QUESTION: even though you use Low Melt Solder, don't you still need to reach the melting temperature first for the Lead Free Solder? I assume once they are both molten they mix into anew alloy? Just curious. Thanks.
Yes exactly. You need to apply the soldering iron to the joint so unleaded can melt and mix with Low melt solder, otherwise low melt will just be laying on top of hard unleaded and it won't do any good.
Such clean and efficient work. I am amazed more by your technical skill and precision with each video I watch. If I didn't have such a knack for learning and doing things myself, I would definitely send off to you for repairs. Maybe one day I'll be beyond my capabilities. 😂 Have an awesome day.
I have the MSI Crosshair 16, it uses the same type of power connecter. I have tried to be very careful with the laoptop plugged in, I can tell the power connecter is a weak spot and figured at some time I would have to replace it.
I remember we didn't have to worry about a simple connector before and my laptop was working for more than few years without replacing it The more we go forward the more fragile things has become
The DC jack/charging connector should not be soldered straight on to the mainboard! It's a component that does/will/can take a battering and should be easily replaceable. I've done (replaced) it twice now on my 6/7 year old dell XPS and it requires nothing more than a screw driver!
That's when laptops manufacturers still had in mind repair ability. Now days modern laptops are soldered to reduce size and cost. They try to force you into buying a whole new motherboard if a component that is soldered goes bad.
the chassis on those types of laptops are always so horrid. Ive dealt with a couple of them before and have always had some sort of structural failure in the hinge or screen
I fixed one of these too, the problem is i get it repaired and it turmsnout someone ripped the wifi port off the board. Ill try to pop a new one by an adaptor into the spare nvme slot
my son has a msi gaming laptop, its my 3rd time replacing the charging port. He's now paying for the repairs and making me rich so I'm not angry on him tripping over his cord all the time.
Msi laptops have good quality motherboard board and usually wont brake and we see in this video it was only connector issue ,, but asus 💀 old subscribers to this channel know well 💀💀

MSI sucks. Especially their motherboards. I made a huge mistake in buying the B650 Tomahawk. Absolute garbage. I will never buy MSI products ever again.
"You can't melt anything with Fahrenheits" !!!!

Super professional in what you do; including being hilarious, with little effort. God bless. Jokes almost always ship out ; “same day.”

No you just need to kick off the reaction of the 2 metals combining into a new amalgam. It can happen at lower temperature depending on the chemistry.

@@BSnicks I avoid 120amp lab supply, just licking 9v battery 😗

90% of this channel feels like rtx 4090 and laptop repair. Why do people buy faulty products?
You want to say that you always buy something that dosent get faulty ever?
Do you want employees to work? I have experience in repairing and certificates in electronics, and I am also from Lebanon.
if you're local (around California) then you can contact him
