Perceptions of luxury and quality are certainly perceptive. However, marketing and experiences are all about how you make your customers feel. The Macallan has a commendable business and marketing strategy, and in a world of high competition, has managed to survive 200 years. Great video!
In Scotland, we call it the pretentious malt. And we only rate Macallan made before 2000. They may be good at marketing ,but really, only those who haven't got a clue about whisky pay hundreds ,if not thousands for chill filtered whisky,and some of them will never be opened,and if it is these people wony really know what they're tasting.
So if Macallan is overrated as per some of the comments ? Which is the best Scotch in their opinion. The folks who said Macallan is Meh didn't provide any other alternatives.
It seems that all of the so called "whisky enthusiasts" are simply alcoholics as for some reason they believe that higher the ABV the better the whisky is. Guess you would love Polish speciality "Spirytus rektyfikowany" which is released at 95% ABV. Must be the best alcohol in the world. I will gladly swap the bottle of it for that louse bottle of chill filtered, coloroed Macallan.

@@Businessvidsofficial It’s excruciatingly overpriced and massively under-delivers in it’s quality. Put it this way, it tastes wayyyy less than it’s actual ‘value’ that they claim it is worth. These days Macallan is beyond a joke to us malt enthusiasts, but also appreciative as it keeps the collectors’ attention away from the good stuff 😂
I foud the Macallan whisky very nice on the nose, but will not keep what promised on the palate not very complex, a middle range whisky in my opinion. with the decades they were very smart in the marketing department adding a "value" that for me is not present, especially for the price they ask. There are many other Scotch whiskies that are far more interesting and better priced than Macallan , peated and not Peated@@Businessvidsofficial

it's a luxury item. for collectors. as for myself i prefer scotch that is not colored, chill filtered and with an ABV over 46 percent.
