Mate, I’ve said this before, but the way you keep your channel honest by telling and showing us the things that don’t go perfectly to plan, as well as the things that do is a big part of why we love your channel. Also a reason that I vote that you continue to do the gear reviews, I trust what you have to say has been your honest experience. Thanks for the video and your efforts 🙌☕️👍

Every job I start always seems to be more difficult than I imagined before I started - don’t start me in plumbing. A drill I bought recently has a 90 degree chuck accessory & I’ve found that extremely useful in tight spaces like you had there. Thanks for sharing the real world challenges we all face & at the end of the day you made it work! 👏👏👏👏

I was thinking of just the same table and installation, but no access to either side and I find the cushions extend out of the wood meaning it has to have backing. But I did a good job and I would never have thought about the levelling. Well done u

I removed the huge cumbersome dinette table from my Adria Twin and replaced it with a much smaller one (same as you’d fit in a pop top camper), to make life easier when I didn’t want the table up. It took me ages to measure a million times to make sure I got the hinges in the correct place - fortunately the leg was adjustable, so didn’t have to be that level. It was a performance for a novice like me, but well worth it. Nice job Bob - I’d never have thought about the van being level before starting…🙄😂

Bob great video, especially highlighting your mistakes 🤭. I have installed the same type as Rob. I have also oscillated the table top so when you rotate it the table can project further (my wife can use for cuppa etc from her seat) or less. I simply offset the securing plate, screwed into 4 of the 6 existing holes, and made 2 further new holes for screws. Works great.
    Keep up the great work.

You must have read our minds Bob, we have a Swift Bessacarr E510 and also find the table big and cumbersome, so seeing this video is so helpful. We even mention it in our most recent video. We have a small picnic table but only for one really so the addition of the swivel table will be invaluable. Rgds Gary and Julie.

Well done. We have an Autotrail with a similar table fitted as new (possible very slightly larger) -we’ve found it to be our regular table for meals etc with one person sitting in the captain’s chair. The only downside is that when we’ve had company using a larger table, one captain’s chair can’t be used as the small table is swivelled right over to it.

Great job fitting the table, can I give you a little bit of advice. Don't use a spirit level as the van might not be level. It's better using a set square. I have kitted out a few joiner vans. Hope this helps.

A Paper Template might be a good Idea to include in the kit , with Drill Points which includes the Minimum Distance Guide from Deck to Base of Mounting Plate

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  Год назад

I watched Campervibe (after I fitted it) an their kit had a wooden template provided. Trouble was I didn't drill all the holes from the inside. I should have fixed the wood battern to and used the bracket to mark the drill holes, checking it was level.

Hi Bob, I feel your pain mate. I am a kitchen fitter and I do this stuff day in day out. You did a cracking job mate but maybe of over thought it a bit, just take measurements from upright structures as they will be level in the factory . At least you had the seal of approval from Jenny . Table looks great Bob.

Not true :). If you offset the plate fitting on the round table top, you can really make the most of being able to bring the round table top closer or further away from you. Brilliant! (I fitted my Lagun table with a round top to my front lounge Autotrail a couple of years ago and it is one of the best mods I have made :) )

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo

@@BobEarnshawMoHo you could try just repositioning the plate on the top, just securing with two existing mounting holes and see what you think? Save making more holes initially and be very quick to do just to see if you find it would be useful before making the change permanent.

It would be great if you could temporarily fit them without making holes wouldn’t it.
Out of interest is the table top lightweight construction or relatively solid? It looks very good.

I have a Autosleepers Nuevo EK and often use it with two single beds. Can the table be removed from the upright and can the upright be be removed from the bracket As with the Nuevo using it as two single beds you swivel the seats round and are part of the beds. How much was the kit ? and the table top ? And where from ? Keep up the good work - Terry

You may have noticed Bob on the photos I sent you yesterday that I strengthened the fixing plate with timber to ensue no table wobble. I also fixed the plate on a thick piece of timber which sat on the floor which again helped with making it more rigid. I did buy extra long bolts and also a table 900mm x 500mm
