I love the speed of your description, no messing just straight to it. Easy to follow without churning through 30 mins of vid. What a huge process that is. You make something quite daunting, straightforward & systematic. Well done you!!!!
Awesome how-to video! I did my air filter without taking the fuel assembly out. If you disconnect the fuel rail connectors and move them out of the way, you can wiggle the air filter out carefully and wiggle the new one in.
Just completed the job with this awesome tutorial - thanks man! And regarding the breather hoses I noticed the following: if you disconnect the lower end of that hose, behind the lower water cooler, you can loosen & attach them at the tank without touching the electrical harness😅
Yup, I'm one of those guys who doesn't have a bike at the moment. I'm on a rampage,. I'm watching videos of people working on their bikes. haha haha! Great vids!
ahh.. just did the sprint superbike filter on my 1299sa with a flash from brentune. so far making 191 HP at the tire and still working on tunes that may pick up another 5 to 10. wait till u do a new windscreen. lol..
Another great video!!!! Just waiting on my Sprint P08 filter to arrive and will then be having this video running on the TV in the garage to assist with the install!!!!!!
Yet again, great video that helped me along with doing this myself. There's something terrifying about taking the gas tank off such an expensive bike but this turned out to be a lot easier than I expected. It looks crazy but the actual work itself wasn't too difficult, maybe just a little time-consuming. I tried multiple times to pull the air filter out of there without removing other parts or fuel tank but just realized it wasn't worth the hassle and ended up doing exactly as you showed in the video. Thanks for the tutorial!
Been watching ALL of your videos since I got my 1299S...but I definitely should not have smoked so much good stuff before watching this one. I'll have to watch it again. Tomorrow. And again.
What a a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection. I just woke up this morning to do this mod and here it is. Would you consider doing a Tuneboy install vid?
I have a 2018 ducati 959 and I got a carbon framed P08 F1-85 Custom sku 403546 and it says, because of the filter being rated P08 it does not require an ecu flash based on it being a P08 filter. Also, they do not have an installation guide directing you to make a successful installation. Does this filter come with a gasket to ensure a seal? The P16 type would require a flash of the ecu
This is good info. For the P08, the bike has the ability to do its best and adjust to the change, so it's not "required." Some people want to squeeze every last fraction of a horsepower out of their changes (or they have a convenient way to reflash the ECU), and a reflash with a proper mapping after any intake or exhaust change will be more beneficial than letting the machine adjust itself. The P16 doesn't have any kind of gasket while the P08's frame is all that rubbery gasket material.
Good news! The motomillion code still gets you a discount - makes it the cheapest sprint filter I could find. This was a handy video as I'm also replacing the squirter/thermostat as it has cracked.
The bikes ECU automatically adjusts airflow without a flash. Hence why the bike works in difference places with different altitudes around the world. It also said on the sprint webpage that a flash is not needed.
Moto Dutchman you won’t ever get 100% with any map. The map will be set to what ever air conditions are in the dyno room at the time. Different when you are a race ream and you re map the bike at every racing location to compensate for the different conditions, that’s when you get most of the filters performance.
I purchased the carbon fiber frame p-16 filter. It's a bugger to get in , the clips go of the front of the bike & those 2 notches go to the top. There there to have a place to grab the filter to remove it. It snaps into place very very good & I feel it will be hard to remove ? Big difference in performance over the K&N Race filter.
Nice video I have question regarding my 1199 nmechanic disconnected a hose from some where under the assembly can you please help me out can usend you a picture of the pipe. Thanks
I installed my Sprint without doing 90% of what you did. I just pivoted the tank up and replaced the filter. Little tricky without removing the stuff by the throttle bodies but it's doable.
That's really handy to know, this is a great tutorial but I was starting to approach the 'I can't be bothered' attitude. So basically just remove the rear bracket, earth cable and fuel pump/line connectors? Did you leave the breathers on the front right of the tank attached? Thanks in advance for any advice.
There was mention of an ECU reflash required after the change. Is that to update the maps for the higher flow, or just to reset service lights. Either way, any recommendations on a map/flash device for this upgrade? I am getting the $99 sprint filter and not the $300 sprint filter.. Would a flash be needed? FYI All your videos r gold Could u do one for taking off all the bodywork
thanks I was worried about that, but I'm pretty set on just going fot the regular P08 filter saving $200 and a rapid bike racing piggy back :) I wished MotoMillion stocked the race version so I can just order it from one place.
I have really put this off and its time to replace this darn thing... lot of stuff to remove ...uggg (Momma, I wanna go hoo-om-ommme) {Forest Gump}. Question, how did you flash the CPU? Is that really needed for a K&N filter?
A filter used by WSB is most likely the only thing i can afford on my 1299 LOL Now hold on for a second Princess, did you just mention replacing the ECU ??
DUDE !!! BEWARE when you remove the lower bottom screws... the rubber "thingee" on the back of the screw basically just drops. The dealer told me they have to remove the entire front faring. Uhhhhh not cheep on the labor hours.
Great video man, but fu*k that sh*t if I was going to buy a bike it certainly wouldn't be one you almost have to strip down to it's component parts to change the air filter! Came to check out the filter anyway not the bike.
I replaced my windscreen way back... with out actually removing the front nose faring. I did have to buy aftermarket screws from a Suzuki dealer. It worked out nice actually.
Mmm I have worked on a lot of car’s and motorcycles! Ducati is the only new bike that is not mechanic friendly! If you do not know what you are doing don’t do this! They do not sell you a repair manual for a reason.
You wasted a lot of money for that! It’s very expensive book. Need a clean environment for the work he is doing! The tank as an air box is a genius idea to save weight, and make overalls size compact. However it creates a problem because the airbox is huge a dropped extra small nut or bolt will make an expensive fix.Torque specifications is all I need! Put it together same way take A part. But if you unsure about doing this and need a book, best not to do removal of the tank related work. Mechanic shops have insurance for mistakes. I’m sure most people watching this does not.
In not trying to say you don’t know what you doing! But it takes a perfectionist to do work on these bikes. Even the people that put these bikes together make mistakes! The clutch plates was improperly installed on my bike from the manufacture. I did the work myself, 1299 2015 out of warranty. An average mechanic shop will not tell you the real reason why your clutch went out prematurely at 10k miles. They tell you be a little bit more careful with the clutch this time, but hell man I’m dumping my clutch out, and only powering it up! My water pump is bad not working properly $360 oem parts only! Thanks but no thanks I put it on myself!

