pegs when you remove them

@@_V.Va_ Depends, there are oversized KO's (~ MPM scale) of a few studio series figures that go for ~$40 CAD... Oversized Blackout is most expensive but even that doesn't break $80 if I remember correctly
@@JM64 Wei Jiang Blackout goes for like $150+ now.
And 3rd Party figures only go for around $50 if it's just an upscale of a mainline figure.
If it's an original mold created by the 3rd Party themselves, it always costs above $80.

I've honestly always like Jolt not cys of the movie but because when TF3 came out, I bought 2 Jolt figures (i think leader class and one of those smaller ones that are really mini, which i still have) and because of that, I love Jolt
I’m personally enjoying jolt he has a nice and complex transformation really good articulation and is just fun to mess around with.
I want this jolt but I don't think it will be available in christmas anymore 🥺 I really want it but I have to wait till Christmas

Honestly of all the first movie Autobots I'd say Jazz stuck out the most, I've only seen *one* Pontiac solstice and that one was a hot-pink convertible if I remember correctly.

Just saying but the head is accurate, its just that the old toy was from concept art, similar to the earth mode bumblebee movie characters, so yh, its actually accurate
I could of bought him for a sales price but I passed. I read he is abit awkward when it come to his parts getting in each other way.
To me, this figure just highlights many of the issues I have with the live action Studio Series offerings.
Panels of kibble all over that clash with the host figure and severely limit poseability. A lack of standardized articulation (ZERO/Restricted waist movement and ZERO ankle pivots) which resulted in over 90% of all figures released suffering from "Standing on the inner soles of your feet syndrome". Deluxe class figures that STILL use ball joints for the shoulders and hips whereas the WFC Trilogy had LONG since abandoned those in favor of pinned universals on all figures Deluxe class and up (With only a select few exceptions) which not only look much more professional but generally hold up their tolerances better over time. Using the overly complex movie designs as a crutch for lazy kibble placement. (Like seriously, you couldn't make the giant car panels in Jolt's thighs fold up any more than that?! The car mode already has some noticeable panel lines so would it really hurt just to add one or two more?!) Oh and the fact that many car bots in this line end up with turtle shells of folded up vehicle kibble on their backs doesn't help either (Lockdown, Roadbuster, WWII Bumblebee, Cogman, TLK Drift, Cliffjumper, and WWII Hot Rod I'm looking at ALL of you)!
Personally, I'm not really a fan of the movie accurate headsculpt since it looks a bit too bland for my liking. I'm more nostalgic for Jolt's original head design with it's Galvatron-esque crown and the fact that I had both his ROTF and DOTM toys back in the day.

@@tallietorchersproductions2740 With the exception of ROTF Devastator, and the SS86 figures, Studio Series is a toyline that is constantly being outclassed, outdone, and overshadowed by it's CHUG counterpart. It's for this very reason that I get the feeling that Has/Tak is only continuing this line begrudgingly with no passion for it and/or creative desire to break new grounds whether they be setting new standards in articulation or upgrades in joint styles and tolerances.

@@tallietorchersproductions2740 Part of it is due to the fact that the well of movie characters that haven't been made yet is beginning to dry up. TF1 (Minus Frenzy) is completed, ROTF (Minus Fallen) is close behind, and even DOTM has nearly completed it's cast in plastic. Only AOE and TLK have yet to receive some major additions to their lineup. That and they are TRULY riding on that Cybertron scene in Bumblebee for all it's worth.
@@astromotive6047 We still have yet to receive Sideways, the twins, Hatchet, and still quite a few others. I think they should re-release others like Optimus or Ratchet and especially Ironhide because they are hard to find nowadays.

Why does he have 2 faux forming wheels on each leg? That makes it so he has 8 wheels visible in robot mode. What’s the point? Faux forming bad
Because in the actual movie and design his legs are supposed to be formed by window bits and his wheels split into two (four each) for the knees
