One of the best vids ever. Clear. Concise.
“That’s it you did it!” Cracked me up 😂
Entertaining and edifying as usual. Thanks again!
Bloody brilliant... Informative, enlightening and hilarious.... Subscribed!!!
Keep up the great work bud
Helpful AND entertaining actually 🤘🚀
Great DIY video and funny too. Though I have an 848, your video helped me big time. Saved me from over tightening the pinch bolts. I surely was going to use the 19nm listed in my manual. Thanks for vid.
Great video and very funny. You're right about Ducati customer service. They go over and beyond.
Good video man! Appreciate the helpful content!!
Love your videos man, I do not own a Panigale but hey, still the same basics!
Came here for the shout out to Duc Pond. Those guys are good dudes. Bought both bikes from them and they were fantastic.
Thanks for this. Great and simple to understand.
I've never done my own maintenance but now I go to the track often Ive needed to change from wet to dry wheels and it was getting costly. Though getting that spindle out was far far more difficult than yours was! I had to 'knock' it with a piece of wood on one side, twist & pull on the other using pliers and a screwdriver in the recess.
Love your videos man every mod you do I follow along on my bike lol
Finally getting around to buying pets to do this. Why go for the headlift/triple tree style paddock stand over the more traditional stand which lifts from the base of the forks?
I figure the only functional benefit of one type of stand over the other is that this one let's me keep the bike on the stand while removing the forks.
@@Dutchman0 Thanks
Nice and informative as usual sir, I'm going to be removing both wheels soon for a tyre change. Thanks for the warning about the torque settings. Keep up the good work, always enjoy your videos!
HUGE help with the torque specs! Thanks!
Moto Dutchman our own personal Panigale Jesus 😂
Awesome video, exactly what I was looking for. It was painful to watch you snap that pinch bolt :)
Very nice! Would you mind telling the wonderful world of Ducati riders how you managed to remove the broken screw? Would be very interesting as a bike talk... I will say that there is no tension, since the head went off, but it most likely has some tight friction against the bottom of the thread...
Nothing too exciting! I drilled a little hole in the center and had some good luck with a tiny extractor bit.
@@Dutchman0 I wanted to hear the much simpler approach; removing the axle and screwing it in all the way, as it would come-out at the inner side of the piece. (LOL!!!)
Dutchman still have your Ducati? If so, weird question to ask, but cant find any information on this. I have a 1199s and there is some sort of plastic cover that covers the triple clamp opening, so I cant use the pit bull stand. Did your 1299 have the same cover?
Yep, I just pry it out with a little screwdriver whenever I'm going to put it on the front stand. Just keep track of it and pop it back in when you're done!
THANK YOU SIR!
Sweet video. Just replaced the rear tire and that was simple, other than the 55mm torqued to 7542135 foot/pounds! Was wondering how much of a chore to do front wheel. Not to bad it looks!
P.s. that shaft looked well lubed!
"SHIT!" We have all been there.
Great video... which way does (the flange) on the right side wheel spacer go on?
Why are you supposed to lift the rear wheel before lifting the front? Is that Panigale-specific, or does it apply to all bikes?
It's for stability, and no it's not Panigale specific.
Why not use the caliper hanger mounts built into the stand?
Haha yes, Jizz Machine! My 848 has this sticker.
Please give me advice on how you used the Pitbull stand and it didn't put pressure on the nose fairing of your bike. I have an 1199 and it presses so hard on the fairing it scares me.
Love your videos and have just subscribed. Tried 2 front stands on my 1299 S today and neither worked. Ended up using the fork style one in a dodgy set up... anyway, your pit bull one seems to work well - the one I tried wouldn’t work without trying to push up through the headlight cowling. Which model do you have and are you able to do a video on it?? Thanks
Moto Dutchman thanks for the reply, look forward to watching it!!
Mistakes are a big part of motorcycle maintenance. Thanks for showing us yours so we didn't make our own!
2:40 😲😲😲
Dutchman, can I ask how did you get the snapped bolt out. Was it easy as my friend has just done this so I will be trying to get the bolt out tomorrow for him.
how did you get the broken bolt out? there isn't any at local hardware store that would fit?
could you do a video on front fork oil R&R
Ahhhhh August in Europe... Been there...
you did it!!
Euro screws... They are so common here you'll get them in every hardware store. Used a set of stainless ones for my Moped ;)
Next time you snap one, give me a call an I'll ship you 10 of these.
Moto Dutchman I recommend German Autobahn ;)
Zombie donor bikes is a very common Ducati dealer practice. It becomes an interesting ethical issue when they part customer bikes that are in the shop waiting for service, and they fail to inform either party.
Great video mang 😄. Now do one for BMW 😁😉🙄
Moto Dutchman The 1200 looks amazballs and comes with TFT display.
I made THE mistake. Broke a pinch bolt. And my screw extractor doesn't fit in the opening deep enough. Any ideas?
very informative and funny jokes
But sir!! Isnt there any electronics that r connected to the ABS or DTC system ??
becoz all of a sudden, since i gave my 1299 for a complete wash and few chemicals being used on the front wheel all over it to remove stains, I feel that the wheel is less grippy and kinda out of control during cornering turns... kindly help!! Thanks for reading.
Moto Dutchman... hmm that is brilliant sir! So is there anything that i can do to fix this issue or should i take my bike to the service centre!!? Thank you very much.
Also that i read an article saying that... if we happen to accelarate the throttle brutally at times the wheel looses the balance! Is that true??
I just did this...I stretched one side of the forks and on the other it snapped....do you think I messed up the threads on the fork?
Mind me asking how you got it out?
Moto Dutchman thanks I got one from the snapped bolt but the other one was not only torqued too high. It's bearing the load from the snapped bolt
Anyone know how to get this pit bull triple tree front stand to not press against the top plastics while lifting on a 899/959 panigale?
I decided to send pitbull a msg instead including photos. Let's see what they say.
i need that Jizz Machine decal for my 959 lmao!
AWESOME thanks!
44teeth sticker 💦 😂
I absolutely love those guys. I could go for a traditional BvG rant right about now!
@@Dutchman0 Their annual superbike group tests are mandatory viewing.
I’ve giving up torque wrench nothing better than hand tight. Muscle that shit
You sure pissed someone off, he/she makes sure to put a dislike on every single video you post. That takes dedication! It could be your wife, sometimes they get pissed on husbands cheating on them with their Ducatis
Moto Dutchman :)))
33mm socket? Mines a 30mm.... 1299s
That's the problem with those "one size fits all" service manuals.
@1:59 gggwhipe xD
Why did you take the caliper off?
nevermind. I just found out why you did. Guess I can take these wheel to powder coat before I get new tires....... damn it.
Ya I just tried to pull the wheel off without taking the caliper off. The bolts for the brake lines dug into the wheel while I was trying to pull it out. So I dug into the powder coating about the size of a dime. Not my smartest time, and should have listen to the video.
Hope I can afford one soon.
A torque wrench in inexperienced hands does more harm than good. I've seen so many cracked fork bottoms when people overtighten the pinch bolts. A little nip up is all that's required on any bike.
@@Dutchman0 Ha Ha, well no harm done hopefully. Just be careful when torquing up the small stuff, even when using a torque wrench 👍🏼
How you Remove the Rest of this shit 19nm Screw ? Mine is broken too FUCK .....
damn the bolt so weak
