There IS a specialized mining weapon: Beam Laser. It always comes with a "+25% to all mining modifiers." which is not part of the random properties. In addition to that, it can roll a "#% increased chance to extract higher rarity resources when mining." The highest I've found so far is 73% increased chance and it really makes a difference. I've also seen them come with the #% to refund energy when mining. This is all in addition to the mining catalyst that you can attach. Thanks for the guide!
Yep, you are absolutely right, thank you for pointing that out. At the time I made this guide I did overlook that weapon/prefix. The Flak with mining-catalyst is still king of convenience though 😄
@@wholesomegamer Convenience but at what cost!! =P I just found another Beam Laser with +110% Chance to get rare materials. I encourage you to find one and see the difference. It makes it so you ALWAYS get a few rare versions of the mineral. I get 4-5 Pure Baromite per node! Same for Pure Clygon. Even more from the others. It seems crazy to me not to use it. One note on the Beam Laser for anyone reading, keep an eye open specially for the Disintegrator variant. Of all that I've seen, only the Disintegrators come with the property of increased chance for rare resource mined. It seems veeeery rare as I've only ever found 3 and I'm almost cap level, so it might just be coincidence. I'd still always check any beam laser just to be safe. Edit: Found a plain Beam Laser with +174% increase chance to get rare resources, so it's not exclusive to the Desintegrator variant.
@@wholesomegamer Haha I'm sorry, I hope it doesnt bother you but I ought to be stubborn about this. Recommending the flak for mining under any circumstances is terrible advice! See, there is another thing that you give up by using the flak. When you use the Beam Laser, every time you destroy a little ore from the rock, the game rolls the dice to see if you get a rare version of it. SO with the beam you get about 8-10 rolls for rare minerals, while with the flak you roll ONCE!!! Now, considering the rare minerals are the bottle neck, you are never mining for the regulars, those you get more than enough, you always mine for the rares. Flak gives up on the +25% extra mats from the beam, the +172% extra chance at rare material, and all the rolls from mining the ore in bits. YOu can put it this way, 1 deposit mined with the beam and all the bonuses is equivalent to about 10+ deposits mined the flak. Sorry about the essay LOL
@@FoxGHosen26 Do you have a source for that? The Flak´s splash damage should trigger all ore components of a note individually and thus enable the same individual rolls for each, just like any other weapon. Just because they are triggered simultaneously doesn´t mean they are not rolled individually, otherwise it would suggest two different mechanics for ore nodes, which I doubt. I would like to see some evidence for your claim. And I don´t want to disrespect your theory, I just doubt it works that way.
On a side note: when playing on the PS5 it takes a while to shoot all parts of a mining node because it’s not so easy with a game controller. So the convenience of a flak is not to be underestimated in this case. I’d use a beam laser only with an incredibly high rare chance (my highest now is 94%) to make up for the lost time.
I hope they give us a bit more tools to customize stats, like with the catalysts. To be able to re-roll one or two stats would be great. The itemization has quite some depth with all the variants, prefixes and pretty dope legendary items.
I know nothing of this game and might buy it. Thanks for helping me understanding the game better before buying it and if i buy it i will come back to this video. Great content
It's really depends on which ship you're using. As a vanguard player, I find that fast recharge booster is important. A booster that can recharge atleast 180% or more. Even more important than upgrading the shield or plating. Playing slowmo (vanguard time dilation) evading enemy bullets like matrix is fun.
2 somewhat obvious tips: 1. Always browse shops for advanced tipes of equipment\weapona of basic\green quality (powerful, tuened, marksman etc). It's easy to modify them up to your standard and current level. 2. You should always opt to up the level of your weapon\equipment before upping it's rarity.
One thing I did find. You can overwrite one catalyst with another. So, the superior flak I had that came with powerful (but L16) catalyst I changed to Minecraft when it was no longer useful as a weapon (and I already had the blueprint).
You forgot to mention that lasers often have inherent properties that vastly improve the mining modifiers, making them the best weapons for maximum yield.
I saw several beam lasers giving 25% additional bonus to mining perks and around 200% increased chance to get higher rarity Loot from mining. Should be better than flak for mining
Awesome video! Idk if this information is available yet but can you discuss droptables for various item effects? Some seem to be rarer (for example shields that release emp wave when depleted)
That is some information that is not available to my knowledge. I would assume that is simply RNG, if you craft a an item there will be a roll for each available effect...the more effects available, the less probably your chance to get it. More effect "slots" (3 for superior items) the higher your chance to get the desired effect on one slot. I doubt that there is a more fancy mechanic in place.
There is a detailed section about Dark Energy in the "Unlock T4 Ships" video. In short do ancient puzzles and all enemies in the Khait Nebula System can drop it.
not a bad video, but you forgot to mention a few crucial points: 1. crafted items cannot be leveled up, so I never crafted anything 2. level up the item before increasing it's rarity, for ex if you increase the rarity of rare item to superior it will cost 3 starcharged conduit, and another 3 to level up, but if you level up first you only spend 3 starcharged conduit and not 6, that's a huge savings.
Beam Laser with the Mining Perks has the highest yields, I still prefer the "fly-by-mining" with the Flak and a mining catalyst. Call me lazy, but it´s just sooo convenient 😄
@@wholesomegamer I agree, I'm sad that Flak is apparently not very efficient... Who woulda thunk firing what amounts of rockets at ore isn't very... Efficient, heh. Although Mining Catalyst on Flak might be a good middle ground.
@@ryanye8441 All Grey/Green/Blue/Purple equipment and weapons need tier-specific crafting components that are only obtained by dismantling items of the same tier. And you will quickly have an abundance of those, once the quality level starts to drop. They are only scarce at the beginning to prevent you from upgrading everything at once and to provide some sort of progression.
@@ryanye8441 Never tried that method, but yeah, that should work. Make a manual save, craft your stuff and reload if you are not satisfied. But don´t worry to much about all that. You can min/max at level 30 and by that time you have plenty of materials.
too bad that if you want to craft f.i. a weapon you cant check its statisics and variants before you going to do that (and compare to the weapon you already possess)
This game made me hate this whole looter-shooter system. Everything I collect in the game seems pointless as it gets out leveled in half an hour. Very unfulfilling and fleeting experience.
I personally think something like Borderlands is much worse. Thanks to the useful crafting system, you can use every piece of loot for disassembling and crafting/upgrading. Later it´s the best source of income for the pretty expensive T4 Ships. And you are always looking out for the juicy starforged variants, even at max.level. For me it is on par with the Diablo series...not better, but also not worse.
stopped playing because this game is too boring. always the same challenges, always the same enemies. lame story, no cutscenes. ANNOYING music. grinding recources is a chore! waste of money.
Sorry that you didn´t enjoy it. The enemy types vary vastly, especially later on (heat/cold/dark energy based). The main story was ok, but side quest like Parasite and the cool characters elevated the story experience for me. I never really grinded for anything but the T4 ship unlock and everything you need for crafting comes with little to no effort in sufficient amounts - hardly ever played a looter/rpg game with less grind then ES2, but maybe you expected something different altogether. I agree on the music during cruise drive though.
Well if you don’t like the music you can silence it. And there are tons of cut scenes, they are just in that particular comic book style. It’s a AA title after all, so don’t expect AAA content. If the enemies are always the same to you, try different ships or weapons!

how to get those materials of crafting such as starcharged conduit?
You need to disassemble superior weapons and equipment to get starcharged conduits.
