In Portugal we already have the macallan 18 sherry 2020 for sale. Just at the amazing price of 400€.
With our wages, it's more than half our salaries. Not worth at all, when you can buy the Glendronach 18 at 130 (plus shipping cuz we don't have it here)
Macallan is very respected hence its price 🥃
Macallen is my husband’s favorite and they stopped making the 15Year which is his favorite. Therefore, I ended paying up for the 18 year and that was part of his anniversary gift. There are others out there but Macallan is truly one of the best whiskey’s on the market. I was disappointed about the 15 year because it was a great price point.
They still make the 15. Just bought in the US
I just bought a 15 year old double cask today in the UK from John Lewis online, and it was a great price too.
I just purchased a 15 double cask today in Sydney Australia. $256AUD from "The world of whiskey" and I'm pretty sure they ship overseas if you want. Amazing shop. Been purchasing from there for 2 years now. Highly recommend
Maybe with Macallan increasing their capacity they can release stuff at slightly higher ABV
They have big warehouses I guess. The higher abv means the search for it will be higher, but expensive, sadly
@@rafaelcarmo5562 I was more so referring to their standard releases commonly at 40-43%. Instead maybe they can just have something at 46% or so. But not drastically increase the prices.

The difference between 12, 15 and 18 is not just age, but cask selection also, hence the exponentially higher prices.
Macallan is very respectable, hence its price 🥃

I have both. Both whisky’s are very good. They are a bit different in finish and aroma. The aroma of the 15 is what I prefer. It has a chocolate smell that is awesome.
Price quality for me the 15 is at the sweet spot. The 18 is now way above my price range. And yeah, it's a bit annoying at first as you always spill a bit.
Anyone knows how it compares to triple cask?
The 12yo TC >> 12yo DC. I don't know about 15 yo though.

Ive never had a Macallan because it's just too dang expensive for what you get. I can wait.
I’ve been unimpressed with 12 sherry oak or fine oak expressions. But the sherry oak 18 is amazing. I prefer macallan 18 sherry oak to glengoyne 25, glengoyne 21, glendronach 18 allardice, aberlour 18, glenfarclas, and other sherried expressions. I hope the quality of the sherry oak (not double oak) does not decline because it is such a special dram that I am willing to pay the inflated price for sipping on special days.
15 Double cask is the same price as Triple cask here lol $130

Glendronach will win, there are also comparisons of glendronach 18 and macallen 18 on you tube, (blind tastings as well) and glendronach wins... and macallan is an overpriced whisky
@@MarcelB74 you have to explain why, not just glendronach wins...lol. non-chill filtered, natural coloured, higher abv 56%. it is just phenomenal, no others words to describe the taste of this wisky.

43 abv for a 15 yr old? Think there is a point of diminishing return on Macallan, not worth the price
I never buy Macallan. They are too ridiculously overpriced, yet mostly are only 40% abv - 43%(max), and they're chill-filtered.
I would rather buy lesser known "gems" such as Tobermory, Fettercairn, Edradour at way better prices and get a good impact of non-chill filtration, over 46% abv and natural colour!

Many people do in fact chew the whiskey. The first touch on the palate is designed to submerse your senses. Whether you chew, swish or gently push it to all four corners of your mouth, it's all good!
