Considering the Battle Network Legacy Collection is coming soon I think that this video is well timed. It's honestly super cool they made a physical PET and I doubt they would do it but it would be awesome if they did a reissue to tie in with the game re-release. I remember they did the same for the Digivice a few years ago and that was awesome

tbh...compared to the newer Digimon V-Pets... the "gameplay" is pretty shallow. Though imagine a P.E.T. APP where you choose your net navi, have battles while "online" browsing and have battles via internet with others xD

I got this toy as a little kid along with that one toy where you can scan barcodes to fight "monsters" or capture them. Growing up in a small no name town I always dreamed of being that special kid who would have their own adventure in a far off digital landscape. Megaman, digimon, heck Reboot even got me thinking. I wanted to be wisked away to be a strong warrior along side my partner. Only last week did I get my hands on my own Digimon Tamagotchi, my first one being when I was super tiny and letting it die. I take it everywhere with me and nobody bats an eye. I may be 30 but I still feel that spark of joy when I hear the little bloops and bleeps of my partner fighting along side me against his digital foes.

Only the Advanced PET got an English release, but there were also toy versions of the Plug-in PET, Progress PET, and Link PET EX. During my first trip in Japan they had arcade machines that were compatible with a Navi Chip that you get with the Link PET EX toy which gains experience whenever you use it with the arcade game and the PET. I had to dig up all of my PET toys when the Battle Network Legacy Collection was announced for 2023. Truly nostalgic.

Something happened with the shipment from the US to Brazil and you could not find them anywhere. I had to wait for months, for me it felt like years. I even drew and cut some paper PETs to play while I waited for the real thing to arrive. But when it did my mother quickly called the toy store and had them reserve the last 2 PETs. We walked into the store and when I got it in my own hands I just couldn't believe it. To me it felt like a dream come true and I played that thing for years and years. I loved battle network and eventually ended up working in IT because of the impact it had on me.
Looking forward to the Switch collection next year!

I have a question I hope you can help me out with. I found my old Bass PET from Japan, same one in this video but I haven't used it since a kid when they were new or taken out the battery... I kept it concealed in a chest all these years, do you think there is still a chance that swapping out the battery may bring it back to life & work or do you think the battery has been left in it for too long

I've never been a fan of Megaman Battle Network, but it was really cool getting some information about the cool toys that came from it! And I agree; the shape of the little cartridges hit the spot. I think it's because I associate them with Nintendo Switch cartridges, Gameboy cartridges, the SNES cartridges, or the N64 cartridges. Cartridges have just always been fun.

When I was younger my brother and I had around 20 of those Digimon battle things each. They were actually being sold at the dollar store and my mom only purchased them all because she previously purchased us 1 each for $10 or so. So she knew it was a good deal. Now they around $50 each lol

MegamanNT is such a weird childhood memory. I read the comics as a kid because the local library had them. Only now am I finding out about the games and anime. It's really interesting see content about stuff I'm familiar with but am also seeing for the first time.
I know who bass is, cool character. First time I saw the game being played was a year back, and saw clips of the anime with it. Now I'm finding out about the toys.
It's such a weird mix of familiarity and discovery that I'm not sure many people have expirenced.

You should check out the Progress PET!
That one was my favorite PET toy. It has way more functions. Includes different Navis like ProtoMan inside instead of Mega, AND it’s backwards compatible with the Advanced PET Battle Chips!
It has a exploration mode where you go through the net, and a tournament mode, and options for accessories. And iirc, it has internal memory so when you swap the batteries (AAA bats this time), you pick up where you left off!
Full synchro, cross fusion, double souls, it’s the whole shebang!
I genuinely think it would be right up your alley!
Subscribing with the hopes of seeing a Progress PET review! 😄

That's so cool! I always Loved Megaman NT Warrior back in a day when it was airing on Jetix around 2005-2008 here in Poland, but we definitely didn't have access to such rarity, and I see even in America it was rare! I loved your episode about W.I.T.C.H. I have to look if you have to say smth more about Megaman TV series.

I remember a friend having that MegaMan toy. It really caught my attention. I had my own toy of that style, even if it wasn't exactly MegaMan related. I think I used the Digimon Frontier digivices. Not a big surprise that I've recently got myself a Vital Bracelet, complete with my own wave of nostalgia.

Wild seeing one of these after all these years! I had the Protoman one years and years ago. I loved the idea and used it as a prop for childhood pretend play, but the actual game use I got very little playtime in due to how frustrating it was to get viruses and heal after losing

I do have the mentioned Megaman and Protoman version. I always wanted to get the Bass version but as time goes on, it gets harder. I even have a lot of battle chips. I bought as many I could when they were selling this. Have been a Megaman fan ever since my childhood and have been collecting for over 20 years. (Games, Merch, etc)
My ears do bleed now because of the sounds but it's a really nice video!
Just like for Pokemon, all kinds of PETs from all seasons have a toy version.
I never bothered to open it. Very interesting to see the insides :O
Edit: I bought them all in stores when they were selling them (germany here)

I loved watching NT Warrior on the KidsWB block when it was airing. When I saw the toy commercials, my little kid ass was of course enthralled. I saw the 3 versions of the PET in ToysR'Us and wanted the Black one as that came with 10 Battle Chips over the Megaman and Protoman's 3. Even though I didn't even know who Bass was at that point. (I swear they skipped his arc in the TV airing). Truth be told, I didn't realize it was Bass until this video.
But yeah, I got it for Christmas that year, played it off and on for a couple years, and sucked so much that my brother and I could only beat 1 virus in our entire time with the toy.
