Ep 9 Dirang to Shergaon | One thousand Year old Village, Thembang Heritage Village

- We started our day from Dirang. In between we stopped at many destinations which come on the way to Shergaon.
This video has places to visit in Dirang. If you happen to come to Dirang in HImachal Pradesh, you should not miss Dirang Dzong and Dirang Heritage village- called Thembang.

Following are the details of the places that you will see in this video of Tawang circuit - Arunachal Pradesh - EP 9.
Dirang Dzong: It is one of the oldest Forts of this region, which is situated in Dirang Basti. This place has old houses, some of them are almost 200 year old.
Date of journey - 18th April 2022
This fort was built in the 17th century to protect Bomdila from outer attacks.
Thembang Heritage Village: This is the 1000 years old village which was built inside a Fort. Here all the houses are very old. Here people still used to live like old times. Thembang Village is about 25 km from Dirang Dzong.

In the evening we traveled from the Thembang Heritage Village to Shergaon which is about a distance of 84 km. One can explore Rupa, Chillipam or Tenga Village as these are from close distance from Shergaon.
Shergaon: It is a Village with eco tourism. Shergaon is famous for bird species.
We stayed at Dorjee homestay - 8974622042 - Shergaon - they have good accommodation but only problem I realised next day was that washroom is common, so each room does not have a separate washroom.

Nostalgic memories.. way back in 1990-91.. was posted there .. have visited most of India by virtue of my service.. without any doubt.. Arunachal is one of the most beautiful part of our country.. only problem is reaching there..once you are there..its heaven.

I'll say this, and I do take myself seriously, and I'm not implying that you good people don't, I've never met Harish sir personally, he doesn't even know that I exist, but if I ever see this earnest gentleman out in any public place facing any trouble or inconvenience, I'll do my level best to help out. Heck, if someone is, god forbid, even trying to hurt him, I'll put my life on the line and actively engage those on the other side. Excellent coverage as always, very nice..actually in the North East, due to high humidity wheat or atta catches fungus very fast and doesn't last long, therefore Rice is the staple food in these high humidity region. Visitors should also avoid taking 'roti' other than a 'chalu' restaurant.

Bali ji, there are a few destinations in same Orbits of Thembang the remaining places are very important as Thembang heritage village. Remaining places as Chandar (very important once gate way of trade route to Tibet), Lagam, Pagma, Chinmok & last old village in Tibetan regime the Namshu. Next time You must visit those destinations. Don't forget to visit those locations on future tour towerds this main east Himalayan region in Arunachal( in British time named as KAMENG FRONTIER)....thanks
Bali ji, kameng frontier a combine region of present Tawang & west kameng Dist of AP. Once through these landmass stood an important trade link between Assam & up to bay of Bangal port in Tibetan era, through barter system both the connection the Tibetan plateaue & then Kamrup(ancient ASSAM) of basic products as example from Assam Tibetan imported Paddy, Bell Metel item, Buffeloo skin, Bamboo utensils etc more from Tibetan side carried Woollen clothes, china clay, mineral salt, horse & many more. But business became stopped in British regime in NE India so Britishers took various attempt to connect a direct trade route to link up with Lhasa but all attempts went in vain due to hazardous geographic conditions & very core landscape of eastern Himalayan Landscape they got failure again & again...some expedition were took by British surveyors in different time in this Himalayan region still commomarat us like a few trekking routs lies throughout the north Arunachal one of them a most important was surveyed the name derived from a British agent named FM Baily, trek is near by Dirang sub division......👍
