Here in Melbourne Australia, myself and a lot of others that I am in a club with, build RC model sailing and steam boats and have put magnetic reed switches in our boats as it is easier to get to and can be built into a deck fitting or hatch of some sort..
A functional full size spare mount shutoff would be cool. A base that mounts to the bed, then the "key" part you pull out has the hex mount and stud for you to bolt whatever wheel and tire combo you want to it, that way it kills 2 birds with 1 stone. Also a full size tire would be harder to misplace...
I like the connector versus the magnet approach. Great upgrade. Love it! Even though they are not inexpensive, especially if i wanted to put it in most of my 49 rc vehicles...Thanks for sharing.
What a great idea! They must be selling like hotcakes since they are all "Sold Out" on the website. I could have used one of these when I had a Spektrum steering servo CATCH ON FIRE!! Though.. it did make for a cool video.
I'm working on a hybrid of those two, a magnetic cover that turns on a reed switch (small magnetic switch) that in turn controls a relay to cut the power, that way even if the cover magnet moves a bit, the magnetic field is strong enough so that the reed switch will stay "on". Will put the design on thingiverse once i'm satisfied with the results.
That's cool! I ain't into the competition stuff, but even just 'regular' people will find this handy. Times I pick up the folks' mail and park my Deadbolt by the steps etc.this will help a lot. Since don't have a truck, might get the Jerry can,maybe even for both Deadbolts!
These are cool! GCM did a video a while ago for how to make a master switch which essentially is the same thing. After their video I put one in all my rigs ... but they're not as good looking as these!

I guess I'm too in the dark ages still, as I only use deans on my rigs. Think all the other plugs are too bulky and comes in colors that don't match my vehicles at all. Down side, they are pain to take apart in the cold, rain etc. I live in Norway, and we have similar weather as Canada. As I type, I got nearly 3ft og snow outside, so I can't play with my rigs at all. Also thinking of make my own variant of the deadman switch, cause I'm out of funds and have the parts in my spare bin. As others have pointed out, your hair is always stylish, and I can only dream of going out beanie-less in -20C, I would be sick for months if I try that! Keep up the good work sir :-)

Couldn't you just use your esc external switch pos and neg (if indeed your esc has one, like Hobbywing etc) as that's not in the main power circuit from esc to battery.... You could effectively use anything down to a 2amp rating. So this design is basically a plate 'switch' yes?? So in respect... Does not have an max amp rating as such...as its simply bridging the circuit by means of a small steel plate..? Quite clever really.... Simple... But effective. I still think its a tad overpriced... Despite the ingenuity.... The manufacturers will pick up this idea soon.... Or a similar variant.... May be prudent of power shift to register this... If indeed that's cost effective in your part of the world. Fims

i stole that idea and used the xt60 connectors on all of my setup (batt, esc, plug, 4 total) all hidden under body, works great..... like the idea you have shown tho.....looks cleaner

As good as this is I’ll still need to turn on my esc anyways this doesn’t help with the button on the esc loltraxxas made an 8 dollar piece that mounts and does what this thing is intended to do which is turn your car on and off not hating on the video I just don’t see the point on spending 30 dollars unless your esc is powered as soon as it’s plugged in.... any one with more knowledge please fill me in on the details

Vs4-10 Pro would be my choice. You can get better CG from a Comp-specific setup, but nothing much than that out of the box.

Most modern ESC’s the first thing that goes is that switch. I always direct power to avoid that!
