Great video. Thanks. I laid under the car for 10 minutes looking for a traditional filter before I figured out that it’s a cartridge.
    Thanks.

Use a high mileage 5w-20 oil. I personally always put in a bottle of STP oil treatment also when I do mine..my 2004 mazda 3 has 225,000miles and still runs strong!

I m asking because my mazda 3 2005 has about 63000 miles and the check engine light come on recently, i reset it once and came back again 3 days later. The car runs smooth as always. Go get the code read at any auto parts store to find out what it is..it most likely is a simple fix but they will tell you whats wrong..mine is on cause the thermostat is stuck open and I have a small EVAP leak..nothing serious

You should use 5w-20 but I would get a "high mileage" blend..also would suggest adding an oil treatment such as STP oil treatment.. Good luck!!

looks like someone has already stripped the hex or torx bolt on the oil filter, it seems tight and I don't think anything is leaking from that area, is it ok to just leave that in place? I took the oil filter plastic cap off with a specially designed cap socket and all the oil poured out doing that (yes it's messy but I didn't want to jack with the partially stripped hex bolt).? DO you think I'm good to go? I realize that the oil filter came with a small black rubber o-ring that would otherwise be put onto that fitting , but since I'm of the opinion that I should "Leave well enough alone" , it's just a question I have for you as far as if you think it's ok to do that? thanks in advance so much for your thoughts!!!

    • @RobbersVblog

You should be fine.. the o rings are designed to be replaced once removed..if its not leaking you should be good..

@@xXxmessixXx101 I would go to 5w 20 because with that many miles or kilometers your gonna want the oil to get to critical parts as fast as possible. The thicker oil will take longer to get in there creating wear on the bearings and other parts, plus the oil pump wont work as hard either. Best of luck! Nice conversing with you!
