This song is the true message of The Year Without a Santa Claus... "So you're too old for Santa Claus? Then you're too old for all the things that make a life worthwhile. What is real to you?" *The world is not too old for Santa Claus.*
"for what is happiness but dreams? and do they all come True? Look at me and tell me Son.... What is Real to you???" I'm almost 31 and this line still gets me this whole song just says over and over why I love Santa and Christmas it's not about magic it's the spirit of kindess love and gerosity that you really don't get any other time of the year people are just a little more loving at christmas... or at least they can try to be
sigh... now we have just 49 weeks to wait(plus a little hit in july) for it to come round again... try to do it better each year... still haven't taken down the lights though...
Fact about me, idk if I did this back when I was a kid and still in the magic of Santa Claus, but now: I think I cry or at least tear up whenever I hear/watch this song
The voice of the father singing here was our father, Ron Marshall. I watch this show every year on Christmas day so that I can hear his beautiful voice again. Merry Christmas everyone!
@@garymail4393thank you yes he did have a beautiful voice. Unfortunately he's been gone for over 20 years now. It's so special that I have this to remember him and that it means so much to other people as well.
@@1diagram my Dad has been gone for 28 years so I know the feeling. My Dad's voice is also very special to me. Both our Dads would be happy now to know how special they are to us. Wonderful legacies
I've watched this show for all 21 years in my life seasonally and this remains by far my most emotional scene, even above the miser brothers. I wanted to comment that Mr. Marshall was truly amazing! Stay blessed, happy holidays
Just like love, I know he's there, waiting to be missed. This song used to make me cry as a child and as a grown man with children, this movie and song still get to me. Is the spirit of Christmas that brings love, peace, and happiness to us all. ❤
I will always believe in the spirit of Santa. It’s not a person, tradition, and especially not a joke. It’s the idea. The idea that people should give all that they don’t need or want for those that don’t have it. The belief that others deserve as much kindness as yourself. The belief in the best of humanity.
Turned 60yrs old this month, remembering watching this on TV, family being around, i then showed this to my sons, they love it, brings a tear to my eyes, i still believe.
We believe in what Santa's love brings to all of us.caring, compassion, and love to the fellow persons in this world.goodness will always concor the gifts of life that bring us a smile every once in a while!!!

I won’t reveal how this song applies, something’s are better kept unsaid. But this hits home hard.❤ i pray you all find that peace and love you’re hurting so bad for ❤️
@@kppb6844 I did all I'm saying is he's real in our minds and imaginations, I found he wasn't real until I was 12 just how I think the Matrix and Agent Smith are real
such a sweet little Christmas song. Just a little sad it's not a hit, well know like Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer or Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. I'm 57 & I believe in Santa !!
As a 55 year old who has watched this since it was first shown, I'm wondering about something that others my age may be able to help me with. I vaguely remember the mother singing a verse in this song when I was young. At this point I'm believing that I just remember it wrong, but I'm wondering if anyone else remembers the mom singing as well.
I don't know about you but if a stranger crept into my room while I was sleeping and started singing "so you think you're too old" they probably would not exist anymore as an alive person.
All nations around the world celebrate the Winter Solstice and the gift of giving. Because of Jesus, Santa, and commercialism people forget that's what Christmas is actually all about.
It almost brought me into tears with this song ❤I still believe in Santa Claus, and always will.
always one of my fave songs...year without santa claus has a great score!

Just saw Santa Clause is Coming to Town last night….Rankon Bass will always be a seasonal tradition for the holidays….
No Christmas is complete without the Rankin/Bass classics.
Yeah, IMO Hallmark I delusional, Rankin/Bass is the king of Christmas