I’m 76 hours into ownership of my it’s Panigale, and I’m binge-watching your channel. Already did the passenger seat/pegs removal. Keep it up!
Enjoy the content man. Such a beautiful machine you got there :)

It's a good idea to torque the front subframe cap screws while you're in the air box. Procedure is part of the service schedule.
Moto Dutchman yup. I mean the worst thing that can happen is the front half of the motorcycle sloughs-off. No big deal.
@@FancyAnimal Has never happened once in history.
Did you ever attempt to replace the spark plugs?
I can find anything on u-tube

So much harder to work on than the old 1198 and 998. So many steps just to remove the gas tank. 😮
For sure! Hopefully this helps people!
Have you ever changed the spark plugs on your Ducati ?
Hi. What ECU flashing company do you recommend? Thanks
Hello, when I remove the white fuel pipe from the tank, won't I get fuel leaking out of the tank?
That last step when you say to flash the ECU, what do you mean by that?
Good news! The motomillion code still gets you a discount - makes it the cheapest sprint filter I could find. This was a handy video as I'm also replacing the squirter/thermostat as it has cracked.

Which system did you use to flash the ECU....tuneboy ??
where i can find the superbike one?
tnx
motomillion still has them!
As always amazing video! About to buy a 959 so will look into this upgrade. PS you deserve more subs :)
Yep, I think I'll go ahead and pay a professional to do this.
How do you clean the air filter?
Where u get your tools
How does one re-flash the ECU?
Hi Dutch. Have you removed the EVAP canister? And is it worth doing?
I just bought a 1199 what wheel stand do you recommend
Why didn't you put the carbon one with higher flow? :)
Love your guides and how to mate 👌👍
If you buy a S1000R and how to video, it will definitely help me 😉😛
do i have to remove the panels in order to remove the gas tank? not changing my filter just wanna remove my gas tank.
Moto Dutchman Having a tough time with that breather tube hose clamp removal. Any advice?
my brother, holy cow that's lot of steps lol.
Nice video I have question regarding my 1199 nmechanic disconnected a hose from some where under the assembly can you please help me out can usend you a picture of the pipe.
Thanks
can you do a video for spark plugs?
where can i get the cpu reflashed?
Well explained! Thank you good sir!
Ah yes, I remember when I first needle-nosed myself. Great video!
Love your videos! Thanks!
What is that seat thing and where you got it from?
Does sprint filter change the sound?
Not that I can tell.

did you install the carbon one? or the rubber one? I want the carbon one but I'm worried it might pop off and be useless. What is your thought on it?
thanks I was worried about that, but I'm pretty set on just going fot the regular P08 filter saving $200 and a rapid bike racing piggy back :) I wished MotoMillion stocked the race version so I can just order it from one place.
Wow - that's a lot of work to change an air filter. It was far easier in my 67 impala. Nice tool arrangement and needlenosing!

Pointing at a thing is always an indicator of a true science thing. It's just a fact.
Can you dismantle your panigale v2 and again rebuild it
Nice video mate...Helps me a lot..Keep posting vids...will ya :D
Dutch is a BvG fan!
dream bike!
Lol this shit is easy af, I done everything but lifting the tank by myself, i dont even work with bikes, I found the video after finishing the job
Awesome !!
Ok...from this point of view I love japonese/germany/american bikes....omg!
So in essence undo the entire motorcycle to change an air filter 😅 Geez. Thanks for making it a cakewalk #Ducati 😂
@0:45. dude Im done xD

All that for an air filter? I'm selling mine way before that shit is due....
