      @@Don-QuixoteDoflamingo So you originally left Star Citizen(a free game)....for a paid game(EverSpace 2)...& then after the first 10 minutes of gameplay, you ditch it and deem it a waste of time?? Did you even play the first Everspace beforehand? I know Everspace can be unrevealing & vague and makes it difficult to progress(however though...this game had already been out for over 2 years before you began playing it...meaning that there was plenty of tutorial vids on YT to guide you through....so what precisely was the problem?) I never played Star Citizen(as I am more of an arcade-type gamer)...but I know it is a space-sim game and typically, sim games are much more difficult. To each his own though & if you just prefer Star Citizen because it excites you more then cool....but it just seems to me that you you were really in a hurry to get into the action and just gave up too easily. If you had ever played the first Everspace, you would know that it takes patience & a lot of intrepidity to progress and once you do, things get fun big time and you'll find it's worth your time. Sometimes though....taking a step back and putting the game on hold and going back to it later, is the best thing. I think you should consider going back to it at some point...

Anyway, even after maxing out the setting for aim assist, I can't seem to get it to work in-game. My ship still fires wherever the cursor is pointed at and there doesn't seem to be any evidence that my weapons are tracking the enemy at all.

    I'll be honest, I've rarely use my devices and I don't think I've used consumables more than five times since starting and I'm level 16 now. Flak, thermo, and drones for the win. I bought the Vanguard early on because I love the entire concept of carriers, I can't aim to an extent I am happy with (missing even half the shots annoys me, but I can just blame the gun if I'm using the thermo because the shots don't all go straight), and it had a lot more storage space than the starter ship. Because my drones and flak cannons killed everything I just completely forgot about using devices until about level 10. And even then I rarely use them. Teleport is the only one I really use, and mostly if I missed a webber drone and got caught or I am losing shields/armor.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  Год назад +1

      High Risk areas and Rifts will later encourage you to use more of your tools...otherwise it´s a little bit like playing Diablo without any skills 😀. EMP and Missile Defense System works wonders in tight situations. The Vindi is one of the most "tactical" classes, the drones take a lot of heat from you...don´t get to comfortable with that 😄

    • @thedaveed1
      @thedaveed1 Год назад +1

      @@wholesomegamer I'm including high-risk areas with that assessment. My first one was awful, I had still forgotten about consumables. It was over-leveled, hidden health, and one other thing that I can't remember. And then when I left the area, I found out I couldn't try it again. I think the last time I died in it, I had most of my health, surprisingly, and then I just evaporated one or two ships before the boss spawned. I've only died once or twice since then in one other high-risk area. I had teleport and quantum entangler, and I had no idea how to use quantum entangler. I still don't actually.
      I haven't gotten far enough in the campaign for rifts yet. I've been busy transporting liquor, small arms, and ramen to get money. Sometimes that includes Earth wine. I also got the remote storage perk. Using that, my last trip and a half got me nearly 200,000 credits.
      Honestly, I mainly use my devices besides teleport as "win-harder" buttons. I use them to obliterate enemies. I also mostly forget about secondary weapons as well.
      And I know that the drones take off most of the heat. Sometimes they even destroy groups of enemies before I realize what is going on and get my guns pointed in the right direction.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  Год назад +2

      The Bomber is maybe the ship that alters your base gamestyle the most in comparison to the other heavy fighters. You need to relearn using your secondary weapons as much as you can and energy consumption on low levels for standard missiles sucks...you are dry after 3 shots. The ultimate is also more situational then the Turret or Phalanx. I think it can be a great class, but you have to do adapt a lot to it´s special behaviors.

    • @kinhawkchan
      @kinhawkchan Год назад +1

      @@wholesomegamer Yea! I think that’s why I’m struggling a lot and failing to see the appeal of it since going dry after 3 missile shots seem very lackluster… rocket spam seems to be good too but definitely difficult to sim so I just end up relying on primaries anyway

    Its really hard to "try out" all ships while leveling because when you get feel of it you are already leveled up few levels and shops offering higher tier ships that are out of budged. Im kinda stuck with a bomber until i unlock other solar system and can get trading going.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  5 месяцев назад

      You don´t loose money when selling a ship, so you can interchange for nearly free within one tier. The jump to a new tier is ofc a very different thing :-) - so make sure to test different ships before leveling up to much.

    • @salemas5
      @salemas5 5 месяцев назад

      @@wholesomegamer yeah, i know, change same tier is about +-1000 credits, but atleast at first 10 levels you level up really fast when doing jobs/missions, plus ship rotations in shop makes it hard to try ships you really want and by the time you find one you already overleveled enough and shop is offering higher tier ships that you cant buy.

To fire, I have to activate the weapon system and then to select a weapon with key 1 or 2,,, and then to fire you need to use the LMB. Crazy... To board your starship in space, that's another weird story... and even to navigate throu the galaxy, you can get lost trying to go to any destination... Why no one uses cockpit view in this game ? Console camera sucks and make the game to look more arcady

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  Год назад +4

      Well, it´s an arcady game and supposed to be an arcady shooter. When they scrapped the cockpit customization 1 month or so before released, they stated that the vast majority uses 3rd person and only very few people cockpit view. I can totally understand that cockpit users are disappointed to an extend, but I think the game simply works best in 3rd person...and I want to see my customized rig 😄

    The game lacks a lot of the charm of Freelancer, another arcadey space game. Maybe the worldbuilding rubs me wrong.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  Год назад +5

      The Devs always stated to go more for a Diablo in space then a Freelancer 2. It certainly delivers on that, but may disapoint people who hoped for something else. For me personally it rubs enough Freelancer itches and I love the general direction of the game. Sorry that you don't enjoy it.

      @@wholesomegamer Oh, I enjoy it. But I can't help but nitpick, since it has been so long since we had a single player Freelancer type game.

      @@Jorjgasm 😅 Oh, I totally get that! My nostalgia for Freelancer is also strong and I remember being super disappointed by Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, because I really disliked the control/steering system. After I accepted for myself not to compare every aspect of ES2 with Freelancer and be more open minded to the vision of the Devs, I clicked with ES2. I still dislike some aspects, like puzzles, but the overall package is immensely stratifying!

      It actually runs really smooth...part of the stuttering comes from recording it...my rig is decent, but the CPU needs an upgrade.

    Why cant be a game whitout stupid MMO grind, like Freelancer!?!

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  Год назад +3

      Hm, Freelancer had you grind for better ships, weapons and especially the special variants of these. So having no grind in that game is maybe a little to generous of a statement. I personally think that the "grind" in ES2 is very good integrated into the overall journey and the joy of simply exploring everything...at no point I had the feeling to need some excessive grind to achieve something truly necessary. Most, if not all, activities related to "grind" are completely optional to give you a feeling of progression while doing what you like. Renown tiers, challenge rewards and so on are nothing you really need and the blueprint system let´s you craft anything you want (something you couldn´t do in Freelancer) while having an abundance of crafting materials available.

      Well then do not buy better ship? I did not bought any till I was level 13 (cuz I did not know you can sell the old one for same money). The game is completely playable even if you wont grind...also, this is fucking looter shooter...it is like complaining you can not change camera in FPS, or complaining about online in MOBA...thats the genre, it is not for everybody and it is completely fine 😄
