Today Riot has killed off a beloved agent, Viper. Prayers up. After her recent nerfs, it's safe to say there will be a lot of debate over her overall usefulness and whether or not another controller can overpower her utility. Will she still be meta?

See the thing is i dont even feel like viper will be in competition with the other comtrollers since she is now the ONLY smoker who cannot move ANY of her smokes after the first time deploying them, making it so that if an enemy spot viper set up they can just rotate and your team wont jave any smokes

The only nerf I personally find egregious is that you can’t pick up her smoke anymore. But even then, it kinda makes more sense with her kit centering around a stationary controller. And now Viper and Harbor (the only line-smokers) actually oppose each other instead of picking the obvious choice of Viper. Harbor’s util can be used more dynamically but it’s temporary and (more importantly) reveals where he is. Viper’s util while can’t be moved anymore, is permanent and can be activated from anywhere on the map.
Still tho rip casuals. I may be sick of her in vct (she’s basically become a win condition atp) it still sucks.

They do this in LoL as well. When a champ is unbalanced for a long time they nerf it 6 feet under and then keep giving it small buffs over and over until they’re satisfied. Viper has been meta since the game released back on the Gameboy Color in 1998

Viper can now accept chamber love since both of them are butchered by riot, unnecessary nerf you say? Sage has random nerf like 30hp self healing. A sole healer agent even cant heal herself. Looking valorant agent and riot policy is just like seeing valorant skin. It has h8s own world and logic, elderflame vandal can't has sane logic as AK-47. It is not!!!

Another case of the Valorant community overreacting to nerfs before we even see the consequences of them. People said Jett was gutted after her nerfs and she is still good and sees a lot of play, same thing happened when they took away skye's regenerating flashes. honestly i feel like viper is fine as she was probably the best character in the game and most of her setups are unchanged other than the length of time you can keep them up, though honestly this character has been so broken for a long time now that I would not be upset if she was trash after these nerfs.

guys she had a 90% pick rate because she was broke af. good nerfs. she will probably get some minor buffs in like a year or so
